Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

Rael shakes his head slightly and say in an amused voice "You truly have no capacity for subtly ah, Victor?" shaking his head he adds "You want to know how long a cycle is, its a hard question but I'll try."

"You, tell me how long is a cycle..." he asks the guard.

Glancing at the others "My feeling is that a cycle is about an hour time, it would fit the best with what we know so far. If this is true we have some six hours, enough for stealth."

"Angrboda, can you weave us an illusion to appear like the guards? maybe we could appear like a group of guards taking a prisoner ..." at that he nods at Viktor "... the the cells."

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

The guard gets a confused look on her face. "The bell chimes every cycle." Thinking back to the times that you have heard a bell you realize that you have heard 2 such bells since you have arrived, one of which has been recent. Best approximation would put the cycle to be slightly longer than an hour.

Khazim's voice, after his long silence, slightly startles everyone "I think, based on what Valmir stated, that Viktor is a much better goon than prisoner. His course actions may best suit the role. Besides, it looks as if the suit that he removed would fit him nicely, the red offsets his eyes."

Angrboda sighs as she looks into the secret passage, "I'm sorry, I only have limited amounts of magic I can cast.  Since you insist on planning this assault as we go I am going to need to reserve something for when we are fighting our way out.  Which seems to be what is going to happen." she shakes her head and moves into the tunnel.

Rael rolls his eyes at Angrboda words "We are working according to plan... just improvising as things change... you know you need to keep an open mind..." he shakes his head "Well if you can't use magic, you can use your skills in disguises..."

He glance at Khazim "I agree, Viktor would make a good goon... we have two outfits of guards so how about, Angrboda will remain a slaver, Eclair would change to a guard uniform, Viktor and Lars would pose as goons and Khazim would be disguised as guard... meanwhile I'll be the prisoner."

He glance at the group "Is that sound reasonable?"

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

Eclair only gave Rael an appraising look before shrugging and replacing what garments she need to with guard clothing. The red hose and green cloak felt a bit wrong but she adjusted to them quickly and grinned as she stowed what she was not wearing in a pack to throw over her shoulder. She had no real attachment to the items, but keeping them was practical for the moment. She strapped on a longsword on her right hip then countered that weight with her shortsword. Her dagger she tucked into her boots then she adjusted the fit a bit. The guard had not been the same size in all the right areas and the hose were a bit tight across the hips and the cloak hung an inch or so short of where she would like it.

One last check then she looked around at the goons and grimaced. "This is a bit much maybe for me but it is the best we can do. Alright, if Angrboda has the front, then Viktor go after, Rael, Khazim, then I and Lars will bring up the rear. Might recommend that Khazim pose as another prisoner though. He isn't the most convincing of females."

She waited her turn to enter the tunnel.

Angrboda laughs at the statement, if this was a plan?  "So do you suppose they often transport prisoners by way of the secret tunnel?  Also, what are you going to do about the drugged guard?  Bring him with us?" she asks, pointing out the glaring flaws in the plan.  Then turns and begins heading towards the keep, trying to figure out an escape plan as she goes.

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

Rael shakes his head his voice ice cold "Maybe if you've pulled your head from your ass you'd notice some trivial thing like the fact that the guard is female and if you were listening to anyone beside yourself you'd have heard the guard telling us there is no one at the exit of the tunnel."

He sighs, the woman was grating on his nerve but he needed her to at least cooperate "I do not plan this would be an elaborate disguise just something that would fool a random encounter and give us an excuse to be at the prison cell." He motions at the guard "She could come with us if it would make you feel better but we could leave her here for the next six hours no one would bother to check."

He sighs softening his tone "Angrboda, if you have a better plan to get what we need please share it with us, so far other than being dismissive of the only plan we have you were not very productive... just storming into the castle would lead for battle for sure and while I know how Khazim Eclair and Viktor fight, I doubt even with your considerable sorcerous gifts we could take down a whole castle."

I will follow behind Angrboda...we do have some silver if we need to bribe anyone...should we take the guard or have her pretend she is drunk and passed out..crutches down and enters the opening like a sardine in a tin can...

Would someone hand me a candle from the table so we can light this torch in here?

Slowly shakes his head at the bickering. "We do not have to bring the prisoner with us. Hogtie, bound feet and hands behind the back generally works. Add a gag, toss them in tunnel behind us. I would not prefer to be without my bow, however, I do understand that in order for this to work we all need to make compromises."

Rael shoot a glance at Viktor "No... it will be just messy and would leave proofs that might alert others. Better to order her to sit here and act normal. She is under the effect of the drug and will be for some time now."

He glance at Khazim "I guess we could tie her up and gag her and set her up so she would appear to have fallen asleep during her watch."

"My plan, which was discarded for this haphazard ridiculousness, was to get more Intel and have a demon ready to teleport us out when we acquired the man." she explains in exasperation, "Unfortunately that ship has flown.  So now I am stuck in this chaos." she finishes with a smile and turns once more to follow the tunnel.  "I do highly suggest that th bring the guard at least halfway down the tunnel, since you aren't going to kill him."

How about I just punch the guard in the head and knock her out..we leave the cigarette in front of her and splash some alcohol on her so it looks like she passed out..will she remember any of this?

"The vice of alcohol is strong in many, knocked out and "drunk" may be just as good. Rael, do you know how long that potion works? would she stay out till the next shift?"

Khazim begins to remove much of his gear and places it in an empty sack. "I'm not relieving myself of my bow. I'd rather pretend to walk around like the zombie guard, as a prisoner, with the bow unstrung." He motions to the docile guard who is still holding the lever.

He gathers the bag up and cinches the top. Leaving a dagger tucked away, just in case, he hands the bag over to Viktor. "If you are the roll of a prisoner or goon, you would make the best pack mule, given your size and strength. I'm trusting you because we are all following the same trail."

Rael shake his head as he motion the guard to sit "I am not sure how long would the effect last... a couple of hours for sure... I think the slavers used drug their captives every six hours or so... but that just an assumption."

Once Viktor is done he adjust the guard to appear to be slump on her chair and follow the others into the tunnel.

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

The group moves about the place preparing the scene. Viktor lends his expert advice on what a drunken binge aftermath looks like. Once things are agreeable, Viktor calmly walks behind the guard and smacks her with the pommel of his Lymorian Axe. She takes a nosedive as she takes the customary drunken slumber position. The group silently falls into step heading down the tunnel while the barrel door silently closes behind them. The tunnel falls into shadowy darkness as the torch flutters from the wind of the closing door.

The tunnel is roughly straight with only minor variation to the grade. After 20 or so minuets you come to a stout wooden ladder heading up roughly 20 feet. At the top of ladder in the flickering darkness you see a wooden door set into a wooden ceiling. Daring a peak, you crack open the door enough to look around. A cool breeze slides into the crack and down into the tunnel. The only view however that you can see is a series wooden posts, much like wooden bars, every direction you can see. It dawns on you, these are not bars, but legs of chars under a table. It seems as if the door opens right in front of a table with several chairs around it. You can hear no other noises about you except for the wind, and the grumbling of those below.

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

Cautiously you open the door and begin to move out into the night air. Keeping an eye out for roving patrols you see that there are few moving about the garden area. You find yourselves emerging into a spacious gazebo. This eight sided structure offers little in the way of cover from the outside. The only furnishings in the structure is an elegantly carved table with four matching chairs. The door to the tunnel is opposite the main stairway into the gazebo proper. You can tell that you are on the west side of the main compound. Royal Guards lazily walk the upper battlements rarely looking inward to the gardens.

Dressed in your motley assortment of slaver garb and Royal guard gear you should be able to fool those at a distance. The real test is going to come down to when you come face to face with someone who is not bored out of their minds on guard duty.

Oh yeah, updated Maps as well

Re: The Prisoner - City of Amaht

Angrboda climbs out into the courtyard, allowing the haughtiness of her ancestors to become a part of her for the moment.  The change is immediately apparent to the group, even though they have only known her for a short time.  Gone is the sarcastic grin, gone is the twinkle in her eye indicating that she views the world as a joke, the carefree slouch slides away to something much more fearful.  Her mouth curls with disdain, as if dealing with everything around her is hardly worth the effort.  Her eyes harden to the point that they look as if they may be made of the hardest stone.  Her face itself somehow dons a cruelness that you cannot fathom unless you have witnessed the atrocities that happen on the Dreaming Isle. "Come, let's get this over with." she says, her voice seeming to want to flay the skin off of your bodies.  She walks forward, her demeanor that of a person not to be trifled with, that of someone who belongs where she is, a person who punishes those who question.

Eclair notes the shift in stance but chalks it up to good acting or a bad past, but straightens her belt and checks her weapons before moving in behind the rest of the group. They still argued too much though. She supposed that she was equally to blame.

The mask was finally peeled from Angrboda face revealing the monster she was truly was. Real hand was on his venom covered knife, he did not put it past her to sell them all, he would stick that blade into her if that would be the case.

However, since for the time being Angroboda did not betrayed them nor summoned the Lords of Chaos to feast on their souls, Rael followed playing his role as best as he could.
