"Attention passengers: We are 1 hour from dropping out of hyperspace around Balmorra. Be prepared for normal procedures."

The ship's audio clicked off and the normal background buzz of conversations returned to normal.  There were about 30-40 people on the ship, not including flight crew or droids.  It seemed most were business personnel or civilians flying back for family or other reasons.  Everyone seemed calm and going about normal business.

A droid walked over to the 3 Jedi and stopped next to their row. "Is there anything I can get any of you for the last portion of our trip?"

Jax looked at the menu in front of him and nodded, "Yes, actually. Could you bring me a Corellian Spiceloaf sandwich? Thanks!"


Jax looked at the other two, <blue>"Anything for you guys?"<blue>

In reply to Jax Nilar (msg # 2):

"I would like some Alderaan Ale if you have any."states Jido who is nervously looking around while trying to calm himself down for the landing.

The droid confirms each order and sends a message via its internal wireless to have them ready.  It then looked over at Maliq.

"And you, sir? Anything you like?"

After looking at the menu, Maliq shakes his head. "I'll just take a water."

The droid took all orders and returned a moment later with each request.  After handing the drink to the correct person, it then moved about its business.

Here is the time to talk about the mission, strategize, discuss plans, get to know one another, etc.  This is the "opening scene" of the Balmorra episode.  So feel free to do whatever you like here until you land.

Savoring the spicy burn after each bite, Jax chewed and said in a low voice, "So, initially we are doing a force assessment. How many Sith agents, and what are they trying to do, right?"

"Balmorra is run by the Ruling Families. Of those, Lord Deikun is currently the head. There would be a good place to start our investigation. Any Sith activity would have affected the families one way or the other." Maliq folds his arms, placing his hands within the opposite sleeves. "The government here is currently neutral but sells arms to both sides of the war. If they were to choose sides, it could drastically affect things. Sounds like enough motive for a Sith to be operating here in the first place."

"Once we find out where the Sith is we should move quickly to bring in the Sith.But we must use caution in dealing with the ruling families since the Sith might have already turned one or more of the families to her cause.Also she may choose to fight us when she has been caught she will not show mercy we must be calm when entering the fight or we may fall to the darkside." states Jido grimly to the rest of the strike team.

"This is your pilot. We have just dropped out of hyperspace and are beginning the landing procedures.  Please remain seated until we land. Thank you."

Just trying to move it along.  Make any final comments/requests you like before landing, then we will start the mission.

"This is your pilot. We have successfully landed.  Please begin to exit the shuttle in an orderly fashion."

The rear and front doors of the shuttle slid open, and the other passengers started to get out of their seats, grab any items they might have, and make their way towards the exits.

No responses from anyone, so we are now landed. Feel free to post your actions in the spaceport or the city itself.

Jax grabs his pack and heads out the door. "I'll catch you guys at the lodging in a bit. I'm going to go log our first update so they know all is well so far. Can I get you guys anything while I am out?"

Maliq stands and checks his person for all of his belongings. Exiting the behind Jax, he shakes his head in response to Jax's offer. "No thanks. I'm just ready to get the ball rolling. I'm assuming we will be headed off in the direction of Lord Deikun's residents? Maybe we can get a feel from him concerning the current situation."

A droid walks over as you are departing the shuttle.

"Welcome to Balmorra! I am official designated guide of the Balmorran Tourist Bureau. If you would like any directions or recommendations let me know. I am fully versed on all destinations, both business and pleasure, that any visiting individual might be interested in seeing.  I also have knowledge of the publicly held profit/loss records for the major corporations and information on the leading families."

"Can you take us to Lord Deikun? As representatives of the Jedi Order, we have urgent business to discuss with him."

"Yes, indeed, I can take you to Lord Deikun. If you follow me, I can get us to a transport and have us on our way momentarily.  While we travel, I can give you a history of the family and their holdings and the businessess they run if you like."

The droid began walking away from them and towards the other end of the spaceport.

Just as they pull away Jax yells, "I'll comm you when I am done, and then we can meet up"


Jax headed to a comm station and wrote up their initial report.

Calm trip to Balmorra, on planet now. Heading to make contact with Lord Deikun. Will continue to update


GM, can I make a computers check to do some research on Lork Deikun? Maybe looking for some less available info?

Sure go right ahead.  Depending on what you want to know will set the difficulty.  Normal, readily available inforamtion just make a check.  If you want more in depth, then add 1D.  IF you are looking for secrets, then add 2D.

Jax calls up some local databases and gets a strong background on the lord. Hmm, this should be helpful for Jido and Maliq, I'll forward this along.


The basic search done Jax tries to dig deeper, but largely isn't able to find much about hidden about his lordship.

For that advantage can I learn something that isn't directly about him, but could still be useful?

[Private to Jax Nilar: The basic search is just normal information.  Marital status, degrees, family name, photos of him at different events, some gossip about his sleeping around, comments about his fashion sense, and other data like that.

The deeper search does not come up with much beyond the usual, but it does reveal that he has only recently taken control of Balmorran Arms And Defense.  This was able to execute a takeover from this father, the powerful and until recently untouchable ruler of the Business Council (planetary government). This takeover was seen as a shock by many and rumors are swirling that Lord Casaval Andraticus Julius Deikun IV is making a play to usurp his father's position.  His father still has many powerful allies, on world and off, so this will be a tricky task.  Some rumors say that Lord Deikun the IV might have powerful off world backers to help him succeed in this dangerous power play.]
