OOC: Moving Kinstal in DM-mode.
Kinstal wants to ignore Kassius' call to return to the ship and set up a line of defense. He is relatively undamaged, has good armor and his longsword is perfect for that task of cutting these vine men down to size. But he is adjacent to the magical pit that the sorceress has created and it would leave him open to attack if he were to change position. With a shrug he moves back up onto the ship.
Skald joins him.
Alohan shows no sign of stopping though. Unfazed by the unsuitability of his weapon (come on, no slashing weapons are all? Not even a little MSW dagger? Jeez), the man just decides to hit the creatures harder. He hits twice (11 hp on VH5 after DR).
Sailors crack open the barrels of oil and begin to fill smaller containers than can be thrown. Other sailors light torches.
OOC: So the flasks they are filling up with oil are going to act like 'Alchemist's Fire'.

<END OF PLAYERS' TURN>
All but three of the vine horrors are entangled, and two of them which are not are at the bottom of the magical pit (VH3 & 6 are free but in the pit, only VH10 is totally free and he is at the back).
The three vine horrors in the pit make no move to free themselves. Instead they jerk their faceless heads up to the sky and howl, they are joined by the three creatures at the back (10, 11 & 13). Suddenly the row of sargasso behind Kibeti and Alohan burst into life as seaweed seems to come alive as a tangled mass of flayling fronds and thick rope-like braided weed start thrashing around. The cat and the raging native suddenly find themselves under attack from all sides.
OOC: These patches of active seaweed are functionally the same as assassin vines, but normal sized rather than large.

Alohan is hit by one patch of seaweed (8 hp) and it gets a free grapple attack - of course it fails against the party's grapple specialist.
OOC: BTW Celene, can you please check Alohan's character sheet and recalculate his armor classes, I think there is an error.
Kibeti is hit twice (22 hp of damage) and then wrapped up in a grapple (by seaweed 'd'). VH5 attacks Kibeti but is too entangled to do any damage.
The remaining five seaweed men (VH4, 7, 9, 12 & 14) remain very still. Then their form starts breaking up as they loose cohesion and start squirming out of the entangling bonds.
OOC: Please remove their entangled condition and they will be free to move next round, although still inside the entanglement spell area.
