Logan:
Both those things are true. However, I've never played a melee focused character that isn't a front-line fighter. I think I need to make Logan a little more cautious. He's not good at tanking, but that kinda limits the scouting aspect.
:D I was making my comment in jest of course. A lot of it comes down to bad luck. And Logan is a character with the ability to do huge amounts of damage but he is also very fragile.
Angati:
Trust me on this....
*FUCK SCOUTING in RPOL*
:D Classic comment Beni! <DM waits until Beni gets down of the soapbox before continuing>
Can I just point out that the scouting actually went really well. Logan got the sneak attack in, it was just that the return damage was enormous. Then John took the calculated risk that one more round of high damage would take this guy out and he got SO close. But not close enough. Life is short and exciting in the Savage Tide adventure path.
Anyway, I think this is a positive thing. Now we will get a chance to leisurely explore Logan's character ark without the annoyance of silly things like combat and treasure.
Celene:
Scouting usually involves seeing the enemy and then retreating back to alert the others.
The problem is when you launch the attack before the tanks arrive.
Not to say you weren't effective; but the dying part kind of sucks.
Well yeah, in hindsight he should have pulled back, hidden behind the tanks (you guys know who you are) and sucked down a potion of cure moderate wounds. Such is life. Logan is impetuous. Maybe dying the SECOND time will teach him some caution? :D
