Anansi considered that the situation there looked more or less controlled, so she started running back towards her companions shouts... she glanced to her left as she advanced, and saw Harliss making a beautiful pattern of holes on the monstrosity that her late partner had become, and continued running to try to get to the bugbears and place herself between them and her friends.

OOC: The idea is to reach 2, but if she can't, at least place herself in the way

Celene turned and stepped into the bedroom and watched the battle between Kibeti, Harliss, and the savage first mate. She was concerned with the captives being so close. "Try and maneuver him away from Zan and Tolin. If he gouts acid when he dies they may be killed." she called to Harliss.

Celene then called upon Wee Jas to aid her allies.

Alohan continued with his vice grip, locking his arms even deeper in their set. He twisted his legs a bit gaining leverage allowing him further positioning. He squeezed and squeezed, anger consuming him. The bullywug stunk and the gasses it was emitting disturbed his nose but that wouldn't distract him. He would snuff the life out of him.

Angati moves back out into the corridor in order to defend the row of archers and spellcasters against attack. She doesn't quite make it falling one square short (G11).

A second later Urol and Kassius unleash a volley of arrows and bolts that shred the bullywug in front of them (BW2 is dead).

Alohan continues his grim work (10 hp damage).

Kibeti continues to inflict minor damage (4 hp after DR). At least he is providing flanking for Harliss though.

Kaskus continues his clumsy attempts to damage the bullwug at the far end of the hall (BW3). Despite the frogman spending the entire round trying to pull its club out of the wall, the dwarf doesn't come close to hitting him (rolled a '2'). In fact he drops his weapon and has to bend over and pick it up.

Celene steps into the bedroom and gives a temporary buff to the entire party.



"Mind your own business little missy!" Harliss yells back. She ignores the savage pirate's flailing and chops at him with rapier and dagger (11 hp damage).

Drevoraz screams. A wordless howl of hunger and fury, and gives No sign of stopping his fixation on trying to eat Kibeti. The cat nobly jumps to the side again.

Meanwhile, the last bullywug plants its feet and heaves its club out of the wall. The movement connects the club with the back of Kaskus Kiel's head as the dwarf stands up from retrieving his weapon, showering the dwarf's brains all over the fine rug in Lavinia's upstairs hallway.

Angati sighs and half closes her eyes to focus. She finds a better reality - one where the club misses the dwarf's head by a hair's breadth instead. Kaskus is hit in the stomach by a return stroke (4 hp damage). He'll never know how close he came to it being much worse... But such is the thankless task of a dual-cursed oracle.

Alohan settled in to the grim business of killing the bullywug, now confident the creature was unable to pull itself out of its precarious position without outside help. What little mental control he had knew he was leaving himself open but confident his allies were in control of the situation. A pity really. The entire bullywug force posed a threat but him and his companions were able to handle the bulk of them easily. If this didn't guarantee further employment, Alohan didn't know what would. Not that he really needed money.

Locking his arms even further, Alohan squeezed.

Angati charged against the last bullywug left standing. Carried away by the force she wanted to instil the hit, she missed the bullywug that just dodge below the metallic ball as it hummed over its head.

Both of Kassius' arrow hit the final bullywug, embedding themselves deeply into the creature's chest. The frogman croaks, sinks to its knees and then falls forwards flat on its face.

"Ah-ha!" laughs Kaskus as he lowers his scimitar. "That shows the power of teamwork," he says, despite having not hit the bullywug even once. The dwarf turns and starts running into the master bedroom where the combat is ongoing.

OOC: Beni, in view of the fact that Kassius' arrows killed BW3 before Angati moved, do you want to revise your turn? Angati doesn't quite have enough movement to reach Drevoraz this round (and can't charge because she doesn't have line of sight) but could get into position for melee next round, or move into the bedroom and use a ranged weapon.

Alohan continues to throttle the bullywug cleric (10 hp damage).

Kibeti backs away from the fight to heel next to Kassius. The cat is not successful in drawing the savage creature that had been Drevoraz with him - the savage pirate is blinded and can't follow. Harliss makes no attempt at all to draw her opponent away from the unconscious prisoners slumped in the armchairs nearby.

Lavinia grabs Liamae by the hand. "Come on, now's our chance," she exclaims to the Jade Raven sorceress. Pulling the other girl by the hand she rushes past Drevoraz and they reach the chairs where Tolin and Zan are held in place by ropes. Using Liamae's daggers they start to free the two men.

OOC: They will be free next round but still unconscious. The girls will have to try and drag them along the floor.

OOC: Urol still to play (and Angati as well if Beni wants to redo the turn).

Urol spends the entire round cursing as he tries to reload his fancy repeating crossbow.

The bullywug threat seemingly neutralized, Kassius turns on the deranged pirate. Calmly and emotionlessly, he draws and fires, the magic of the bow enabling the arrows to penetrate with deadly efficiency. Arrow after arrow slams into Drevoraz, piercing deep.

At Kassius' order, Kibeti returns to the fray, but not before looking quizzically at Kassius. Kibeti seems confused by the failed gambit of luring the pirate away.

Angati turned to the unconscious bodies, and started pulling to help moving them out of the splash that would happen as soon as the first mate was killed.

OOC: Back from business trip, sorry for delay. I don't know how many rounds this would mean or where Angati is, but I suppose that is the most sensible action for her to do.

With one great torquing of the arms, arching of the back, and positioning of the legs, Alohan squeezed and pulled the Bullywug's neck. The anger consumed him and for a moment, Alohan was alone with his quarry. He continued to squeeze. He continued to pull.

As Celene and Liamae are retrieving Tolin and Zan, Angati takes the old Halfling woman in hand. Not that there is probably much point to it, Kora Whistlegap has had her neck cut from ear to ear and looks very dead but the oracle pulls her clear anyway.

And not a moment too soon. Under a wave of crossbow bolts, arrows and bites the savage Drevoraz is knocked to his knees. He gives a final wail of hunger and pain, then convulses uncontrollably and jerks his mouth towards Harliss. The pirate captain is having none of it and knocks his face to one side. Then she plants her rapier deep into the side of his neck. The creature that was formally her first mate promptly explodes and showers the nearby armchairs where the hostages had been tied up with green frothy acid. Harliss springs back and somehow manages to avoid the spray totally (acrobatics high enough to automatically pass DC for half damage and then feat to take no damage at all).

"Rest in peace lad," she says sadly. "Yeh deserved better and I vow to find what that accursed black pearl was doing on our ship in the first place."

This merely leaves the bullywug cleric and a low, choking croak begins in the back of his throat. Alohan assumes this is the bullywug equivalent of a death-rattles and presses forward with his attack. He suddenly feels a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Alohan. Alohan," says Lavinia quietly. "I want him punished, believe me, more than anyone else I do. But it must be done properly. We will call the district watch and let them take care of this. Please, just tie him up for now."
