6.5 wow...She can almost afford a down payment on one of these

http://wbyrd.deviantart.com/ar...-Destroyer-560604231

Of course you may need to take out an extended term loan, and perhaps sell a few of the current parties less vital organs..it's only 3.773 Billion credits
But it has six cup holders, AC, AM/FM radio, and the best wet bar Valkiir technology can provide.

It also comes in a sporty blue

This is one of my new ships, I have been working with blender to get to a point i can actually model my own ships now :D

In reply to Tal Atvar (msg # 124):

Hi Tal, 5 terms ago I was a Marine. During that short tour I had two major battles and was trapped behind enemy lines thanks to the bonus mishap and bonus event rule I mentioned earlier. One of the battles was ship boarding with Nera.

Would you like to know me from the assault on enemy fortress? Or would you be one of the Army Pukes that rescued my tough but from behind enemy lines after the assault?

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

Actually it's Just a destroyer, the really big boats are in the 20K Displacement ton range...and don't even look a the price tag on a Dreadnought.

A 1% finders fee for recovering a Standard dreadnought is around 1 Billion credits...After the last adventure, and allowing for the group that didn't come over to the new story line..adjusting for their share  of the loot...The party could have a slightly Used Jelisi in the parking bay....but after the TAU Ministry of internal Finance  gets through you may be looking at a used ships boat..

However a few of you have enough money to pool and purchase a nice commercial vessel, corsair, or low end cutter/Barque ( basically a civilian armed vessel about 300-400 tons.) or if your feeling ambitious something along the line of a Merchantman. 700-1000 tons heavily armed and rigged for both commercial and combat use...lots of room for labs workshops, vehicles....but then you would have to hustle to make the upkeep on that puppy...and wages for the larger crew...unless you sweet talk T'risa out of some of her share  of the reward money

a big difference here is that these ships do not have to carry tons of jump fuel since I use the alternate Hyperdrives for this game..so you have more room to play with when you go fixing up your ships..That's whats taking so long have to go back and tweak my Mongoose designs to work with Hyperdrives.

How much money I'll have for a ship depends on how well S'viim is managing my investment portfolio and what else is broken on my dreadnought.

You have a dreadnought!?  Bought and paid for?  If so, why are we looking at itty little things like a destroyer, unless we can fit it in the hold of the dreadnought and use it for a run-around....

Yeah, what she said...:D  Well, actually, how much Elsbeth has is really more a function of T'rias's largess...

We have a salvaged dreadnought, but it is in the shop...;)

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

Its in the shop for years, it was buried under the sand of a dead world and got the ever loving hell shot out of it by Kronos.

Kronos Kicking ass in Atmo...Q'sa Zero Kronos one
quote:
The Missile latches on to the heat trail generated by M'kira's engines it;s radars lock on a second later. Streaking at supersonic speeds the missile closes the gap with frightening speed. Though fast the missile is has two weaknesses. It's too fast for the thrusters and airfoils that guide it, and it was programmed by a Najuhlim tech.... Both weakness give M'kira a slim chance of evasion so close to the ground.

The final dive Pushes M'kira into her restraints, pulling out of the dive slams her painfully into the the pading of her armor and acceleration couch. the Ground comes up to meet her and as she pulls out she can see the individual branches on a charred and wind twisted tree as it's upper branches streak past her cockpit. Behind her the missile slams into the ground sending up a geyser of smoke dust and dirt. For a second M'kira can breath easy...

As The agile Qetzl fighter crests a low rise M'kira gets a panoramic view of the ruins of an ancient city buried in a shallow valley. seven crystal spires rise high into the sky and the city seems to go on forever into the distance. As she streaks low over the city small arms fire streaks up at her pinging harmlessly off her armor.
Then ahead of her a sight she never expected to see, a charred and pitted orb of metal and glass rises out of a shallow crater. Larger than any dreadnaught in the Imperial fleet the craft blots out the sun as M'kira streaks under its hull.Smoke pours from thruster vents as some massive craft lurches into the air. The dull blackened hull gives the craft an menacing appearance, the spires rising from the upper surface glint with faceted crystal panels beginning to glow with a hateful green light.

As M'kira puts distance between herself and the massive ships her sensors scream warning as a surge of exotic particles warn of a Hyperspace rupture forming within Vid in the last year would instantly recognize the ship, Only the renegade AI warship Kronos had the four dagger shaped secondary hulls and massive spherical main hull that suddenly appeared over the two lifting ships.

No sooner than the spots clear from the entry flash a salvo of missiles plasma cannons and mass driver rounds slams into the second of the lifting ships. Kronos' deadly spinal mount cannons fire creating a sonic boom that is deafening even forty kilometers away, triple beams of pure disruptive energy slice through the targets unshielded hull as Kronos reels from the broadside unleashed by the lead orb.

As the burning hulk of the fatally wounded sphere ship crashes back to earth, Kronos and the Surviving ship engage in a point blank gunnery duel as they rise upwards with growing seed. swarms of insectoid fighters launch from the alien ship to duel with Kronos' fighter drones. The visual display lights up the sky well after the two ships are out of sight on the sensors of the Crow Aziza detects first one hyperspace jump then another as one ship attempts to escape into hyperspace.

One message comes in over the ships comm channels in the background a rich baritone voice howls in pure savage joy.“ we have this, you kids can go play….Damn…. Honey, would you just shoot the damn bitch and get us out of here..” the second voice on the comm is female and obviously not happy with someone.

the crew went and recovered the hulk and restored enough systems to manage one good shot from it's spinal mounts..into the ass of  an unsuspecting Q'sa dreadnought which was Happily blowing the crap out of the Dreadnought "Prometheus, and Kronos at teh same time....result is the Q'sa god queen "SHE" too off like a bat out of hell before she could manage to kill Prometheus....his chassis/dreadnought crashed but he lived...which is why SHE wants T'risa dead, dead, oh so frikking dead.

as it is the Dreadnought will be in the yard for years, and T'risa has a small...cough cough stipend from the TAE, and YAU Imperium to pay for them being able to research the ancient tech aboard the ship...and incorporate it into their own systems...

The Valkiir just shrugged, we have some ships we can sell you at a discount...trade you for those nifty alien thigamabons...Technically Balkiir, Elspeth, and Poppy also have a healthy paycheck coming, as does anyone who signs on to the team...

The way the trust is set up is that any crewman on her team gets paid out of the rewward funds...so once you are officialy apart of the team money and goodies are easy to find....stayingg alive whie playing with them is gonna be a Biscotti

S'viim is our trust fund manager.

Our research stipend also stipulates they have to repair our dreadnought too ;-)
Which T'risa is planning to use to create House T'risa as she's kinda fed up of the internal house politics.

T'risa's stipulations for buying a ship.
It has to have a powerful computer.
And a decent tactical station.
And be agile/quick

Nice to haves
Passenger berths (we ended up pulling a lot of sentients off Char in the end)
Weaponry and Shielding (for yay, we will have a scrap or two).

I'd go for the 600 tonner personally.
Round off the crew with poppy, tiny and their siblings :-)

We can always hire a cargo ship to bring us more ammunition and resupply.

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

That is what I was wondering, can we afford it, maybe if all of us pitch in we might have enough for 1/10 the price of the 600 tonne ship.   I might get some extra funds from Sal the MOOK, but the repayment plan is steep, and Tal really wouldn't recommend money from a loan shark, he/ she would probably want a favor or two for that type of cred.   Just how much money is the cost for one ship share anyway?   Like I said I have 17000 cr. after purchasing all my gear.

Wouldn't an old beat-up old freighter work just as well, that way we can modify it to our heart's content and the enemy wouldn't believe that we were a Q-ship.   Reference to WWII merchant raiders used by the Nazi's.    Aren't we starting this adventure on a shoestring anyway, most of us, if not all have very little funds to purchase a new or used ship, being that we either just mustered out of our various professions and into CASAR's lap, as it were.   What can CASAR give us for this endeavor or are there any other assets that either the Alliance or anyone else can supply for that matter.

So by rights, the cost of a basic bare bones ships is 270,000,000 cr..   Alex, you have three and Kendrick has two shares of ship stock and either elsbeth, Nera or T'risa have 6.54 mega cr., that isn't even enough to buy a laser torpedo as it were.   I knew Alex that my 17k wouldn't go very far, Cain said in a post that he had 60k and that amt. wouldn't even help our predicament.

How did you and Kendrick get the shares anyway, were you officers or such within your careers?

I can have either 6mega credits or 20 ship shares, but im technically supposed to use it to set up a defense contracting bussiness. 20 ship shares might be more economical I guess

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

Wow that must be from one of the expansion books 20% of the ship is frigging amazing!

I got 1 from drifter and 2 from psion.

A lot of the classes have ship shares as muster benefits.

There are a lot of cool add-ons to your weapons or armor you could spend that 17k on. A wafer Jack and some software could give you new skills in a limited way. There's other stuff too.
