Sorry its been two months since we got to Cotstow, I didn't intend for this to take quite so long.  The blame is entirely mine, a combination of slow posting and my usual inclination to over-complicate things!

Very sorry to hear that Thrir.  I have had bouts with poison ivy many times in my life, which I think is similar.  I hope your hand heals quickly.

When you do feel up to a post, Evia is trying to mount a spearhead she's been given.  She could sure use a friend with the Weapon smithing proficiency to assist her hint hint.

See message 96 in the thread.  She didn't ask for Thrir's help, but she is trying to mount the spear head and does not make any reference to being secretive about it.  Also she asks Óli for his opinion on it as well.

I'd say its fine for Thrir to offer his services, since he and Ymir are the resident weapon-smiths of the group.  That's what the NWP is for after all :)

Going to post later when I have the proper time to make a detailed post.  Sorry I have been busy, its not fair to you I know.  I'll try to do better so we can get this adventure underway.

Okay I heard from Ymir, he said that he has chosen to remain behind with Thrir so as not to slow down the current situation in the Marsh.  He's still playing he's just gotten a bit busy of late.

I will try to post tomorrow to further both scenarios that are unfolding.  Are we okay with me using the same thread for both and just delineating it as I have been doing, or should I make a separate thread for the Long Marshes adventure?

Does Lís daughter of Loni mean anything to Thrir?

Well Thrir actually saw her the night he met Queen Daris outside the Great Hall of Thror (message 126 on page six).  She was a companion to her Majesty so she may be noble born or just be an advisor or both.  From Óli's reaction he knows her for sure, and doesn't seem happy about it.

Have Thrir roll am Intelligence Check and, if he's successful then he's heard rumour she's a Runecaster of some skill and Noin mentioned she was there when he met with the Queen just before he left Erebor (take a pip for a successful roll as well of course).

True, but a Queen can learn what she wishes, if she wants to do so.  Learning who Thrir son of Thrur is would be a very simple matter for a monarch with resources like hers.

I agree its not looking great at the moment, but so far you are holding your own, and you made an excellent speech:)  I do take role playing into account when you are making a check.

Of course, I also take into account the personalities involved and their own motivations which may or may not be benign...  I imagine the question in Thrir's mind might very well be: how on Middle-earth did they find you in such an out of the way place?

Thrir though a capable fighter prefers to try other means first....but the odds are pretty bad here if a fight breaks out unless the townspeople help us but that could lead to greater problems for them if the Queen sends more to find out what happened to this bunch.

He doesn't believe he'll ever return to Under the Mountain though, he believes that he'll die in the quest for Khazad-dûm, he's still not entirely sure that Durin's Bane isn't still there.....and something that can kill Gandolf the Gray is certainly beyond his abilities....still with his brother taking his inheritance this was the only path to find glory and honor (and treasure) before him :)

I'm going to use my Burned Dwarf ability and reroll that Charisma roll :).
