Summary

The presumed extraterrestrial biological entities (EBEs) designated TUNGSTEN MEMENTO are humanoids with extensive surgical modification.  They are capable of passing for human under close visual inspection and in conversation.  Additional surgical modifications provide full-body ballistic protection and, possibly, other unidentified capabilities.

Baseline physical capabilities of TUNGSTEN MEMENTO (with augmentation - an unaugmented specimen has yet to be observed) are equivalent to an Olympic-caliber athlete or top-tier special operations soldier.  They are exceptionally strong, swift, and capable of self-stabilizing injuries that would incapacitate most humans.  Additionally, TUNGSTEN MEMENTO are capable of expelling an acidic liquid as a close-range attack.

Observed TUNGSTEN MEMENTO activities on Earth have involved close cooperation with insurgencies and terrorist organizations.  Insofar as a pattern can be inferred from incomplete data, their intent appears to be destabilization of existing sociopolitical structures.

TUNGSTEN MEMENTO appear capable of using terrestrial technology, though recorded proficiency is rather low.  Recorded use of non-terrestrial technology to date has been limited (ref: MILLRIFT GOSLING, ROANOKE CROW).

Physiology

Outwardly, all known TUNGSTEN MEMENTO are visually indistinguishable from male adult humans.  Thermal imaging reveals TUNGSTEN MEMENTO surface temperatures remain within a few degrees of ambient temperatures.

TUNGSTEN MEMENTO's human "skin" is a thin polymer laid over a thicker pale green subcutaneous membrane.  The membrane provides ballistic protection roughly equivalent to the US NIJ Level IIA standard.  It extends throughout the torso to the upper limbs but terminates in the upper arms, thighs, and lower neck.  The membrane is measurably weaker in the abdominal region at the joint between the pelvic segment and the upper torso segment.

The TUNGSTEN MEMENTO skeletal structure is nominally humanoid but bears clear signs of modification through unknown processes (speculative: nanotechnology).  Bones are reinforced with an unidentified black fibrous substance.  They are less rigid and brittle than human bones.  The skeleton has no sternum and all ribs are effectively floating.  The skeletal reinforcements are weakest at the major arm and leg joints and the joints themselves are more susceptible to dislocation than the human equivalent.

TUNGSTEN MEMENTO muscle tissue is reddish-orange and denser than human equivalent.

TUNGSTEN MEMENTO's jaw has additional points of articulation.  The creature is capable of opening its mouth to a maximum diameter of 16cm.  Dental structure is modified to resemble human normal, though TUNGSTEN MEMENTO does retain 2.5cm conical fangs in place of lower canines.

In addition to the aforementioned modifications, the two of the recovered TUNGSTEN MEMENTO specimens featured an implanted device in its their left lower jaws (ref: MOORETON SWALLOW).  This device's function is as yet undetermined.

One recovered specimen featured implanted ceramic blades in its fingertips, retracted under normal conditions but extendable through an additional implanted set of artificial tendons.

One (separate) recovered specimen contained a network of turquoise wiring running from its upper spinal column down each arm to its hands, terminating in a small gray puckered disc at the heel of each palm (ref: STAPLETON TURKEY).  The discs superficially resemble recent [REDACTED] patents for inductive charging and data transfer systems for mobile phones.  It is hypothesized that this is some sort of interface device.

A gland in the upper thoracic area secretes a substance which TUNGSTEN MEMENTO can expel as an attack.  Such expulsion requires the creature to fully open its jaws, compromising its human guise.  This attack's effective range is at least six meters.  The discharge is a liquid stream of a green, viscous caustic of unknown composition which can cause chemical burns, blindness, and respiratory failure.

If ruptured by gunfire, this organ can burst, initiating the rapid dissolution of the specimen's head and upper torso.  This process also aerosolizes a portion of the substance.  The aerosol's symptoms are similar to those of terrestrial chemical riot agents and equivalent palliative treatment is effective.

Recorded Contact 1- Saudi Arabia, 2007

This record is of a prison break in Saudi Arabia in October 2007.  This operation freed several men who now hold key positions in Da'ish.  Relevant portions of the video record, taken from multiple surveillance cameras, span 16 minutes.

The team conducting the raid is adequately professional: not up to SOF standards, but a cut above the average militant Islamist.  There are two six-man teams, but the team leaders are distinctly different.  Tall, gaunt, with disproportionately long arms: from the raised vantage points of the cameras, their quicksilver flowing motions are reminiscent of spiders or geckos.  The clearly human members of the team are deferential in posture, perhaps a touch afraid.

One of the team leaders is identified as Mas'ud Attar (ref: Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST), a known TUNGSTEN MEMENTO cover identity.  He sends his team toward the objective, turns to face a guard squad.  Fires his Krinkov dry, drops it, pulls a knife, and steps in while pistol bullets ineffectually shred his shirt.  The resulting bladework must be viewed at half-speed for clear analysis, including one clean decapitation which is near-physiologically impossible for a human combatant.

The other team leader isn't as fortunate.  He catches the periphery of a grenade blast and drops, flailing, two stories down a stairwell.  A camera on the ground floor catches his landing - and the shreds of human disguise clinging to the pale green fang-mouthed face.  He lies still for perhaps thirty seconds, limbs twitching, mouth working silently.  At length, he spasms, kips up, wraps his shemagh around his head and face, and continues the mission, limping slightly, two fingers sticking out at angles indicating obvious breakage.

Recorded Contact 2 - Afghanistan, 2014

This record is from a helmet-mounted GoPro worn by a Bundeswehr assaulter during a raid in Kunduz in July 2014.

Yhe breacher steps up, kicks the door, clears the way.  The first man through kills one defender before a humanoid form drops from the ceiling, landing in a scattering of angular limbs.  This individual is again identified as Mas'ud Attar.  Its mouth opens in a hiss, keeps opening, stretches inhumanly wide as the function of the articulation in the specimen's jaw becomes apparent.  There's a hissing retch and the point man is staggering back, screaming, strangling, with a grapefruit-sized acidic bolus dripping from his face.  The viewpoint assaulter puts a three-round burst into Attar's head as the creature brings up its own rifle.  The creature's skull comes apart in green mist and organic dissolution.  The assaulter grabs his buddy's drag strap and backs out, still firing with his free hand, yelling for frags, and the rest of the squad obliges.

Recorded Contact 3 - Libya, 2015

The best-documented TUNGSTEN MEMENTO contact to date occurred in Tripoli during Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST (15-17 March 2015).  Grey Cell of Task Force 47, supported by elements of Amber Cell and attached French CPA 10 troops, experienced three combat contacts with TUNGSTEN MEMENTO specimens working in apparent command of Da'ish troops and Libyan Islamist auxiliaries.  Multiple TUNGSTEN MEMENTO were operating under the cover identity of Mas'ud Attar, a former Iranian SOF officer and current high-level operator for Da'ish's director of provincial governance.

One partial set of TUNGSTEN MEMENTO remains was recovered during these engagements, as well as the MILLRIFT GOSLING artifact.

Recorded Contact 4 - Australia, 2015

Grey Cell of Task Force 47 again encountered TUNGSTEN MEMENTO during Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD (16-24 April 2015).  During investigation of a sighting of Mas'ud Attar in Melbourne, Grey Cell and SASR personnel engaged in three combat contacts against multiple TUNGSTEN MEMENTO entities, one or more BRONZE FREESTYLE entities, and a number of radicalized Australian Aboriginal catspaws.  During this operation, attached personnel (ref: Associate SUVOROV) identified an additional TUNGSTEN MEMENTO cover identity, that of an Indonesian Islamic terrorist organized named Tri Budi.

Five partial sets of TUNGSTEN MEMENTO remains were recovered during these engagements.  Two sets of these remains, including one containing a MOORETON SWALLOW artifact, were remanded to Australian military custody.

The MILLRIFT GOSLING artifact was recovered during the third recorded TUNGSTEN MEMENTO contact (ref: VEHEMENT HARPIST).  It is a knife visually similar to commercial fighting/utility blades produced in Pakistan and Iran, with a double-edged blade 26cm in length and a hilt wrapped in goat leather.  It was used as a close combat implement by the TUNGSTEN MEMENTO specimen whose remains were recovered on the operation in question.

The artifact weighs 2.3kg.  The blade, crossguard, hilt, and pommel are a single piece with no evident tool marks.  The cutting edge has been observed to cut structural rebar without noticeable degradation.  The metal is nonmagnetic, electrically conductive, and highly corrosion-resistant.  It melts at 4,100ºC.

The metal defies precise analysis but appears to be an alloy of iridium and carbon with unknown trace components.

Two additional MILLRIFT GOSLING artifacts were recovered during the fourth recorded TUNGSTEN MEMENTO contact (ref: ESSENTIAL NOMAD).  These were similar in general construction but displayed different form factors.  Respectively, blade lengths were 21cm and 31cm, weights were 2.1 kg and 2.6 kg, and hilt wrappings were platinum-alloy wire and red-dyed horsehide.

The 31cm instance remains in Australian military custody.

ROANOKE CROW is a theoretical EBE artifact whose effects were observed during Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST and Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD.  It is an unidentified device, possibly similar to a terrestrial hand grenade in form factor and employment.  It is capable of producing an intense thermal pulse with attendant radiation release.

Thermal effects appear roughly spherical in nature, with the primary radius of destruction confined to a 7-meter radius.  Peak temperatures are estimated at 40,000ºK determined to be 41,500ºK.  Accompanying the thermal pulse is an incidental release of gamma and X-ray radiation.  Radiation levels are measurable but not believed to do not exceed the threshold for human exposure limits.

Some contacts with TUNGSTEN MEMENTO, notably initially during Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST and Operation STALWART SURGEON, have been accompanied by unpredictable broad-frequency RF interference.  While initially believed to be a biological or technological effect generated by TUNGSTEN MEMENTO, the presence of a Rivet Joint asset during the final phase of VEHEMENT HARPIST has led to the effect's reclassification under MERCURY LAGUNA.  Detailed observations of the effect, designated WILDWOOD GROUSE, have led to the hypothesis that this interference is a byproduct of the propulsion system of a heretofore-unobserved TUNGSTEN MEMENTO aerospace vehicle.

During VEHEMENT HARPIST, Rivet Joint and other ELINT systems were able to localize and track WILDWOOD GROUSE for a period of 21 minutes.  A single point source of WILDWOOD GROUSE was observed at an initial zero/zero state southeast of Tripoli, Libya, then ascending to an altitude of 6,000m at Mach 0.7, maneuvering at this altitude and speed for several minutes, then departing the scene at a maximum observed altitude of 48,000m and maximum speed of Mach 3.5.

Efforts are under way to identify frequency windows within the WILDWOOD GROUSE spectrum that may remain usable for secure tactical communications.

Addendum: Based on observations recorded during Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST, Agent TESLA configured a network of portable signal analyzers to identify and triangulate WILDWOOD GROUSE sources.  Subsequent deployment of this system during Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD confirmed that WILDWOOD GROUSE is an emission of EBE technology.  The BELLCOURT MALLARD RED and BELLCOURT MALLARD ORANGE artifacts and the TARAWA STURGEON aerospace vehicle were observed to be point sources of the effect.  Project RETICLE will operationalize Agent TESLA's design for mass deployment.

Inconclusive reports from Operation VEHEMENT HARPIST indicate that properly-tuned electronic warfare systems may be usable offensively to disrupt sources of WILDWOOD GROUSE.

The consistent key signature of WILDWOOD GROUSE occurs in the 575MHz range, with signal pulses occurring every 3.1 to 1.4 seconds in an apparent "idle" state and more frequently in an "active" state.

Summary

The presumed extraterrestrial biological entities (EBEs) designated BRONZE FREESTYLE is humanoid in general morphology but incapable of passing for human.  To date, two sightings have been documented, with one resulting in the recovery of a severely-damaged specimen.  All following observations derive from these contacts.

The BRONZE FREESTYLE entity is approximately 1.1 meters tall and proportionally slimmer (typically described as "emaciated") than a human of equivalent height.  Physically, BRONZE FREESTYLE is swift and dexterous but fragile and lacking in physical strength.  However, subjective experiences of Task Force 47 personnel exposed to it, as well as Australian nationals operating under its influence, strongly suggest that BRONZE FREESTYLE has significant telepathic capabilities.

Contact with BRONZE FREESTYLE occurred in the context of TUNGSTEN MEMENTO cooperation with Australian Aboriginal radical environmentalists and suborned Australian federal security personnel.  This aligns with previously-observed TUNGSTEN MEMENTO activities and strongly suggests that BRONZE FREESTYLE and TUNGSTEN MEMENTO are cooperatively engaged in destabilization of terrestrial sociopolitical structures.

BRONZE FREESTYLE has not been directly observed to use terrestrial technology, though evidence suggests employment of a distraction device to break contact when threatened with capture.  Recorded use of non-terrestrial technology includes the BELCOURT MALLARD devices and the CHRISTINE HAWK weapon.

Physiology

As noted above, BRONZE FREESTYLE's basic morphology resembles a short, emaciated human in general plan.  Its long, flexible neck bears a disproportionately large teardrop-shaped head with two large, black eyes. a lipless and leathery beak of a mouth, no external ears, and slitted nostrils with no nose.  It is hairless and does not wear clothing.  In short, it bears a resemblance to the "Gray" aliens of UFO folklore that is too strong to be coincidental.  Its body temperature is significantly higher than human norm, with the head being a particular hot-spot.

Severe damage to the recovered BRONZE FREESTYLE specimen complicates analysis of its internal structure.  However, its nervous system is significantly more complex than the human norm, and incorporates traces of ferrous alloys which appear to be naturally-occurring.  Its brain, in particular, is a mesh of dense neural tissue and microscopic metallic structures.

Preliminary biochemical analysis suggests that BRONZE FREESTYLE has particularly high energy demands when compared to terrestrial mammals of similar mass.

BRONZE FREESTYLE is vulnerable to small arms fire but its size and agility may render it a difficult target.  It is not believed to pose a significant hand-to-hand combat threat.  However, the use of the CHRISTINE HAWK artifact should be cause for concern.

BELCOURT MALLARD is a family of EBE artifacts first recovered during Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD.  Two specimens have been recovered to date, designated (in order of acquisition) BELCOURT MALLARD RED and BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE.  Both were apparently constructed to interface with BRONZE FREESTYLE neural system analogs.

Physical Description

The core components of BELCOURT MALLARD artifacts are surrounded by an 8mm shell of organic resin from an unknown source, dark  high-gloss purple.  The substance is penetrable by small arms fire.  A 1.21m wiring harness containing a mix of terrestrial fiber-optic cables and organic fibers similar to BRONZE FREESTYLE spinal tissue emerges from the overhead and terminates in a flexible hemispherical metallic framework sized to the BRONZE FREESTYLE cranium.  Multiple 24.6cm spheres are present, half-enclosed within the artifact's shell.  The spheres are translucent and connected to the artifact's interior via flexible tubing.  The spheres and tubing appear to be a storage and delivery system for a solution of sugars, fatty acids, and unidentified organic compounds.  The solution's components are also present in the circulatory system of BRONZE FREESTYLE.

Within the outer shell, BELCOURT MALLARD contains a complex network of BRONZE FREESTYLE neural tissue, high-density nonmetallic crystalline forms of unidentified composition, delivery tubing for the aforementioned liquid solution, and human neural tissue.  Analysis of the human neural tissue is inconclusive as to its origin.

In operation, BELCOURT MALLARD generates significant heat.  A temperature of 60ºC have been observed when it is in an apparent "idle" state, with spikes as high as 95ºC under intense use.  Additionally and perhaps more critically, an operating BELLWOOD MALLARD artifact also generates the WILDWOOD GROUSE electromagnetic signature.

Function

BELCOURT MALLARD's primary function appears to be amplification of BRONZE FREESTYLE's innate telepathic capabilities.  Additional functions may be present in individual devices.

BELCOURT MALLARD RED

BELCOURT MALLARD RED was recovered as an installation within the cargo box of a standard 2014 Ford Transit delivery van.  All interior furnishings were removed, presumably to make space for the artifact.  A diamond-shaped array of nine of the aforementioned translucent spheres was affixed to the cargo bay's left wall.  A padded couch sized to a BRONZE FREESTYLE entity was mounted to the cargo bay's floor, made of locally-acquired materials.  This is believed to be the operator's station.

BELCOURT MALLARD RED is believed to be a relatively low-powered, short-range variant of BELCOURT MALLARD.  When encountered during Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD, it appears to have been used for clandestine command and control of human assets.

No additional functions were observed in BELCOURT MALLARD RED.

BELCOURT MALLARD RED remains in Australian military custody.

BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE

BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE is an undisguised EBE artifact in the shape of a rounded lozenge, measuring 4.9m long, 2.1m wide, and 2.5. tall.  When first encountered, it was being transported covertly in a standard van-type semi-trailer, but it is unknown if the dimensions of this container were a design factor.

A circular 1.1m "hatch" was present on the face arbitrarily designated as "rear."  No obvious mechanism for opening or closing the hatch is present, nor is a hinge in evidence.  The hatch appears to be integral to the artifact's outer frame.

The artifact contains 64 of the aforementioned spheres, arrayed in three rows around its interior volume.  It also contains an operator's couch composed of a soft, flexible version of the outer shell material.  Inset in this fixture is a small metallic cage structure containing the TERMITE WINKLER artifact.

BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE is believed to be a higher-powered BELCOURT MALLARD variant, capable of direct telepathic intrusion and influence at extended range.  Its only observed use was in support of human and TUNGSTEN MEMENTO kinetic action against task force personnel.

BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE displayed a secondary capability of levitation with a maximum observed altitude of ~2m and an observed speed of ~2m/s.  When in use, eight circular crystalline coil structures within its lower shell generated a surface temperature 110ºC.  These structures are believed to be the focal points or points of origin for this levitation effect.  The TERMITE WINKLER artifact is hypothesized to be a key element of this effect.

The Australian military transferred BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE Task Force 47 custody on 03 May 2015.  The artifact was subsequently transported to Site RANDOLPH.

TERMITE WINKLER is a separate EBE artifact recovered from within the BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE artifact (ref: Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD).  It is a dark green spindle of opaque crystal possessing 116 facets.  It has a length of 46mm and a diameter of 18mm.  It maintains a constant temperature of 44ºC.  It is a room-temperature superconductor.

In its default state, TERMITE WINKLER is not subject to gravity.  If a human subject establishes skin contact with it and concentrates on its physical properties, it may change state to follow known laws of physics with a recorded mass of 2.54 kg.  This effect occurs inconsistently and the factors for determining its transition are unknown.  Following transition, TERMITE WINKLER maintains state for 2 minutes, 16 seconds before regaining its gravitational immunity.

it is hypothesized that TERMITE WINKLER, the BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE artifact, and the BRONZE FREESTYLE EBE somehow synergize to create the BELCOURT MALLARD ORANGE's observed levitation effect.

CHRISTINE HAWK is an EBE artifact recovered during the first BRONZE FREESTYLE contact (ref: ESSENTIAL NOMAD).  It weighs 2.0 kg and is composed of a dull bronze metallic substance.  It is constructed in the form of a bracer sized for a BRONZE FREESTYLE forearm.  It has no apparent mechanism of attachment or closure and was removed from the first recovered BRONZE FREESTYLE specimen during xenopsy.

CHRISTINE HAWK is a humanoid-portable plasma weapon.  Use on a human subject (ref: Associate COUSTEAU) at a range of approximately 10m generated a wound track 3mm wide and 30mm deep, surrounded by second- and third-degree burns to an additional radius of 10-20mm.  Rate of fire, maximum effective range, and dissipation of the plasma packet at greater ranges are unknown.

The artifact's plasma emission channel is obvious but it lacks physical controls or a sighting mechanism.  Given its obvious design for BRONZE FREESTYLE, it may engage with this species of EBE through a mechanism not currently observable.

TARAWA STURGEON is a presumed EBE aerospace vessel encountered by Task Force 47 and Royal Australian Air Force personnel on the night of 23 April 2015 (ref: Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD).

Upon initial detection via WILDWOOD GROUSE emissions, TARAWA STURGEON was holding station at an altitude of 80,000 feet above the Australian Outback.  After TF47 initiated its second contact with TUNGSTEN MEMENTO and BRONZE FREESTYLE entities, the craft moved to the engagement area at a maximum observed speed of 3,080 knots, as tracked by WILDWOOD GROUSE emission and thermo-optic surveillance equipment aboard the RAAF AP-3C (callsign Theta 25) supporting TF47.

The RAAF fighter and EW platform supporting TF47 (respectively, F/A-18F callsign Claw 15 and EF-18G callsign Claw 28) engaged the craft.  Claw 15 was unable to acquire radar lock and was destroyed (ref: JEFFERSON ALBATROSS) while attempting to engage with cannon.  Claw 28 made two successful AIM-9X attacks, inflicting significant apparent damage.  After the second missile impact, TARAWA STURGEON broke off the engagement and exited the area, shedding solid debris and a smoke/vapor trail.  Claw 28's crew later reported that lock-on was trivial given TARAWA STURGEON's elevated surface temperature (presumably from hypersonic atmospheric passage).

During the Operation ESSENTIAL NOMAD air-to-air engagement with the TARAWA STURGEON craft, a Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18F (callsign Claw 15) was destroyed by an apparent directed energy weapon, tentatively designated JEFFERSON ALBATROSS.  This weapon emitted a pulsed bright green energy beam.  Analysis of recovered wreckage of Claw 15 tentatively suggests JEFFERSON ALBATROSS generates a neutral particle beam with intense terminal thermal effects.  Secondary kinetic effects may result from vaporization of target materials and consequent rapid gaseous expansion.
