Alrighty, Lost a Head Cashier the other day. I've been filling in which is not a big deal. However in the last few weeks there has been major changeovers at my store, many of them are simply setting everyone on edge.

For the next two weeks I'm going to be simply At work. My next day off is roughly two weeks from now. Thanks to the dissension in some of the ranks of the department managers (myself included) it feels like everyone is simply at each others throat.

Not sure if this is related, but in addition the number of people calling in is reaching roughly 4-5 a day. This stresses out our already thin employee coverage, Our new store manager is only worried about results. As Department managers we are told to not schedule any overtime, BUT we must maintain full (often times above our capacity to do so) coverage - This simply results in going into overtime, which then we are getting in trouble.

Needless to say Over the last 2 days I've worked roughly 10 hours each day without a lunch or even being able to do much more than run to the bathroom (the no lunch is going to land me in even MORE trouble, but there are times when there is simply no ability to abandon a station) -- And I've got 2 more weeks of the same. Lets just say I'm stressed, Tired, and near legendary patience is near an end.

This is kind of a vent and kind of a heads up. There are (many)days that I'm going to be closing the store, only to turn around and head in the next morning. I'll do what I can to keep things updates, just please be patient.

Ugh, I don't envy you.....:P

Here's hoping things calm down to a manageable level.  Make sure you look after yourself - the game can always wait.

I'll add my support, too --  hope things stabilize as soon as possible!  That's life in the working world.   Sometimes, it's just - Ugh.

Here is a nice share that I simply have to share because it is a full moon.

A gentleman came up to the service desk while I happen to be helping one of my cashiers. The individual did not have a receipt, so we told him that we can get him money back, but we need a drivers license.

"I don't have my wallet!"

My associate simply states that the computer cannot process anything without either the receipt or an ID of some kind. The gentleman reaches over to his item (a bag of brass couplings) and tosses it in the garbage.

"There, it's F*cking taken care of."

I jump in and calmly state that there is nothing we can do. Not only is it policy, but our computer system will simply not accept it. He storms off muttering something about how much he spends here.

All I could think is that if he spends that much here, he obviously returns things, like plumbing bits since there is ALWAYS extra, and he should be fully familiar with our warm hospitality.

That and I wanted to simply put my fist through his annoying bitching face.
