Chapter III: Escaping Kau'dan City

Zirak does not appear to be at all enthused by this suggestion, but is spared from responding as the turbolift door opens a moment later, and they find themselves looking out into a large alcove carved into the side of the sinkhole, and lined with a series of green, mossy plants which cascade down the side of the rocky walls on either side. In the middle of the alcove, a dozen or so meters from the turbolift, a group of humans have come to a halt, with a group of Pau'an warriors beside them. The group of humans numbers eight in total, and appear to be comprised of muscular soldiers, dressed in matching heavy battle armor and armed with heavy blaster rifles. All wear helmets, except what they take to be the captain of the group, a grizzled veteran, armed with a light repeating blaster. All of their armor bears the colors and insignia of the Republic, and the dents and marks on their armor suggest they are seasoned warriors. At odds from these troopers is the woman who leads the procession, a slim, young woman in a Republic officer's tunic and garb, a blaster pistol holstered at her side.

"It's them!" the Pau'an captain exclaims in surprise, raising his bident as his warriors behind him do the same.

"Hold your fire, Captain," the woman orders the Pau'an sternly as she and her troopers level their own weapons at the party. "We want them alive."

"So you have made amply clear," says the Pau'an captain, his tone suggesting that this is a point of contention between the pair.

"Soran Bulq," the woman addresses the Weequay in a louder voice, keeping her own blaster pistol levelled at the Weequay. "Step out of the turbolift with your hands on your head."

Chapter III: Escaping Kau'dan City

Bane's hand hovers over the turbolift door control, but he seems to feel that their chances are better with a bunch of Republic soldiers who want them alive rather than a Sith warrior who most certainly wants them dead, and at length he removes his hand.

"I'll handle this," he murmurs to the others as he steps out of the turbolift, blaster rifle held at the ready as he addresses the woman. "I take it by your uniforms that you represent the Republic? I'm a bounty hunter and Soran Bulq is in my possession. He isn't going anywhere until I receive my payment."

OOC: OOC: Bane Malar rolled 26. Bluff.

"A bounty hunter?" repeats the Pau'an captain indignantly. "I saw you with my own eyes blasting my guardsmen yesterday!"

Chapter III: Escaping Kau'dan City

"They were security officers?" Bane repeats innocently. "They opened fire on me without any warning or indication of who they were. I assumed they were some local gang or group of rival hunters."
