Logan does the usual, and finds no traps and hears no noise. Through the door is a short corridor with a door on either side at the end...
<AUTO DUNGEON EXPLORATION MODE ENGAGED!>
...and the party heads through the left hand door (after Logan's checks review nothing). The walls, floor, and ceiling of the 15' chamber they enter have been covered in white marble tile; every inch sparkles cleanly. In the middle of the room sits a five-foot-by-ten-foot pool of clear hot water. Iron braziers sit evenly spread around the room, making cheerful reflections bounce off every surface.
The party search but find nothing but some pleasant smelling bath salts.
The door on the other side leads into a chamber with décor so opulent that it's jarring. The smooth plaster walls are painted violet and delicately crafted silver lanterns flicker softly on the wall, lighting the entire room. A shelf to the north holds several books, statuettes, stuffed animals, a crystal ball with a smoky red light at its core, and two coffers; one of darkwood and one of iron decorated with tiny jade bats. A five-foot-wide landscape of the city of Sasserine hangs on the eastern wall, yet all of the ships in the harbor fly flags depicting a serpentine dragon coiled around a lotus.
A pair of overstuffed chairs sit beside a low table heaped with fruit and bottles of wine - next to the table is a polished liquor cabinet. To the south stands a lone wooden cupboard. The floor itself is adorned with a thick, deep purple carpet. An open door to the south leads to what appears to be a bedroom so the party continues cautiously.
The floor of the bedroom is carpeted with luxuriously deep purple woollen rugs, and the walls are smoothed with plaster and painted a soothing light velvet, except in one section where a large floor to ceiling mirror has been bolted on - its worn edges being the only thing in the room being anything less than perfect. A delicate crystalline chandelier hangs from the centre of the ceiling. To the south, a dressing table sits next to a padded stool, and a large canopied bed with silk sheets looms to the southeast. Between these two objects sits a heap of oversized cushions.
The party pillages the rooms... opps, sorry,
searches the rooms and finds the following:
Books
All novels, mostly adventure stories or erotica of the type that the old ladies in the Shrine of Liir tended to favour. No particular value.
Statuettes
A large collection, all made of the same strange sort of polished purple stone -> no-one in the party has ever seen anything like it. All the little statuettes are of things like succubuses, displacer beasts doing unpleasantly sexual things to unicorns or other mythical creatures... Not a nice collection, but worth 1,000 gp to the right buyer!
Stuffed Animals
These consist of small but dangerous creatures like stirges, cobras, Small monstrous
spiders, and even what looks to be a giant shrew the size of a cat. None of these are worth much more than a few gold coins.
Crystal Ball
Darkwood Coffer
This box is worth 150gp by itself and inside are a dozen silver and gold necklaces worth a total of 500gp.
Iron Coffer
This box is also wroth 150 gp. Inside are dozens of rings and earrings worth a total of 750gp.
Painting of Sasserine Harbour
Considering what this picture depicts - every ship in the harbour taken over by the Lotus Dragon thieves guild - and you just killed most of the potential buyers who would be interested in that, this painting is now worthless. That said, Angati feels there is something familiar about this watercolour. What is it?
Perception check to figure it out or if you are man enough Beni, have a guess! :P
Wine
Two bottles of Alphatian red. The best! How on earth did it get all the way to Sasserine? 50gp or just enjoy them
Liquor Cabinet
Full of liquor! Good quality top shelf stuff, time to get the party started!
Wooden Cupboard
This contains lots of clothing sized for a human woman - ladies take up to three sets of any clothing type you feel like. Also, it contains three particularly spectacular outfits: a ball dress worth at least 75gp, a flowing robe of shimmering lavender silk worth an amazing 450 gp - but the cut of this is so scandalous that it could only be worn in very intimate company.
Actually, Alohan actually recognises this last item of clothing :D
Crystal Ball
Celene gets all excited - for about five seconds until she realises that the smoky shimmer in the middle is just a simple illusion. With disgust she figures out that this trinket isn't worth more than 100gp.
So, 3,225gp in total, which isn't as good as Parrot Island. Who would have thought that zombie pirates would have more treasure than the real thing, but maybe the profit margins in the pirating industry were a little better back then.
Players? Bah, who needs 'em! I'm gunna explore this dungeon all by myself!!
