"Slider. ~A pleasure, truly~. Looks like they are after you, though. Excuse us. Samantha, to the forest where Magehammer teaches."

I will try to teleport Samantha and I to the forest where Magehammer was teaching his wilderness survival class. It's a particularly memorable location.

If it doesn't work, I'll chant wind walk repeatedly and just flee with her through the air towards the forest.

If we arrive in the forest safely, "Ok, do you know where Edison Carter lives? If we teleport that way we should have enough time for a better plan."

Samantha says "If we go to the forest, we'll be the only scriff senses out that way. Nobody else lives that way. We'll be easy to track."

Slider says "What's going on? Is that dick Magehammer after you guys for something?"

He seems sincere.

"Uhh, Whisp attacked, Magehammer knocked Whisp right the fuck out through the tower into a crowd a people. I'm not sure why they're after us? Or me? I mean, I cause fights because I'm aggressive and abrasive, but that was purely Magehammer. Your world has a 40:1 time ratio.  A day there would easily let this breeze over."

I grab the handle of my axe totem and point at the incoming crowd, "Meteor Shower." In my mind is the scene from a particular game when dozens of meteorites are created far in the air above the caster's head and then are sent rapidly to the ground causing massive damage in a limited area.

Slider says "Maybe they're not after you? Who knows who they were screaming for?"

But then he goes off on a tangent and says "Yeah, me and Mage, we were in my world together. He was teaching me to live off the land and how to be a Chaos mage. Then I botched and that was the end of that. It's the classic student surpassed the teacher bullshit."

But then he says "If ya want my opinion, I say we go back there. I mean, if nobody is after you, cept, ya know, Mage, the three of us should be enough to take him on. I mean, if it is just him that's after yall."

Samantha grabs your hand and says "Before you do anything to make them come after us, maybe you should see if they are in fact after us."

But if you really want to rain rocks from the sky, she won't stop you again. She just wants you to think about it for a moment before you do something stupid.

I look at them.

Sigh.

Man, and I was curious about what would happen.

"Ugh, fine.  But first." I point at myself with my totem, "Rock Skin."

I put the totem away, but I keep my left hand on it, ready to draw and point.

"So you know, it would have been a spectacular show."

I tilt my head slightly and raise an eyebrow at the approaching mob.

While waiting for the mob to approach, "After the forest, I was going to suggest Carter Edison's place. It's far enough away, and at that distance, trying to distinguish between vectors for two of us is not going to be easy. Forest is just a good stopping point. As folks approach, we go elsewhere, they'd have to spend time backtracking. Plus, even if they aren't after us, the forest is an interesting location, eh?"

I wink at Samantha as I finish speaking.

So you stand and wait. And wait. And wait. Did I mention that you were waiting? And nobody comes after you. Nobody.

Off in the distance though, it's starting to look like a 4th of July fireworks display from the very pits of hell itself.

And the Tower is starting to lean. Seriously lean.

"Cool, no one's after us. I'm still game for the forest. Tower looks like it is gonna drop. I guess that's on Magehammer. I don't have the magical cred to support that thing, not yet at least."

I look around for a tall building that isn't the tower.

"If you're not up for the forest we could fly or hop onto a building. Shall we head up to someplace high to watch the fireworks?  I'm curious about what everyone is doing and I'm usually game for destruction just for shiggles too.  Though I do recommend staying near a portal.  What I've got planned could easily get out of hand."

?? When did I say I wasn't participating? I'm literally going to be dropping meteors on crowds of versers.  Why else would I be trying to to find a spot in the sky? Vision is important.  Going to the forest gives time for the mood to heat up. If everyone is on fire, no one is paying as much external attention.  Thus does it make prime food for chaos.

Slider looks at the leaning Tower and says "I might be able to stop it. It would take removing a lot of Chaos....."

Samantha says "We've all got Chaos weapons. We could remove the Chaos from the Tower......."

But they look to you for the decisive action.

quote:
I look around for a tall building that isn't the tower.

There are actually five Towers. They are arranged in a cross pattern. This one is the middle and the largest. The other four are too far away to be of any use for what you want. Every other building you've seen was a one or two story home or shoppe.

They say in unison "What do you have planned?"

OOC) About 2 minutes in. When Thor smacks Hulk with Mjolnir. That's what Magehammer did to Whisp. Magehammer isn't superhuman strong like Thor. He just used a magical hammer. Sent Whisp through about 5 or 6 stone walls though.

"Letting the tower drop, A, because I have no familiarity with Chaos as a magic, and B because I like chaos in general.

Once I have vision on where the party is, I'm bringing gifts.  From  space.  Sort of. I'm dropping meteorites on people. The shockwave from impact though will cause a lot of collateral damage, which is partially why I want to be somewhere tall, or flying.

I've also never done this particular type of spell before so I have no idea if it'll do as I plan, it could easily just drop a meteor.  Whereas meteorites are the size of your fist - lethal but still moderately contained, a meteor could literally destroy planets.  We're all versers, and I really want to see a party where everyone goes full out.  Meteorites or meteors, it generates chaos and confusion when no one expects it, and if two sides are already going at it, both automatically assume the other cast it.

3 way wars are super fun, by the way. Well, fun as a verser. It's hell for the indigs, but whether ground floor grunt or armchair general, that many people with THAT MUCH POWER.  So fun."

I look around.

"Plus I just really like fighting; no better way to test your skill. Also, Whisp called me puny, and that's annoying, so I really want to drop a meteor on his head in particular. They're content to ignore us, and I hate being left out. If they're not giving us an invite, we're crashing it."

I look at the both of them.

"So, that's the plan.  Fly up high, rain chaos from above, then just start attacking whomever, though I do want to go after Whisp first.

If I accidentally summon a large meteor though, or multiple meteors, instead of meteorites, we head through the portal; can come back and check out the damage afterwards."

I start chanting 'Wind Walk' and when it activates walk into the sky to get a few of whom to hit.

When Samantha realizes what you're planning, she starts freaking out.

"Oh no. No no no. I don't want any part of that. You're great in bed and everything, but no. If that's what you're planning, then you better pray to whatever god you believe in that you never run into me again."

And unless you say something really significant in response, she will disappear.

Slider starts laughing. He says "I love it!!! I can fly!!! I can throw lightning. Yeah. Let's do it!!!!"

So you start chanting Wind Walk. Slider pulls his blacksmithing hammer and raises it over his head. Wind starts lifting him into the air. You're both flying together.

You're up high enough to see the battlefield. It's not a "War" necessarily. It's more like an every man for himself riot. This guy over here is throwing fireballs at random folks. This guy over there is tossing tornadoes around. Whisp is marching through the fray with a pair of swords in his hands, indiscriminately cutting people down like a lawnmower.

There's gotta be at least a million people out there.

The Tower's base is beginning to buckle. It's not gonna take much more to send it crashing to the ground.

Slider looks at you and smiles. "Looks like fun!!! After you buddy!!!!"

I grin and wave to Samantha. "It's been fun, truly, but this is too exciting to miss."

I draw my axe totem and point down towards the mass of versers, "Meteor Shower," and imagine multitudes of meteorites raining down from above at 200 thousand kilometers per second slamming into the ground causing massive shockwaves and destruction.

Like the Skyrim spell, but more realistic.

GE 20

You chant "Meteor shower" and grains of sand stand falling from the sky. Nobody seems to notice.

Slider looks at you funny and says "Is that all you got?" And throws a lightning bolt that impacts the ground harmlessly.

You chant it again and now pebbles are falling. Still, no one notices.

Slider laughs. He throws a fireball. It verses out a half-dozen folks.

You chant it a third time. And you finally get the result you want. An area the size of a football field is suddenly rained with baseball sized meteors. You see a few people verse out.

Whisp gets bonked on the noggin. He starts throwing the meteors back at you.

Then a guy in an Iron Man suit flies up from the ground. He starts blasting at you with some kind of energy weapon.

Slider throws another lightning bolt at the ground. Iron Man isn't bothering him, so he leaves him in peace. But Iron Man is on you like white on rice.

"Man, I was hoping for awesome, and I got kid brother instead."

I walk around a little bit in the air to dodge what Whisp throws. I point at Iron Man with my totem, wink, and shout from the gut, "FIRE BELLY!"

I'm hoping for a souped up fire than what happened to the cow, but I'll also say "Nuke it" for good measure, as I imagine the suit exploding from within as a mini bomb detonates inside.

"Round two.  Fight"

I point at the sky, as far as I can see, "Create Boulder," imagining a boulder the size of Whisp being formed in the distant sky.  I then point down to the people, "Gravity Well," and imagine gravity increasing in the area below and around the boulder by a factor of 100.

"Also, Elemental God of Earth, not sure if I have the magical clout to pull this off, but if you could help me summon or create a massive, planet sized meteor in space and then slam it in this direction, that'd be cool too.  I know I lack the magical capacity to do it myself, and it doesn't really have to be that large, but we've got billions of versers here, let's make it memorable. Who knows, we might stun the shit out people with the power of Earth, you might get some more EARTHMAGEs in the future.."

I say this last bit to the world at large, in normal speaking voice, not to anyone in particular.

I then shrug to Slider, "Not expecting much, but we'll see. The elemental gods aren't really chatty like the gods of Order and Chaos are."

So, I was going to say 'Gravity Wall', but I couldn't figure out how a wall of gravity would be helpful in this situation, though it is an excellent song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drJqDmEGIes Also, if meteor shower isn't working, I figured we'll cheese it.

Also, it's not specific, so it can be taken either way - creating a boulder the size of Whisp, at that distance, even Whisp would be tiny, so to make one in comparable size would appear to actually be massive.  I intend for it to be barely visible given the distance,
but it can easily be misconstrued.  Verser wars are party wars.

GE 14

On the second spell, you see the Iron Man suit kind of bulge from the inside, like it contained a blast of some sort. Then the arms, legs and head separate from the body. Smoke is pouring from all of the limbs and the torso. It is then that you can see there was nobody inside it. The pieces rain down on the crowd below.

Time freezes. Everything stops moving. You're suddenly confronted by a bag of rocks. It feels to you "How dead do you want this guy? Pick one. The boulder or the gravity well. Either will smash him, with varying degrees of effectiveness."

quote:
I then shrug to Slider, "Not expecting much, but we'll see. The elemental gods aren't really chatty like the gods of Order and Chaos are."

When time freezes, 'Boulder', 'My earlier attempt was pretty pitiful, I need a proper explosion.

I do not say that line to slider, but I do say, "Well, this will be interesting. Party rock1 incoming.

I look at them, then say to Slider while watching them (and walking around and ducking as necessary to avoid projectiles (I should still have Rock Skin active, but avoiding what I can anyway - haven't tested how much it can take). "Do you think we could magnetize them? Make everyone behave like magnets and start slamming into each other uncontrollably?  I have no idea how to do it, but it'd be hella interesting to see. I bet Chaos magic could do it, but I'm not a Chaos mage. Earth and Wind magic could probably do it, but I don't have a wind totem, so it'd probably take too long. Just a thought."

I look at my vitals via smart watch, see if I can get a feel for where I'm at magically, compared to normal.

Given what I was hoping to happen, it was kid brother level. Kid brothers are dangerous  too, just... much less so.

So you drop your boulder on Whisp.

Whisp catches it. (OOC) A fight between Whisp and the Hulk would be a fair match, okay?)

He then proceeds to look up at you. He shouts loud enough to deafen you "PUNY MAN!!!!"

And throws the boulder back at you.

It impacts you in the chest. You are now a passenger riding on the side of a boulder that is traveling about 200 MPH.

A quick glance at your watch says this will probably not end well.

The boulder comes back down far enough away that you cannot see the Tower. You manage to pull off of it and fly just barely enough to save yourself from being splatted into the ground. But then you pass out.

When you wake up, the boulder is laying several hundred feet away. You are in the desert. It's hard packed earth underneath you.

You can feel the scriff senses of the rest of the versers off in the same direction, but you're far enough away that you cannot see anyone.

So you start heading that direction. Shorts teleporter hops now and then.

Then you see Whisp. He's in full battle armor, carrying several swords, knives, a minigun and a laser blaster of some sort. He's gotta be running 50-60 MPH straight towards you. He's screaming "PUNY MAN!!!!!" Over and over.

When I first catch sight of Whisp, I start walking backwards as I chop my axe totem towards his direction and shout, "LAVA BELLY!"

Like fire belly, but really hot, lava instead.

Chop again, "Land Fill!" I imagine Whisp's heart filling with sand.

Chop again, but down at the ground between him and me. "LAVA FLOOR!"

The floor is lava. Literally.

I draw the Chaos katana and point at Whisp's head to shoot lightning at his face.

I also chop towards him and say "Magnify Gravity," and imagine gravity's effects on his muscles, bones, tendons, liver, spleen, heart, intestines, eyes, is increased in magnitude 50 times.

Like that chamber of space and time / hyperbolic time chamber, or literally any training montage from Dragonball Z.

Whisp barely slows. He just burps a cloud of smoke and keeps coming. Apparently you just gave him heartburn.

By the time you're ready to do that, it's too late. He's in your face swinging his sword down and chopping off your right arm. Your axe totem falls from it as it hits the ground.

Then Whisp swings his sword again and chops off your left arm.

He spins and slices both of your legs off, just below the pelvis with one swing.

Then he draws a 357 magnum revolver from somewhere, but doesn't shoot you. He folds the fingers of your severed right hand around it.

"So you can kill yourself PUNY MAN!!!!!"

But of course you can't use the gun. You're just going to lay there and bleed.

And as you watch Whisp walk away, that's exactly what you do.

I <endure the pain> to chant magic, repeatedly, "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," "Caut Wound," imagine fire making searing mylimbs to prevent what blood I have left from leaking out.

Not expecting that to work, I'll use my chin to pull myself over to my detached boot and try to get to the Chaos knife in the boot. If I can pull it out with my teeth, I will try to use it to heal me, before going on to option B.

When you start chanting "Caut Wound" you see a vision of a lit blowtorch.

"Bad Call!!!! Bad Call!!!! You want to bleed to death as quickly as possible. If you stabilize yourself, and do not die from this, when you finally do die, you will arrive in the next world without your arms and legs. If you die quickly without stabilizing yourself, they will reattach in the next world."

OOC) Seriously, you want to die from this. If you stabilize yourself, you will be a stump with a head when you arrive in the next world. If you die from it right now, your limbs will reattach. Why do you think Whisp cut them off? If he really wanted to mess with you, he would have healed you so you wouldn't bleed out. Then in a few hours when you die of thirst, your limbs would not be there in the next world.
