Re: Commenor: The Meeting

After typing furiously and lots of choice swear words, Jase reported to Roq, "I got nothing on the scanners and am unable to affect the locks. You are on your own Roq."

OOC: It would seem that we are out of luck:

Used Code breaking
12:22, Today: Jase Mason rolled no successes, 1 advantage using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2p 3D.  Computers (Codebreaking).

In case you don't want me to use code breaking
12:22, Today: Jase Mason rolled 3 failures, 4 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2p 4D.  Computers.

Is it possible to use Destiny? We've never talked about whether or not there are light/dark side destiny chits available.

OOC:

We never setup a pool at the start.  At least, I do not think you did. I was not running your stories at the start.

For the moment it works better if you DO fail this check, so I am going to run with that if you are ok with it.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The feed on Jase's monitor came back as suddenly as it dropped.  Everything was calm and clear in the hallways and there were no signs of the Hutt.  Just a few service droids moving about.

Roq stood firm, but never ran into the Hutt.  He was sure they would have crossed paths by now based on their movement speed.  But there was nothing to be seen around him except a cleaning droid.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

"Strange," Jase mumbled to herself as she poked around the feeds. Could this all have been her imagination? She spent some time verifying that her feeds had not been tampered with, making sure she had not received a pre-recorded feed.

On her comlink to the group, "Captain, where and when is Roq supposed to be meeting your contact? This waiting around is making me nervous."

Roq glanced around as he walked down the hallways. He didn't like the looks of the situation it was quiet too quiet for him. Could he be walking into a trap. Making sure there wasn't anyone in the halls ahead of him he continued to make his way out the hotel.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Only static answered Jase.  It was not the normal sounding background static, but something similar. But something about it bugged her on a subconscious level.

Roq turned the corner and was greeted by two large and annoyed looking Weequays. "No one goes down this hallway. Back to your room."

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

OOC: Is there static on both comlink channels, the public one with the crew as well as the private, encrypted one with Roq?  In either case she would like to investigate it further, hooking the comlink up to her datapad and see what is going on if possible.

OOC: Is it possible to figure out what is causing the static with my computer skills? If so, what is the difficulty and would it be considered 'code breaking'?

4D to find the source and then another 4D to break. you can use code breaking for the second one.

Back on her datapad, Jase typed furiously attempting to figure out what was going on. She quickly located the source of the static and with a few deft scripts and lucky breaks, broke the code.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The source of the static was coming from inside the hotel. It appeared someone was physically on the inside and connected to its systems and were using them to jam communications.

Roq made his way to the elevators where two Gamorreans stood on either side.

Aware that she was being physically jammed, Jase resolved to head towards the hotel and see what she could do to help there.

Unable to communicate with Roq or anyone in the vicinity of the hotel, Jase put away her datapad and slipped into the crowded streets toward the hotel.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Knowing that the elevators  were the only way off the floor, Roq knew he had to fight the gamorreans  and he had to do it quickly before anyone noticed.

Unable to contact Jace or the rest of the crew he was on his own, putting on his shock gloves and walked towards the elevator trying to  look non threatening as possible. Walking up  the gamorreans he says. "Hey I'm a bit lost do you know where." and  quickly throw a sucker punch at the one on the left.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The Gamorrean was taken by surprise and dropped to the floor.  The other looked at him in shock for a moment before turning to bring his vibroaxe up and point at Roq.

Jase approached the hotel and did not see anything to indicate she was being followed.  There were a strange pair of Trandoshans standing outside who looked armed and nervously scanning the crowd.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Fighting was not her forte, in fact, she preferred to either talk her way out of a situation or better yet, sneak her way inside. These two did not appear to be the talkative type.

Jase glanced around and found a place that was out of sight of the Transdoshans, and cameras and pulled out her datapad. On it, she looked for the schematics of the hotel she was staring at, attempting to locate a backdoor.

Roq moves out the way, and throws a haymaker at his face.  Trying to end the fight as  quickly as possible. Trying wanting to draw out the fight in case there were more guards nearby.

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

The Gamorrean took the punch and swayed on its feet.  It was not enough to knock it over, but enough to stun it.  Just then, the turbolift doors opened.

A Devaronian and a human were inside.  The human woman looked at the scene before commenting:  "Well, wrong floor I think".

Jase was able to stay outside of the Trandoshans sight as she found that all outside doors except one were locked on the hotel.  That was a service entrance around the rear.

Before approaching the unlocked door, Jase glanced around, attempting to discern if there were any cameras or other surveillance equipment. One she was assured she was safe, she approached the service door and entered the hotel.

Perhaps once inside I can find a way to communicate with Roq, using a hard line maybe?

Re: Commenor: The Meeting

Before the gammorrean could recover, Roq jumped into the elevator,  hitting the shut turbolift door button as he did smiling and waving goodbye at the gammorreans as the turbolifts door closed. Pressing the lobby button he straightened himself up. Upon realizing he was not alone in the turbolift, he looks at the devaronian and human with an awkward smile and says. "Uhh, lovely weather were having today heh heh."
