by the way there is an Illustration of the Q'sa dreadnought up now :D.

Hmm I had a spinal mount charging....OH Yes and of course a Glamour shot of Prometheus and Kronos...Note to self: never annoy someone with a spinal mount available...

That's how the TAE got their first warships..ripping apart and rebuilding captured Najuhlim ships.

Re: Pacing

If anyone who does not have a character with skills suited for combat or operating a starship wishes to. they can either take control of a pre generated NPC, or create one.

I will allow people to have several so that they can be involved when the story veers off into an area they ae not specialized in.

anyone who wishes to tremain planet-side and begin investigations can do so. the confusion of a planet-wide alert may offer opportunities to gain access to locations and individuals that might not be available during regular situations.

Re: Pacing

Thanks :)

Got a small blurb up with racial information, still need to finalize prety much the entire character sheet but as a relatively new arrival in the hyperspace lanes it should at least mention a couple of things that would have been in the news.

Also, Aquans... They tried to colonize my planet and kind of... well, let's just say we've been learning to control the tech they left behind. They weren't using it anymore...

Hmmm... I think that her teeth look very nice, indeed.  It is a shame that Val never got to meet Aziza!

Re: Pacing

So - I'm happy to be on the ship but also I could start the investigation. Being that my skills for space are limited to gunnery 1 and pilot small craft and Vacc suit zero g fighting and we don't have our small craft yet I think others can cover gunnery or it may be automated. But I don't know - if I'm the only gunner I will gladly be on ship.

Re: Pacing

So.. Since we aren't able to do boarding parties does Audacious Rose require two gunners? Or are we better use investigating?

Yeah I'm more of sneaker and sniper.   Stealth 4 and slug rifle 5.  My investigate is only a 2.

Re: Pacing

lol, those skill levels are far higher than any I have.

In fact, I've no real applicable shipboard skills either.

My only claim to fame is the leader skill and Tactics(naval).

*whispers to Kendrick* in fact you might be a better investigator than me and I am the Marshal!

Re: Pacing

The rose can handle several gunners. Each system can be taen over by a single person or linked together so that one gune can fre every weapon on a single target.

Piot 1 means you have about the same skill as an Airforce pilot who has been in the service for a few years.

0 = raw recruit with training
1 = Serviceman with training and a few years service
2 = Senor serviceman with training and limited combat experience
3 = Ace pilot
4 = Baron Von Richthofen tips his hat when you come into the room

with a 4 in sniper you are on par with the best of the best.

Since this is a shipyard, they will always have more ships than pilots anyone who thinks they can handle a fighter could probably find one on the ramp. Paperwork is sure to follow the engagement of course.

Against Kraken the odds of boarding a living techno-organic warship full of crawlers and larvae are slim to none...but the odds of being boarded are very high. they launch swarms of larvae, and other bioweapons in close combat and those critters will attack turrets and antenna, as well as breach airlocks and cargo hatches if they can.

standard drill is to have people suited up and ready for EVA combat anytime Kraken or their brood creatures are suspected.

And as I mentioned if someone wants to stay ground side and poke around while the majority of the population is busy hiding under their beds or grabbing a rifle it might lead to chances that are not available normally.

More ship combat oriented NPCs are available for use if a player desires...

Gunner
Pilot
Ship commander

T'risa is actually very useful in a combat such as this...tactics and leadership are in short supply among commercial crews...which is why The Admiral tapped her to lead the Merchant reserve.

with your psionic voice, you can ignore jamming and electronic warfare when communicating with the other captains as well...and trust me there will be jamming...Teacher can cheat a bit and link you to the other captains in a temporary network.
