Among the boulders and shards the M'n'Kuhl position themselves to engage creating a net around the Larvae to herd it into the guns of the larger better armed Pod Members.

The Larval Kraken reacts instantly when IooOoo'NackhAa opens fire, the first shot hitting its carapace and sending it rolling a shot distance in the almost non existant gravity of hyperspace.the Gatling laser should have torn any organic in half, with a solid hit. but it appears the Kraken is hardly damaged by the blast.



A painfully bright orb appears between the outstretched tentacles of the immature Kraken and then rips through space. the intensity and speed of the bolt almost identical to a shot fired from a plasma gun. The shot missing by a few centimeters leaving a faint trail of heated metal and peeled paint as it tears past.

the Pod reacts, Overlapping earsplitting pulses of radio noise, and gravitic energy fill the air the war song of a pod on a killing hunt making it almost impossible for anything but another M'n'kuhl to communicate withing kilometers of the pods center.

Joker rolls over and roars into A keening war scream aimed at the Kraken as he unloads a full salvo from his heavy machine guns. the 12mm rounds hammer into the creature's armor and draw blood, but ar less than it should have. it's armor appearing to be as heavy as a Marine's battledress at the very least.

IOUO Sings with rhythm as she focuses her mind on the creature. She lines up her target and feels it in the moment letting all her energy flow toward it with her gattling laser on auto-fire.

The pods song shifts Mirroring IOUO as the Kraken larvae maneuvers to fire again. the two end up in a spiraling twisting dance among the debris the Larva fast and agile but hemmed in by a wall of angry well armed M'n'Kuhl

IOUO's next burst was dead on target spinning the Larva wildly tearing holes in its carapace until it slammed into a drifting boulder and rebounded going limp and inert as it let out an earsplitting screech across several wavelengths.

Somewhere distant and Answering scream of anger and rage sounded, only far louder and intense enough to deafen every M'n'kuhl and man made receiver with a wide area.

When any of the pod could sense each other again there was a buzz of conversation and fear spreading across the local drift as one word one image was repeated "KRAKEN!"


ATTENTION ALL ARMED CRAFT DEFENSE CONDITION ONE! ASSEMBLE ZED POINT, XRAY ONE NINE FOR SYSTEM DEFENSE OPERATIONS sounded across the human network alerting everyone in the system to incoming attackers

IUOU flips and twirls in victory for only a moment until focused on the Kraken. She checks the location of the creature on sensors and compares it to the location designated by the defense alert.

Are these two threats or the same?

Iuou ca see that the humans in the area are moving to defend the Hyperspace stations in the area. The assembly point is close to the largest station in the drift, but the  Human scouts are heading in the direction of the Krakens signal. due to the dust and debris in the area, it can't be directly viewed but the noise of several dozen small creatures answering the Krakens alarm gives a very good idea which direction the larger Kraken is coming from.


OOC: there is one adult at least, and several immature Kraken with it..the assembly point is where local starships will assemble to defend. But the Kraken is still far outside the system.

Also, it is likely this is a large Kraken. few of them will come close to an inhabited well-defended system since they are usually outnumbered by fighters and  local defense squadrons.

IUOU sings a battle cry thrilled with victory that many clans will now join them in one fight. She translates the emergency alert and the signals on her sensors to the others.

This will earn us all marks of prestige and status for the next mate! she challenges. She sends a standard human message indicating the M'nakul will be arriving by such a vector to assist. </blue>

She moves to the assembly with those of the hunting party who wish to join. On the way she ensures the fusion gun is also powered and ready in addition to the laser.
