Re: OOC4

Logan would really appreciate some buffs for the fight!

Also, DM, can I have access to Kinstal's character sheet?

Re: OOC4

Its in his description.

Not that I don't think you should have access to it.

You don't want to be enlarged right?

Angati has all the other buffs.

Re: OOC4

So it is.  I rolled for Kinstal.  I can just post his actions alongside Logan's.

And yeah, I don't think Logan would want to be enlarged.  He's a dex fighter, and though it would make the silver knife do more damage, the larger size might make sneak attacking harder.  And would make him get hit more, which wouldn't be good.  Kinstal might be a good bet for enlarge, though.

Re: OOC4

With Kinstal able to beat the DR on the vine horrors he should go after them when the inevitably come after us. At least until the Mother's DR drops.

I'll have Celene break Alohan out of his funk to do the same. Even though he has no slashing.

Does it still hold me in its claws ?.

Still... the curse Did kick in right ?.

At least guys that's a -4 to SAVES which is Huge so if you want to stick something else in her... now its the time to do so... also -4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks.

Yeah, giving you guys a taste of your own medicine.

Angati:
Does it still hold me in its claws ?.

Naah... that was just poetic license. For 30 points of damage I thought I should write about how Angati got lifted up off the ground, but it was only for a second.

Angati:
Still... the curse Did kick in right ?.

Yes, I took that into account.

Angati:

I can't believe you guys are doing so much damage to the BBEG even before her DR is dropped... it just goes to show that this party does a ton of damage against low AC opponents.

Re: OOC4

But now Logan is out of tricks to get sneak attack damage.  So no more heavy damage from him.  When Kassius finally gets the right heart, everyone can focus fire which will hopefully bring her down quick.

Hoping to take her down to one attack action a round. That would be nice. Same with the others.

Unsure if Alohan should attempt to fight off the vine horrors or take his turn grappling the Mother and attempting to give her the prone condition.

Doesn't need to trip it. He just gives them the prone condition.

Re: OOC4

SO guys, we need to have a chat. I've been DMing for just under three years now. We've gotten through five modules of published adventures (three on the main storyline and two extras I got from dungeon magazines) plus some home brew stuff. The characters are now due to level up to level seven and reach the Isle of Dread. We've gone over eight thousand posts.

But I don't want to DM anymore. I have a lot less free time than I did back in November 2015 due to my new job requiring a lot more commuting and I am putting every second of my free time into starting my own company.

I am sorry to end things here (well, I might do one more non-combat scene so we can actually reach the Isle of Dread, but I will not make you all spend time on leveling up) but I think we did pretty well. I will also write up the story arcs I had planned out for each character.

Whew! It was quite a ride! For those of you who have been with me since the start (Beni, John and almost GralphidB), thank you so much for sticking with the game. And fmu78, thank you so much for being the best replacement player any DM could ever hope for!

:( I feel a little sad about it all, but life must go on.

Re: OOC4

Dude !

Dont feel sorry at all. I has been the best game I have ever played in rpol, the most satisfying, and most fun, with the best team of DM and players one could ever hope for.

I am really glad that you gave this to us.

Now, I don't know if you'd have time for playing instead of DMing (it takes considerably less time).

Also, I am thinking I'd like to keep in touch with all of you, my name here is benigno so you can rmail me or we can make a list of our names to be able to keep in touch.

Also, I don't know if you guys would consider trying out to play through roll20 and maybe play less often.

I really have not had such a long lasting group and fun DM to devise plots for each characters in a long long long time... ever since I played with my own group (but that was life sessions 20 years ago...).

Anyway, lets keep the talk up, and best of lucks with your company... what are you aiming for ?

Re: OOC4

Sad to hear this, but totally understand. Burnout is real, and if you're heart isn't in it, it just isn't it. This game has been a blast, and I've had a ton of fun with it.

Agree with Beni about keeping in touch. I've been considering running a pathfinder game, and trying to decide if I can commit to the time/prep work needed to do it justice. If I do, I'll definitely contact everyone in this group to see if they're interested in playing.

Re: OOC4

Ah, bummer.  This game has been one of the best I've been in on RPoL.  I think one of the things you did really well was to know when to wrap up combat and other things and keep from everything dragging on for days...or weeks.  Anyway, I'll be sad to see this game end.  If anyone wants anyone to join a game, I'm angryjohn on RPoL.  I'll give some thought to running a game, but I'm also thinking about changing my work situation in the near future, and I'd want to see how much free time I have if that happens.

Re: OOC4

Thanks guys for your kind words. Yeah, I think we all made a pretty kick ass game here.

Johannes, the original player of Celene, wanted me to pass on a message too.

"Congratulations for running this great story all the way to the Isle of Dread, guys. I've been enjoying your adventures from the sidelines after leaving Celene in competent hands. All - current and previous - players and of course our beloved GM have created a tale well worth remembering! And have had much fun along the way (I had, anyway!)

I've enjoyed the narrative to the end, and your company very much for as long as I could find the time for playing. Sad for it to end, but so must all good things...

Best wishes
Johannes, Denmark"

@Beni, I don't have the energy to play anymore RP stuff - I really got it out of my system with three years of DMing on here! Yes, I think it is a good idea to provide the usernames of the players... then we can rMail each other if new games come up and check if people want to be involved:

Angati: benigno
Logan: angryjohn
Kassius: GralphidB
Celene: fmu78
Alohan: ronning
DM: DesertNomad

Oh, and if I can ever convince my wife that Tunisia would make a good holiday destination then you'd better watch out because I am coming to visit :D

Re: the company, I am developing a web based application for calculating the uncertainty on measurements. It will be 21 CFR part 11 compliant and fully validated, and therefore able to be used in the pharmaceutical industry. Cool, huh?!

@Kassius, thanks for jumping into a boring character and breathing life into him. We have seen Kassius develop from a 1-D personality which I could only describe as 'competent' to someone with business plans and real relationships with family and friends.

@John, thanks for the appreciative words. Logan has been an interesting character to DM and I will definitely be writing up his storyline.

So... I am waiting for Celene to make the sailing check for Alohan to see how the game ends. Will they get ship wrecked or just sail into harbor?

Re: OOC4

Very sad to see this go.

I'll repost here what I posted back in May when it was dropped on me via PM.

Celene:
I love most everything about this game.

Sorry to hear you feel that way. This was probably my all time favorite game on RPOL in the past 15 years.

Thanks to everyone involved. Since I joined this game I have ran a few and played a lot of others and while I may have let some pass by the wayside this was always a priority above all else.

The attention and care the DM put in made me want to make sure I put that much back in myself. You could start this game back up in 15 years and I'd come running to play once more. Thanks for your Dedication DM. :)
