Re: Commenor: The Meeting

"I got nothing new on the Slug, we are going to have to find another way to figure out how to get at him," she said. And more quietly, despite them being in their berth, she said, "Do you worry that we bunked with people who are working for the Slug?"

When she finished typing and chatting with her partner, she stood and went in search of the Captain. When she found Miko, she told her the information she discovered on Horruke, leaving nothing out. She made sure to show the fragment of communication she discovered about the Battle Droid Program Chips, she suspected they were highly illegal and could carry a heavy sentence if they were caught.

OOC:
Not a problem. I hope that everything is okay now.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

OOC: Nothing Unusual for me anymore, part of why I am not able to work right now... I have episodes that make life difficult every month or two lately. :-) Thanks for the concern :-)

Miko, looks perplexed and then replies, "Why have me bring the cargo here to Kwen station if it was just going to end up at Cloud City? It would have been faster and More direct to take it directly there... Horukke could have still made a profit on the Brokerage, saved time and money shipping it twice."

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

"Well that's not surprising, I'm sure an opportunity will present itself eventually," he replies, caustically looking around, he lowered his voice and replied, "Of course but for now we need them, also we might be able to learn stuff about the slugs operations."After talking with his partner, he stood up and followed her to the captain. Staying by her side as gave her findings to the captain. "Could be a security measure or they don't think we can make a successful delivery to cloud city. Maybe they think we might double cross them and want to the cargo themselves."

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

OOC: Sorry for the delay, I missed the fact that both of you had posted.

No expert in smuggling, Jase was unsure why Horukke would have his card shipped twice. "Roq does have a point, perhaps you are not as trusted as you thought or maybe Horukke does not want it traced back to him on Tattooine and is hoping the exchange of hands at a large port will obscure where it came from originally."

Miko Nods, "I am not really that familiar with Horruke. And they are likely trying to keep the finale destination a secret for some reason.  Did you see anything in what you found to indicate we might be walking into trouble?"

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Jase shook her head, "I did not see any indications that you are walking into a trap, but that does not mean you are not walking into trouble, it just means it was not communicated through any means that I could discover."

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

"Just give me a moment with the comlinks to verify the communication is encrypted and then I think we are set. A girl can never be too careful. How long will you be on the station and do you mind if we stay on past it or do you want to call it after this mission?"

After receiving the comlink pair, Jase connects them to her datapad and does verify the encryption, but, in addition, she would like to make sure and create a separate private channel for Roq and her.

OOC: let me know what I need to roll for the hacking of the comlink and if my Codebreaker talent applies.

Miko Thinks for a momment, "We will see how things go with the Delivery. Plus I would to secure a Cargo off station. I always like to get some maintenance done, but lets see what happens...
Jase, If your up for it. I would Like you to do what you can to monitor the situation out there. Tap into what resources you can to see what we are walking into and make sure no one comes to interrupt the transaction. Roc, your with me. Looks like we are to take Turbo Lift 19 to level 32 in the Red light district. Suite 697 is our destination there."

Roq nodded at Miko. "Alright if things go south how do you want to play it. Leave no one breathing or leave survivors to send a message to their boss?"

Jase pulled out her datapad, sat down at the communal table and began typing, "I will see what I can do about tapping into the systems and give you a heads up before things go south and if they do provide a way that you can get back to the ship with minimal interference."

OOC: Let me know what you want me to roll (I will be using the talent, Codebreaker since I am breaking into something) for both modifying the comlinks and breaking into the feeds.

"The deal is going down tonight.  They do not know you yet, so I want you to go in before and look things over.  Make sure this is not an obvious trap. I want you to get there about an hour early and look for anything or anyone suspicious."

OOC:
4D to tap into the systems.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Having already made arrangements with Miko to stay as far away as possible from the meeting point, Jase found a secure, darkened booth in a local Cantina, ordered the local beer and began hacking into the security system. With fast fingers, she was in quickly, able to discern the situation and report to Roq on their private comlinks.

"I got eyes on the situation and will let you know if anything looks suspicious from here."

To everyone she reported, "I am in."

(OOC: They secured a pair of comlinks that Jase happily modified)

I was not sure if codebreaking applied so I rolled twice, once with and once without, both successful.

09:04, Today: Jase Mason rolled 1 success, 1 advantage using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2p 4D.  Computers.
09:04, Today: Jase Mason rolled 3 successes, 1 threat using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2p 3D.  Computers (Codebreaking).

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Having made arrangements with Miko to be dropped off near the meeting point, Roq found a spot where he could be dropped off where anyone watching could not notice he was with them, and started making his way to the meeting point checking around to see if there was any sign of trouble.

"Good to know you have my back. Anything catching your eyes."

The street was busy with the normal flow of traffic.  Nothing stood out from the ordinary.

Jase:  Random chatter, but nothing specific to the mission.

Roq:  3D perception check.

It is about 15 minutes before the meeting and you do not notice anything strange or worrysome.

It appears everything is legit.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The situation looked normal and there were no causes for alarm.  As the five minute mark approached, a hooded figure with a few bodyguards who tried to blend in were visible approaching the site.  They walked inside and disappeared towards the back.

A message came across the comms about thirty seconds later.  "We are in route. Everything still good?"

OOC:

Sure.  3D computer/slicer/whatever check works for the security systems.

"I am checking the vid screens to verify there is no type of ambush, security or otherwise," Jase reported to all members of the crew.

OOC:
I used codebreaking (which reduces the difficulty by one) because that is what she is doing, let me know if you want a normal die roll.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The security system at the hotel was surprisingly easy to break into.  Their camera system was a bit out of date and some of the cameras were no longer functioning.  But Jase did have a clear view of the suite as well as the main and secondary entrances.

[Private to Jase Mason: You cannot see inside the suite, but everything looks quiet in the hotel.]
