Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

Celene watched as the fire to the south continued to burn ever larger; and now she had set a building on fire. It would need to be contained but not until they were safe to do so. She whirled to the screaming stilt walker "As you say it's just business." she said with a sneer as she gathered fire and launched it at the rogue.

Alohan's greased body was becoming a detriment. His foe was firmly in his arms, his opponent's neck nestled in the crook of his elbow but the Islander was unable to get a firm grasp. He slip and slide, threatening to break free. Alohan had to adapt. Instead, Alohan settled on brute strength, squeezing his arm into his body attempting to crush the man's windpipe. He stole a Glance at Angati, praying she could hold her own until he could get to her.

Urol yelps as the flask of alchemical fire hits him.  "Ah, I'm supposed to be the one throwing explosives!  Didn't the pirates tell you anything?  That's my thing!"  Stopping what he is doing, the little gnome works quickly to clean the gunk of his clothes, rolling on the ground to extinguish the flames and moving from the burning square.

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

Celene's aim is good and the next acrobat dies a horrible death atop his stilts.

Alohan begins the slow process of choking the life out of his opponent. (He really needs to figure out a quicker way to get that done.)

Urol puts out the flames on his clothes. The fire on Kassius naturally burns itself out.

"When you arrive at the gates of the abyss don't forget to tell them that Diamondback's gang sent you!" laughs one of the stiltwalkers.

"Good to know, but why don't you take your own message?" Kassius calls back. The arrow that follows takes the man in the throat, who falls, gurgling, and Kassius turns around and fires another arrow. He has no mercy for people throwing fire in a crowd of innocents.

Kibeti splits away from Kassius, attacking the nearest stiltwalker. Leaping, he misses with the bite, but one claw lands a solid blow.

"Ha!" scoffs the man. "Is that the best comeback you've got? Pathetic! It doesn't even make sense. I got another one for ya..." Unfortunately, at that moment Kassius' arrow takes the stiltwalker in the throat so we'll never find out what the witty retort was - the man is killed instantly.

Kassius' second arrow hits the next acrobat, and Kibeti rakes his claws across him. This is enough to send the man to the ground - unconscious and bleeding out.

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

OOC: I'll take Angati's turn again.

Angati is conscious that between the roaring and spreading fire, the nearby houses and her opponents she doesn't have much room to manoeuvre. She is also aware that Alohan will be busy with his opponent for a couple more rounds. She figures the best thing to do it try and quickly take out one of the weaker assassins. The oracle moves back 5' and casts 'cause fear' on SW1.

22:35, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 2 using 1d20+1.  SW1 save vs cause fear.

The man is powerless to resist her powerful magic and runs away with a lopping awkward gait.

Harliss casually walks forward to an acrobat that is fumbling in his belt for a throwing dagger and disembowels him with practised ease.

Suddenly there are only three opponents left: SW6 close to Urol, SW2 whose eyes are slowly rolling back in his head due to Alohan's headlock and Diamondback herself.

Stiltwalker #6 (the one closest to Urol) looks around, sees all of his comrades dead or dying and curses. The acrobat grabs onto the rushes of the roof next to him and hauls himself up onto of the little shop. He kicks of his stilts and looks to be planning a get-away.

SW#2 fails to escape from Alohan's death grip again.

Diamondback either doesn't notice that her men have fallen or doesn't care. She flips around Angati and takes the easier target - Alohan's back. She punches into the base of his exposed neck and lands a blow that makes his spine rattle. (4hp damage and DC16 fort save or stunned for 1 round and become fatigued.)

Having no immediate threat in her area Celene surveys the area seeing Alohan and Angati engulfed in a combat that was quickly being overtaken by flames. She turned her attention to the skeleton suited leader of the gang and wove her hands through a series of incantations finally conjuring a field of golden particles to cover the end of the alleyway.

In reply to Celene (msg # 58):

Agreed. Her will save vs that spell should have been +10 as well, I forgot an ability that would have given her a +2 bonus.

Urol manages to hit the fleeing man on the rooftop with his bomb and the acrobat instantly becomes a big ball of flame. The unfortunate street performer screams at the top of his lungs and collapses, rolling off the roof and down into the street in front of the gnome. The man's clothes continue to burn merrily and the assassin does not get up.

Celene looks around, searching for something, anything that could be useful for putting out the fires now spreading across the tavern and nearby shops. Nothing jumps out as immediately useful.

The sorceress hears a noise above her and looks up. High up in the sky a wave of thick, heavy clouds are quickly cutting across the stars, accompanied by rolling thunder. The young cleric feels the first droplet of rain on her cheeks as one of Sasserine's famous downpours begins to build.

OOC: Well, we couldn't let the city burn down could we?

Both of Kassius' arrows hit home and the acrobat is knocked back with the fletching of both missiles sticking out of his chest. The man clutches at the wounds and screams. "I surrender! I give up!"

OOC: Just Diamondback left.

The anorexic Alphatian assassin continues fighting, untroubled by Kibeti's attacks.

Alohan shakes himself from his forced reverie, listing to the side in anticipation of Diamondback's strike. She wasn't able to dislodge his spine but her blow still connected. "Ya be one angry woman" he muttered, finally getting his wits about him. But the damage was done -his energy was sapped and he found himself feeling sick to his stomach. He was sore, battered, cut, and still needed to get to Lavinia.

As Daimondback skipped out of the way of Kibeti, Alohan lashed out, attempting to grab her wrist. Her evasive maneuvers to protect herself from the large cat left him utterly open -an why shouldn't they? The extent of Alohan's usefulness in this fight had been a couple of seconds of hugging a stiltwalker.

Now, things changed. He snatched her wrist and pulled her close. "Ya did a bad thing today," he whispered, setting his feet for what was to come.
