B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

Ping. One of the internal notifications was triggered. This one was set to parse data pertaining to bounties.  A new batch was updated and sent out over the holonet for anyone who wanted to find them.

The list was the normal bounty update. Some new names/faces, some current ones removed for various reasons, and some updated to reflect current locations/increases in reward.  Of all those, one stood out.  It had recently jumped almost 400% since the last posting 2 weeks ago.

The bounty read: "Wanted. Klevelin. Weequay dissident. Recently escaped capture and slaughtered the hunters who had him in custody. Subject is extremely dangerous. Last Know Location: Commenor.  Bounty: 30,000 credits."

Namespace B4D4.55 : Murderbot
{
      public partial class Bounty:Form1
      {
             public Form1()
                     InitializeComponent();
                     }

                     }
****

Roused from his idle state, B4D4.55 accepted the bounty contract from the holonet and placed it in his system to display any relevant information on his HUD.  Browsing through the files, his central processor buzzed with activity as he began calculating variables and risk percentages.  Or more commonly, the droid was thinking to itself...

***High reward.  High risk.  Probability of success as single unit: Unsatisfactory.  Proposed solution: Gain secondary and/or tertiary Hunters.  Propose equal split of bounty.  Status: Acceptable***

with his mind made up the droid, who had begun taking to the nickname of 'James' send out a posting to other hunters for a request to undertake a joint venture in apprehending *with extreme prejudice* the aforementioned target.  Now all that was left was to make his way to Commenor and hope that another Hunter would accept his request and meet him there.

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

The course was laid in for Commenor and everyone was on auto-pilot.  There was nothing else that needed done until the ship was ready to drop out of hypserspace.  Once the course was executed, there would be nothing to do for the next 3 days but wait for the warning indicator.

OOC: This is the time to do research, ask questions, etc.

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

Being a droid had its own advantages.  James could go without sleep, food, or any of those other messy bodily functions that organics had to deal with on a daily basis.  This means that when James put his mechanical mind to it, the action was exceedingly efficient.

For three days till Commenor he scoured the holonet and bounty hunter files to piece together an accurate profile of the target.  Mannerisms, habits, hangouts, schedules, known associates, anything and everything that could possibly fill in the picture (or in this case targeting reticule) that was Klevelin.

OOC: Names and locations of known accomplices, any frequented areas of Commenor. Cop show stuff.

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

The computer comes back with the following information after many hours of processing.

Name: Klevelin Kturlkl
Accomplices: Anti-Hutt League
Locations: Republic High-Security Prison of Yag/Dhul
Background: A vocal opponent to the Hutt enslavement of the Weequay people and planet. Lead many riots demanding freedom.  Was arrested by the Hutts and sent to trial.  The trial was attacked and he was rescued by allies.  Was arrested 2 years later on a Republic world after killing a Hutt delegation on world.  Sent to a high-level prison on Yag'Dhul.  Was broken out of prison 2 weeks ago and reported re-captured. Was brought to Commenor to turn over to Republic, but was able to kill the bounty hunters who had captured him and flee the republic troops.

Suspect is extremely dangerous!! Approach with caution!

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

***Information: Saved successfully!***

->run information search: "Anti-Hutt League" + "Commenor"
->run information search: "Commenor wealth distribution/topological map"
->run information search: "Commenor spaceport locations"

***

Not much more information was gleamed, but that was to be expected.  James was not a particularly clever droid.  Accurate and deadly? Most assuredly.  Strong and durable? Acceptably. Intellectually?  Well... daddy never liked it when he thought droids were smarter than him.  He went through so many astromechs...

***run sound file: forlorn sigh.mlx***

As James' sub-processors brought up memories of his creator, the usual behavioral tick of soft sobbing began as he ran the other inquiries while his higher functions when though a logical process.  If he escaped on Commenor, he will go to ground for a while, and attempt to reestablish contact with AHL.  Likely scenario will attempt transport off world.  Proposed solution: Contact common and higher spaceports to confirm heightened security.  Force restriction of variables to lower end/illegal transports.  Proceed from there.

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

Anti-Hutt league is listed as a terrorist organization by the Hutt Cartel.  They are a group of ex-slaves who seek to overthrow the Hutt slave market and free the planets and individuals from Hutt control.

No previous known interaction with Commenor.

Commenor has a few major cities, each with a spaceport.  There are a few other in the less populated areas, mainly used for cargo and inter-planet shuttles.

Commenor reports that parts of the city of Hanigo are currently locked down due to severe weather. There are no reports from Commenor of the Republic news outlets of Klevelin or any prison break.

***Preliminary Information Gathering: Complete***
-> proceed to Commenor
-> gauge local situation
-> run executables: Locate,Infiltrate,Eliminate

Finishing the initial sweep of the holonet, James buttoned up for the rest of the trip to Commenor.  The local government was keeping it under wraps, which means they still have some form of control over the situation.  Hopefully this wouldn't me too much like finding a needle in a haystack

OOC: proceed to Commenor

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

The trip to Commenor was uneventful. Nothing bad happened to the ship, and the transition back to realspace was smooth.  Once the ship was out, and approaching the planet, it was hailed.

"Approaching unidentified ship. Please state your designation, cargo, port of origin, and reason for approach."

This was a standard request for almost every planet in known space, and there were many other ships nearby either leaving or approaching the planet.

There is a delay of a few minutes before the traffic control replies.

"Credetials check out. You have permission to land. A party will be awaiting you at section Beta, row 7, landing bay 94."

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

"Roger roger." James replied, setting the coarse into the appropriate landing bay.  Before the ship landed, James checked his weapon; ammo pack, electronics, sights, and then himself.  In a personal mirror James looked at himself and practiced his facial expressions.  It was prudent to set the organics at ease and to convey a presence of skill and efficiency.  Happy, sad, angry, confident, James cycled through these again and again till the ship landed in landing bay 94.

Exiting the ship with his weapon secured in the actuating holster on his shoulder, James mentally prepared himself to meet with this 'delegation' with an intense stoney determination on his face; preset #643.

A small group of 4 security troops were standing just outside of the landing zone. They waited for the ship's ramp to descend and did not react when they saw a droid walk out.  After a moment with no other beings walking out of the ship, the lead trooper looked at the droid.

"Where is your master? We need to talk to him before you are allowed to leave the spaceport."

"One moment.  Calling."

cocking his head to the side and opening his mouth, James mimicked the sound of a hailing comm.

***Load audio/voice profile***

Cocking his head back to the center, "Yes hello?  Hello?  Can you hear me?  Did my droid make it there alright?"

The lead security guard looked a little confused.

"Yes, your droid is here. We need you to exit the ship so we can check your credentials. We need them of you, your droid, and any passengers on board."

"Good...ah good.  Well then, the droid gave you it's credentials yes?  That should be plenty for you.  I assure you, he is a fully qualified bounty hunter.  I and no other passengers are on board.  James, there ARE no other passengers on board?"

"Yes sir."

"Good, that settles that then.  After all, I'm no bounty hunter."

Re: B4D4.55: The Hunt and Nothing But the Hunt

The lead guard looked at BdD4 for a moment then grumbled something to himself.

"Fine. Just do not cause any trouble or give me any reason to arrest you. And be careful. Not everone likes the idea of a free-roaming droid."

The guard then motions to his men and they turn and walk away.
