M&L both go bright red. They each shoot a fireball at you that misses by inches.

Mario says "You-a ungrateful twerp!!! We give-a you coins, and all-a you canna do is ask when you canna get-a more!!! Leave at once!!!"

This is a keep your mouth shut and head to the exit if you want to live to see tomorrow kind of a demand.

OOC: that was really just for my information. Outside of that, I'd like to visit the crossover game Scords have with M&L.

Well, asking got you into trouble. Sorry, dice didn't like you.

quote:
IC: I will keep the 99 coins instead of trying the mushroom. This time. If I don't use up all of my coins or otherwise NEED the coins I might come back to try that mushroom the next night. But for now I'm happy to have the money.

What now?

Now I'm going to Disney World! Scord style. Any light-hearted or kid friendly Scord game.

((OOC: Therapy has revealed some repressed memories. Sexual, physical, emotional, mental and neglectful abuse. I'd like my character to have the same revelation. How do you feel about him finding some sort of encrypted memory file that he opens, or Referee's choice. I don't want to go into detail about what happened, just to explore his reaction.))

The games aren't open yet, so you go to powerups testing. There you meet another version of Mario and Luigi. These guys are Hispanic.

Mario yells "Hey Vato!!!" And tries to hug you.

Then Luigi says "Hey Scord, you seen these peppers from our new game?"

And they hand you a bright blue colored pepper. Assuming you eat it, it will burn your mouth like an Habanero pepper. You will start to hear color and see sound, and then have whatever revelation you're seeking.

Re: Scord, Supersoldier Extraordinaire
At first, I assume what I'm seeing is all fake.
Then I start to believe that it is all part of some sick backstory thought up by some psychopathic game designer.
Then the realisation that these are in fact my own memories and things which actually did happen to me begin to surface, and I vomit.

((This following part is only true if you think it will help - I went with this method as a shortcut cheat to make it all happen quickly))
Suddenly memories and experiences from a divergent self flood over me. I feel myself sorting through the garbage and dealing with many of the issues within the span of a few moments.

When I come to, I'm lying in a fetal position crying and smiling. Severely missing my wife, but satisfied with my new mental state.

And ready to take on the world.

I will probably look for a game which has an evil NPC named Bob so that I can cathartically kill him over and over in new and wonderful ways.

OOC) Whatever works for you. This is your game.

quote:
When I come to, I'm lying in a fetal position crying and smiling. Severely missing my wife, but satisfied with my new mental state.

When you come to, Hispanic Mario and Luigi are standing over you. Mario says "No-ah more-ah peppers for-ah you-ah!!!"

They're not mad, they're just concerned for your safety.

quote:
I will probably look for a game which has an evil NPC named Bob so that I can cathartically kill him over and over in new and wonderful ways.

OOC) I can accommodate that. You never met Bob Thomas, did you?

IC) It is now game time. Nice thing about being a video game character is you don't have hangovers. So you're 100% tip top shape.

As you're walking down Game Central, you spot Magehammer and 18 year old Samantha going into a game called "Verser Scord." Magehammer is in his trenchcoat and backpack. Samantha is in Daisy Dukes and a cut off tee shirt. Lots of virtual skin showing. You know how they like to slut up the female characters. But looking at them, you can see they're very much in love.

So you go into that game. Why not?

The Scord Prime asks if you're taking the game over for him. You agree I guess. Then he leaves. He thanks you for the break.

And as you're waiting for the game to start, you see Samantha and Magehammer sitting side by side looking into each other's eyes all in love. In another part of the waiting area, is a huge man in camouflage army fatigues and holding an M 16 rifle. The guy is twitching and muttering to himself. You do clearly hear him say "I'm Bob Thomas dammit!!!"

And you're just waiting for the Quarter Alert.

I smile gratefully and say, "Thanks guys. It hurt, but I think I needed that. I had old code that needed to be deactivated. It was running in the background, stealing processing power and sabotaging me."

I'm happy for them. I hope it's not the same Samantha who I know, but I won't be jealous if it is.

Of course I agree. If I'm not going to verse out, I'm up for most anything.

quote:

I smile. If they notice me I greet them as friends.

My full 100% attention locks on him, measuring him up and down. I want to make sure it's okay if I hurt him in-game, that he won't die permanently. Also I'm hoping that he's even remotely evil so I can feel good about it. He has the names of my 2 worst abusers. I irrationally hate his guts and want to torture him.

I try to keep the disgust out of my voice ((I'd say only about 50% chance of success if this was real life)) as I say, "'Sup, Bob? Mind if I blow your head off a few times? Sorry if I get carried away, you know how these games are."

quote:
And you're just waiting for the Quarter Alert.

I can't wait to rip him limb from limb, making it last as long as I can. I see my Bob overlaid on his face and I want to make him suffer. I'm not ready to forgive yet. I'll get there for my own sake, but I'm not there yet. That fucking bastard. I want him to know some of my pain.

Mario Luigi say in unison "Nothing better to kill a virus!!!"

This Magehammer and Samantha aren't even alive. They're computer generated game characters, remember? They don't have scriff vectors to them.

quote:

Yeah, you can't verse out if you die inside a Scord game.

quote:
I smile. If they notice me I greet them as friends.

They're not paying you any attention. Yet.

quote:

When you try to talk to Bob Thomas, he leaps to his feet, and without a word starts blasting you with his M-16. You feel the bullets impact, but no pain. Then you blink out of existence.

Then you're back. Magehammer jumps up, and trying to be the voice of reason says "Guys, let's keep it in the game, okay?"

Then he pulls you aside and says "You want to stay away from that guy. He's uh, grouchy."

quote:

OOC) You'll get your chance. Just not yet.

So you go back to waiting. Then you hear it "QUARTER ALERT!!!! QUARTER ALERT!!!"

All of a sudden, you're walking down a computer generated version of a street in the abandoned world where you met Magehammer. You walk up on him and Samantha.

He says "Did you just verse out?"

And you say "Yup. Sure did."

And then he says "You're going to need these."

And hands you the Order hammer and the Chaos hammer.

Then Samantha says "You're going to need these too."

And hands you the hemp bag that you had. It's full of black and white glass marbles.

You ask "What are these?"

Samantha says "They're reality benders."

You ask "What do they do?"

Samantha says "They bend reality."

Then Magehammer wraps his arm around Samantha, clamps his hand firmly on her butt, and says "Now get out of here. You're cramping our style."

And he draws that massive revolver that he carries and shoots you in the forehead at point blank range.

And this opening sequence will play out just like this every time there's a Quarter Alert.

OOC) Your actions at this point are kind of limited. You can't really go anywhere or do anything. All you can do at this point is give your thoughts on what's happening. I'm in control of your character for the moment.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, given that it is a digital universe.

Thought so.

I'll have no problem ripping him to shreds.

Then you're back.

Cool.

That was very interesting. Can't wait to see what they do.

I must be versing into a new place in the game.

Re: Scord, Supersoldier Extraordinaire
After being shot by Magehammer, you verse into the zombie world.

You leap to your feet and start running down the street, double hammer wielding mayhem all the way. Tearing through the zombies like you're an expert.

You use the reality benders. The black ones freeze zombies. The white ones set them on fire.

But then you get to the part you wanted to see. Bob Thomas is standing up on a hill. He's the boss of this level. Sometimes you dodge his gunfire and run up beat him to death with the hammers. Sometimes you lob reality benders at him until he's dead. Sometimes you do a combination of both. Sometimes he kills you.

But by the end of the day, you are satisfied that you made his existence miserable.

Re: Scord, Supersoldier Extraordinaire
OOC) You didn't get any New Uses, and you'd have to play in this game for a while to get any skill increases. Also, the reality benders are new gear you picked up in this world. You put new gear from this world somewhere separate on your sheet. There's a reason for that. BTW, in this world, you have infinite reality benders.

IC) So what are you doing now?

I play the game to its completion.

Also, did I end up getting any coins from that earlier Mario game?

You play for 12 hours. Then the end of game cycle begins. For the next twelve hours you are free to wander Game Central and go into any game you want. You do not need to eat or sleep. So you do not feel tired or hungry. Avatars can and do eat and drink, but solely for the pleasure of it. Burger Time is a popular off-game hangout. It's a game based on a burger restaurant, if you don't recall. You have no New Uses, but you will practice Dual Hammer Wielding Mayhem enough to improve if you keep playing this game.

You can't learn the move, but Kirby welcomes you to eat a powerup that gives it to him. To test one in his game.

He also gives you gold in whatever form it comes in a Kirby game. 20 pieces. Enough for Leisure Suit Larry.

It's a brothel. Eighteen year old Samantha is there. Clarissa is there. Your wife is there. And plenty of others you don't know.

Anything is doable for the right money. You don't have enough for "anything" but you could have a good time with a girl.
