Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Jax hits the panel and opens the door. "My apologies Quartermaster, it was not my intention to cause you inconvinence, I simply didn't want to walk in unannounced."

Jax walks over to Aleeko and hands him the datapad. This doesn't seem like it is going to be an enjoyable interaction...

"Quartermaster, Master Ulric sent me to see you to collect supplies for an upcoming operation."

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Aleeko took the datapad from Nilar's hand and waved him away with the other.  "Yeah, yeah, yeah.  Master Someone ordered some of MY equipment for Jedi Whoever for a mission on planet whats-its-name.  It is always the same.  I order and catalog and repair and modify your equipment.  Then you Jedi take it and use it. Lose it. Break it. Destroy it. Leave it behind.  Then I need to take it and fix it and order new things to replace the ones you lose.  And no one ever cares about the equipment guy down in the basement."

He looked over the datapad and sighed.  "Great.  Another order for some hard to repair and easily breakable parts.  And I am SURE these will all come back in proper and working order."

He made a few notes and handed the datapad over.  "Sign off here, here, here, there, here, initial here, and sign here.  That will cover you and me and give me lots of paperwork to file. Since we all know I love paperwork."

Jax takes the datapad back and signs in the all the indicated spots. "Can you let me know everything that you are issuing to me? I want to make sure I know what I start with so I can return it all when I am done."

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Aleeko took the datapad back and checked the signatures.  "There is a detailed list in here.  You just signed off on it.  Did you not even read what you signed? Do you Jedi trainees not read anymore?  Is that skill not taught?"

He taps out a few commands and then thrusts the datapad out.  "Here is your list. You want to read it this time?"

Jax reads over the list. Hoping he can get out of the supply room and away from the Quartermaster as soon as possible.

When I read the list, I was hoping to actually learn what was on it.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

OOC:  Honestly it is just a catch-all, beaurecratic thing.  I was doing this as your chance to request items, and to revisit a crazy character I created for someone else.  I really liked how he turned out and wanted to use him again.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Got it, I like how you made him, I would imagine the guy who has to do gear tracking and stuff for space wizards would get pretty tired of doing it.

I guess the only thing would be a real lightsaber instead of a training one.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

OOC:  Right.  He gets really tired of being told to repair/fix/find things, then see them destroyed or used or forgotten.  And he is not force sensitive, all he sees is his job in the basement fixing toys for these crazy space wizards.  But he is so good at the job they do not want to get rid of him.

Exactly, have you read Harry Potter? The janitor at the wizard school is essentially the same character as this.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Not sure if you saw above, but the only gear I'd want that I don't have is a real lightsaber. If that your intention, cool, otherwise it could be nice to have.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Seeing the request for the lightsaber, Aleeko just sighs and shakes his head.  "Yeah, like you are the first trainee to try and pull that.  You want a real flashy sword, go talk to your master. That is his job, not mine."

OOC: He has nothing to do with getting a real saber.  Now, if you mentioned it to a Master...

Jax sighs, "Thank you, I'll mention it to one of them."

After taking his datapad back Jax heads back to his room at the Temple to rest for a bit. Before he turns in he sends a message to Master Ulric.

++Master, I know I was required to turn in my lightsaber when I took my leave of the Order. However, I was hoping it could be restored to me for this upcoming mission.++

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Master Ulric sent a response about an hour later.

++Normally I would say you would have to wait, but this is a special occassion.  Due to the potential sith involvement, I would not want to send you out there unarmed.  That would be a terrible idea.  I will have it brought out of storage and ready for you in the morning.  Meet me in my office then.++

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Elated to read that his weapon was being returned to him, Jax found it hard to fall asleep after he went to bed. Eventually fatigue overcame him and he fell into a restless sleep. Upon waking, Jax does a physical fitness routine, freshens up, and heads to Master Ulric's office.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

The hallway before Master Ulric's office seemed busier then normal.  Jedi of different ranks moved through the hallways, and there were a few droids as well.  Things seemed tense and the Force was almost buzzing with excitement, confusion, and a hint of worry.

Master Ulric was invovled in a holo discussion with 2 other Masters when Jax walked in.  He also had 3 other Jedi waiting to talk to him.  All looked uneasy and on edge.  On seeing Jax walk in, Master Ulric waved him towards one of the couches in his office.

"....going to cause any issues.  I know we planned for this but I am not sure this is the right time.  I hear there is some unrest and possibly even riots on his homeworld.  And with this sighting today, I am not sure this is the best use of our resources.  I think we should postpone this and handle the current issues."

The 3 Jedi waiting by the couches looked nervous and were not even trying to hide it in the force.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Jax takes the offered seat and decides to meditate while waiting. He slows his breathing, relaxes his muscles, and attempts to create an eddy in the Force. This bubble is a field of calm amongst the high tension surroundings.

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

The tension and anxiousness in the office slowly poured into Jax's bubble of calm and slowly started to influence him.  Jax found it harder and harder to concentrate and drown out the nervous movements of the Jedi and the loud conversation of Master Ulric.  Parts of that conversation started to bleed into his meditation.

"...going to cause an issue.... full state dinner is ridiculous...  missing transport should be worrisome... his world is panicking and he is hiding here... evidence of Sith movements is increasing... Master Pollis's killer was spotted... construction is on target... training droids in repair shop ...another complaint about Aleeko"

With the mention of Pollis' killer the bubble popped quickly. Jax pulled himself off the couch and approached Ulric. "Sorry to intrude, but you have information about Master Pollis' killer? What have you heard?"

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Master Ulric paused his conversation and looked at Jax. He nodded and motioned him back over to the others so he could finish his conversation with the other 2 masters.

One of the Jedi on the side looked at Jax for a moment and then asked: "Did you know Master Pollis? Or hear about the circumstances around her death?"

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Just a heads up, Master Pollis was female

Jax turned back to his seat, dejected due to the concealed knowledge about his former master. However when the other master addressed him he turned back and said "Yes, I was assigned to work with Master Pollis immediately following my promotion to knight. I was with her on Umbara when she was killed."

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

OOC: I knew that.  And there is no record to prove otherwise....

The Jedi shook his head sadly.  "I am sorry to hear that. She was highly respected and a great Jedi. Her death was a blow to the Order itself."

As he said this, Master Ulric ended his holocommunication with the other Jedi Masters.  He turned to the assembled Jedi at his side and paused for a moment. He seemed tired, fatigued, and not at all pleased.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting.  It seems events are occurign at a faster pace then normal and I am one of the few Council Masters on planet at the moment.  There is a big reception that is being prepared..." He trailed off and then cleared his throat. "That is not your concern.  You are here for various assignments.  And I will hand them out immedietly.  Before that..." He turns and reaches under his desk, and pulls out a lightsaber.  He turns it around and holds it hilt-first to Jax. "I believe you are here to reclaim this."

Re: Jax Nilar: Return to Duty

Just keeping you honest :)

Jax bowed to the other master, "I was excited to learn from her, though I won't be able to gather he lessons directly, I hope that the memory of her will instill her message in myself and the others that she knew."

Extending his hand to take the cold, metal cylinder from Ulric, Jax nodded and said "Thank you master, I shall not let you down."

With that he turned around and ignited the saber. The silvery-blue blade lept from the hilt, Jax could feel the energy flowing from the energy cell, through the crystal, and out of the emitter. Now content that it worked without fault, Jax shut down the saber and returned to his seat.
