*smiles*  apparently.    I'll keep my OOC comments in the OOC, though.

Re: OOC
I see the "lose only one of us" plan has deteriorated almost immediately. As expected for a standard D&D group of well-adjusted players and characters.

And Dain, you let me go! I told you that your character's fixation on the perfect hand moisturizer was going to lead to axes slipping out of your hands later on, but this takes the cake.

DM, might I request that we don't wait for Bryn too long before continuing?

Bryn, sir, you have a history of going MIA without warning (at least warning I've been aware of), so don't take this personally.

Re: OOC
Alright, I will probably update on Monday--I have a crazy weekend, the game itself is about to get rather crazy as well (bwahahaha), and I have a lot that I need to type up and proofread.

(I've been looking forward to this section for rather a while now.  Should be a good time.)

Re: OOC
Way to keep us waiting, DM. I demand we all receive no less than three extra points of expereince, PER DAY, that you make us wait.

edit-
Yeah, I spelled experience wrong, but I didn't fix it.

Re: OOC
Okay, I still have one thread to set up, which will have to wait until tomorrow.

You will see, I have split you into private threads.  This might slow some things down (although I've tried to set it up so that my IC responses can be fairly brief, so I don't have to wait to have a good chunk of time to post and thus can keep everything moving), but this section of the game should not take long overall, and I thought it would be nice to set up some RPing opportunities that draw upon various characters' backstories.  I'll give everyone access to all threads once we're done, for if anyone wants to read what everyone else was up to.

Re: OOC
Sorry for the delay folks--my schedule has shifted for the summer, which has thrown off my usual posting time a bit, just in time for my brilliant idea of splitting the party.  My next couple days are very busy, but I should be able to update 2-3 threads this morning and get the rest of you at some point tomorrow.

Re: OOC
Woops. It looks like one of my sentences was to language group dwarven, and one was private to group dwarven? I'll edit my post, if that was the source of your question.

If not, do what now?

It may be something else, since I still can't understand it.   As a relatively new player, I might not be in the Language Dwarven group.  :)

You're right, for some reason you weren't in the language group.  I have fixed this--should be able to read it now.

Re: OOC
Alright, Tybalt has said what he has to say so far.

So unless Oren/Dain want to say anything to him before he leaves, that's what he'll do.

If you're waiting on the DM now, then please let us know, so we're not all sitting here with our thumbs up our asses waiting on each other?

Re: OOC
Apparently I actually hurt Dain's feelings in our IC thread, and he's asked to be removed from the game.

edit-
Also, I said "uncurable" instead of "incurable", which is embarrassing.

Re: OOC
Yeah, seemed a bit sudden to me, too, though Rez has a reputation for being flaky, apparently.

And I thought that, by now, it's pretty clear that my language is rarely, if ever, serious.

For what it's worth, Dain, I'm sorry baby. I never meant to hurt your feelings. I know I don't deserve to have you in my life, but if you can find it in your heart to forgive me, I'll never hurt you again. I promise.

Disclaimer: I promise nothing.

Re: OOC
Tybalt, I don't like calling people out publicly, but shooting your mouth off about another player before I have a chance to at least try mending things really isn't helpful.  Neither is such a sarcasm-laden apology.

I can understand how you might see what you wrote as part of your rapport with the player, but I can also see very well how, especially typed rather than spoken, such a post might be read as earnestly insulting.

What I've always loved most about games like this is the opportunity for a group of people to create a story together; that requires people who often have very different perspectives IRL to find a way to interact respectfully and productively, especially since this is supposed to be fun for all of us.  I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always good at policing this--what happened with Dain is clear evidence of that, it is evident this has been simmering for some time.

I don't think it serves us as individual players or the game as a whole at all if we are flippant and quick to write other players off when things like this happen--we need to take it as a moment to step back and say, "Okay, we haven't been understanding or understood by each other as well as we thought; how can we make this better going forward?"

Which is a tough question, to which I don't have any easy answers.  But, I think that's the conversation we need to have now.

The OOC thread is about to hit capacity, so this seems like a fitting moment to launch the new thread.  This will be the last post of this thread.
