Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The Knotted Lekku was a dive cantina. Not the grimy and diseased rathskellers of Tatooine or Nar Shaddaa though. It was a lounge for the likes of nobility and senators as much as ship captain’s and the rare Jedi. Somewhere someone can stop to rest, to recover from nameless heartbreak and career threatening shame. The natural wood doors a rarely seen delight, opened manually with a rustic scrape. A change from the usual wooshing of powered ones. The interior just as warm and welcoming as the doors, the smell of expensive liquor and heady cigar smoke instantly fills the senses. The walls and booths were all of the same Northen Hills pine, noted by the darker and more knot-filled wood. Lights were few, and only hung above a few selected tables. The only other source coming from the dotted holo-tables, their eerie blue a contrast to the others’ dark yellows.

As he entered he looked around the cantina seeing if Jace had arrived yet. Not seeing her he takes seat at one unlit holo-tables ordering a drink while he waits.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Only a minutes or two after Roq arrived Jase entered wearing black soft leather pants and a velvety royal blue shirt, The Knotted Lekku. It was not her type of establishment, too wealthy for her tastes, but she had met a client or two here before. It was neutral territory, the bouncers keeping fights to a minimum and if they did break out they were short with the instigators usually bloodied and thrown out.

She scanned the patrons until her eyes fell upon Roq. She kept her eyes on him long enough for him to realize she had recognized him before she approached. She walked up and took the seat across from him, her back to a wall. She pushed her leather bag between her feet under the table, keeping contact with it always.

"Good evening."

When the waitress delivered Roq's drink, she ordered one for herself.

As they got closer to the warehouse the traffic thinned out considerably.  A few loading droids and other scattered individuals were moving around but most seemed to mind their own business.

The spaceport was always busy with beings of all types moving from one location to another. The constant arrival and departure of new ships just added to the barely controlled chaos.

There were always ships willing to take someone off world with no questions asked. They usually charged more, due to the potential nature of their passengers.  And they were not always the most reliable or honorable pilots.  But they could be found to someone with knowledge of the port and the nature of pilots in general.

Hello, I will be taking over adjudication of this story line.
I am working on getting up to speed on where the two of you are at and then working on where to go with it.

There is a bit of reading to do, though if you could both help me with a Synopsis (either privately or publicly in this thread) it would be of much help. Info such as Who your contacts/enemies and your personal goals/objectives are.

I may or may not keep the complete direction the story was going, trying to build a outlook and arc for how to proceed.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

OOC:
I can write a synopsis from Jase's point of view.

In her attempt to become noticed as a slicer, Jase hacked into a communication feed of Roq's with his boss during a time where I believe player characters (one bounty hunter, one hunted) were shooting at each other in Tatooine. It was her attempt at a job interview. In the aftermath, she discovered that the team was looking for a slicer to help them out on a job, unfortunately the planet became too hot for either her or Roq to stay on it. During their second meeting, they discovered they were being followed. They escaped and ran toward the spaceport to get off-planet. Right now they are looking for a ship which will not ask too many questions that is leaving to either pay their way or hire themselves on as extra hands.

Right before the meeting, Jase was hired to set up a system for a Hutt. She has yet to be paid for this job, but was promised payment and perhaps a bonus for a job well done. This is where she is trying to get the money to get off-world.

OOC:
synopsis from Roq's point of view.

Looking to go after the hutt crimelord that had his wife killed, Roq joined an anti hutt group that was planning on raiding a hutt compound. After escaping a shootout between a couple of bounty hunters, he was contacted by Jace offering to help out on the raid. Unfortunately nately the planet became too hot for either him or Jace to stay on it. During their second meeting, they discovered they were being followed worrying him that the hutt may have found him. They escaped and ran toward the spaceport to get off-planet. Right now they are looking for a ship which will not ask too many questions that is leaving to either pay their way or hire themselves on as extra hands.

Roq is basically a marked man and anyone that the hutt crimelord finds out Roq's interacted with will also be marked.
As for Roqs personal goal it is to get revenge on the hutt crimelord that had his wife killed.

As for the other two options, she had a record, going to the Core World of Coruscant did not seem promising, but it might be her only option. "I don't think we should go to Kashyyyk. Know anything about Kwenn Station? How safe do you think it would be to go to Coruscant?" she asked Roq, after looking at their options.

As for the other two options, he had never heard of kwenn station before which made it hard to decide on it. Coruscant they might be able to hide out for awhile, but considering how far reaching the syndicate was he didn't know how long. "I agree Kashyyyk is a no go. Never heard of the station before. The Slosso is Run by a Sullutan Named Grieb Toolmb. Yes you know him, A straight, Law-abiding trader that sticks pretty much to core-ward transport of bulk products. Not making a whole lot, but easily making the bills and staying safe. Likely a good bet H would take you on cheap, but it would keep you in the core territories and exposed to Republic authorities.

The Rakkto is run by a Duros Smuggler by the Name of Miko Shantra. She is fairly well known, transporting anything from spice to slaves, what ever will bring the biggest profit. Has a strong reputation for being able to evade authorities and the Ship itself is known for having a strong arsenal. Though the Rakkto is wanted by Several organizations, with bounties out for the capture of Miko, They seem to have kept themselves clear of any actual warrants from the Republic themselves.

The Rabid Bantha is Run by a Trandoshan Smuggler/Bounty hunter Named Risshkith. This one you are not as familiar with, but Trandoshans have their own reputations.

Kwenn Station is a rather new, within the last 2 centuries, Space station that is often refereed to the Gate way to Hutt Space. It is the easiest route into Hutt Space from the core words, Surprisingly enough, The route from Commenor to Kwenn also follows the same Hyper lanes as that which goes to Kashyyyk. But then, That is just the most Direct route. Kwenn station is a Large space station that serves as a port of service as well as a transfer point for the sale of many goods going in and out of Hutt space in several directions.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

As they were walking towards the freighters, Jase whispered the information she knew about each of the ships and their captains. As to the destinations, she said nothing about Coruscant and Kashyyyk, but relayed what she remembered about Kwenn Station. Turning to Roq, "I think we go with The Rakkto and her captain, Miko Shantra. Hopefully she does not have your bounty."

Jase packed her gear back into her bag once she had determined which of the three ships she was most interested in. Her palms were slightly sweaty, she wiped them on her pants, struggling not to look behind her.

She did not wait too long for a response, but instead approached the ship, looking for a crew member or if she were lucky, Captain Shantra herself.

Making sure he stayed close to her and keeping an eye out for trouble. The bounty hunters didn't worry him but the hutts men did.

"Ah well, Kashyyyk is On the way, About half way. I hear there is some good money in collecting bio-phosphorescence from some of the Deep forrest creatures.. Dangerous work though. Also, well.. if your interested, that is since you don't have a ship and we do. There is a Open contract to bring a Kashyyykian giant weaver alive to of Hutt space. The boss hasn't gone after it because she doesn't have the crew to attempt. The Contract is for 50k credits. If your interested, we could talk with the Boss and work a deal. The Only other Planets between here and Kwenn is Zeltros, Umbra, Randon, and Ubrikkia. You would be worse off looking for work on those planets than you are here. Though, truth told. If you looking for work, and looking to get out of sight. Kwenn station is a Major hub. Always work to be had out of there. That is Why the boss is going there and not taking out shipment all the way into Hutt space." Now if you were looking to find your way into an otherwise secure location, I could help you with that," she said, glancing at Roq. "I say we try Kwenn Station."

I was getting desperate for way to make credits, and thats when I met the syndicates hutt leader Alitnt who offered me a deal. A deal I regret accepting. I take a fall in the second round against a young rookie. jump starting his career and I get a big payout-"

He pauses and starts shaking his head. "But the kid they wanted to jump start shouldn't have been in the ring. he shouldn't have. 40 seconds into the first round I gave him a blow to the head that caused him to go into a coma.  Alitnt lost a lot of credits and decided to take it out in blood." Tears started to well up in his eyes as he continued.

"When I got home I found his armed thugs there with my wife dead on the floor. One of them held a blaster to my head but instead of killing me he told me.
"I'm going to let you live. But we'll be watching you. Not every day, but when you least expect it, we'll be watching. If you try to connect with anyone, get any closer than paying a street vendor for a meal, and they will die. But it won't be  us killing them. It will be you. And we won't stop until you stop. Until you choose to take your own life, we will not rest. You screwed with the wrong people. She sat there, knuckles white on the bed frame and she attempted to control the trembles that were sure to start if she let go. She looked downwards, so he could not see the vulnerability in her eyes. She waited until the coldness, the stillness that fell upon her when she was working overtook her and only then did she look up.

"So you are telling me I am marked for death? Is there anyone in particular amongst the Black Sun? Someone you wronged that we can somehow change his mind or make dead?" She asked. Her voice held no waiver, it was dark but not at Roq, at the situation.

what you learn.

#1 general information about Bespin and cloud cities purpose, exports and imports, galactic interests.

#2 Currently Owned by Alitnt's holding compnay, Managed by a Twi'lek by the name of Ruusero.

#3 currently in some financial crisis. Another Tibanna gas conglomerate was formed when another Gas giant was found containing a large percentage of the gas used in blaster weapons production. Cloud City has done some major discounting on their products to keep certain clients from switching providers.

#4 It appears Alitnt, or Ruusero (it is unclear which is behind it) has been doing some creative accounting. The Reported profits and Share values of the company do not appear to match up with the shipments that have been going out.

#5 It appears a lot of promotion has been going on to increase tourism to the Facility. Sweet vacation packages being offered and Large events have been being held. There has also apparently been a spree of Large Jackpot Winners from the Casinos, but these payouts don't seem to be reflected in the Financials of the companies records.

#6 there are two large events about to take place in he next month. One is a Galactic High stakes Sabaac Tournament. The second is a Shock Boxer Match. It appears that Alitnt has managed to entice the Shock Bxoing federation to Hold their Championship competition there. The Top 24 competitors will be coming into Cloud city to fight it out in a Single Elimination tiered Event that will be spread over 4 weeks of the next month.

She looked up and shared the basics of what she learned, "Not surprisingly Alitnt is in major debt and has been leveraging everything he can to stay afloat. Amazingly he has been able to convince large federations, such as the Shock Boxing Federation to support tournaments on cloud city. I think we can create a big splash by trying the indirect approach of unanimously providing this information to either a large news organization or to someone that matters in the Federation OR we could do something more direct and destroy the assets associated with Managed, Alitnt's holding company for cloud city or approach Ruusero, the Twi'lek in charge of said holding company."

She closed the connection after verifying it was saved on her datapad and turned to Roq, curious as to what his opinion was on the matter.

As she spoke, Jase realized she missed a vital piece of information, she went back and re-read what she had gathered, it had to be here, Who were the Hutt's creditors?

"Thanks for joining me. I have a proposition for the two of you. I am currently carrying a Cargo of Alderanian wine, which isn't a problem really anywhere in the galaxy. An okay profit, but nothing spectacular. The Real profit is in a Smaller Cargo I am carrying for a Different customer. It's on the down low, as it were. I am not completely sure of who the End customer is. I just have a Name to contact once we arrive at Kwenn. The profit is Good... Perhaps to good, but I couldn't pass it up right now, we could really use the credits right now.
So what I am looking for from you is if you"
She looks at Jase, "can help identify who the Receivers are working for so I know what I am going into. and if you Roq, Would be interested in acting as my backup or Bodyguard when I make delivery, Just in case they try to stiff me on he Payment, Or stiff me Literally, Into my grave."

She looked at Roq, they had talked, a lot, in the past few days, become more of a cohesive unit instead of two strangers, "We are interested in helping out, what are you offering in exchange?"

He looked at Jace, they had learned a lot about each other, he felt like he could trust her and that they had each others back. "Yes what do we get. I assume that a portion of the credits from the job will go to us?"

Jase was cautiously optimistic, she had a new home and more people she could trust.

Later, in their room, she asked Roq, "Are you concerned that your slug might see this crew as friends?"

OOC: I don't need to know the price as a player, just know that there is a price the Captain is seeking. Also once in the system, Jase will use her computer skills to locate the current Market boards to find a buyer. Depending on what she finds relating to Alderaan Wine, she might even manipulate other Captain's prices to make it seem like Miko's slightly higher price is still the best price.
