I was out of the combat for a bunch of rounds. Has Celene been capable of acting we would have had less people go down.

Yes, I really agree on both these points. There was a bit of luck (Kassius keeping the mage pinned down for a couple of rounds really helped) but you also acted in your various roles very well.

And of course it demonstrated again that I am dealing with very experienced players here. As soon as you learnt that Vanthus had SR then I started getting an education on 'spell that bypass SR'. Glitterdust, grease, pit...



Maybe, but she was back in business by the time Vanthus turned up for the third wave of attacks. That helped a lot.

I am sorry Celene, I couldn't get you back before...

Anyway, my idea was to catch them redhanded... that is, go to the resting place, round up Rowin and the pirates in our ships, but let her pass the call.

And with that shorted out, wait for Vanthus to appear to kill him in full force.

But that is just me (well, Angati... I am not such a vindictive bastard)...but I would prefer to go that way now that we can get to kill Vanthus and remove that problem out of the equation. Also, I am not sure if Lavinia has had the same dream, and, she needs to see first hand probably.

So, what do you guys think ?.

You don't have me really volunteering there... I would wager that Angati is a bit afraid of what might happen down there...

Still if no one offers, she'd go.

I have a job interview tomorrow morning so I need to spend tonight prep'ing and shining my shoes. Should be able to make the battlemap and post tomorrow I hope.

I don't see much in the way of getting out of this without liberal use of the fireball wand.

We can't even 5' shift due to the terrain. Celene will likely die after her turn. I don't even think I should bother escaping the grapple. It will be harder for them to damage me if I am grappled unless they can drag us into the weeds somehow.

Damn Celene I couldn't cast another as I was already grappled myself... If I don't end up grappled I'll cast liberating command on you next round

It's ok. Maybe my 18 was enough to escape.

Ok time to think. How do we survive this? If Kinstal and Logan can make some headway on their hopefully Celene will be freed. Then we will have a mountain of creatures coming for us. Some are slowed and hopefully we won't be surrounded. If this happens then we might be able to retreat back to the boat. The other option right now is to have everyone else withdraw to the boat and hope that Celene somehow can survive.

Kassius do you have any fire arrows? Maybe we could find a way to make the bulk of them pause and not charge right into battle. Is anyone using the ballistae? Crewman?

I should have made it more obvious, but all the seaweed men are busy celebrating their victory this turn and you can make actions without triggering an AoO. Maybe you can use that to your advantage.

No-one is on the ballista yet, but if you order a crewmember to do it they will. Maybe Urol would be better on one since his stats are heaps better.

The hold does contain barrels of oil and pitch which are being shipped to the colony, maybe you can make use of those.

Was this my poetic license getting us in trouble again? When I said that VH#4 jumped straight back on top of her, I meant that it continued attacking her, not that it re-established the grapple.

I wondered why you didn't delete the GRAPPLED condition for Celene in the status block but I assumed that you'd forgotten. Opps...

I was at 0 anyway. Any action other than healing would get me killed.
