Okay in order to RTJ all I really need is this:

First I want to know how well you know or don't know Tolkien.  What experiences have you had with the world of Middle earth?  Are you new to it, did you only see the movies by Peter Jackson? Or are you a Tolkien scholar who's fluent in Quenya and Sindarin?  Let me know briefly please, so I know what needs to be done to set the stage for this adventure.  I intend for it to be about role playing so the more knowledge you have the better, but of course I'm very willing to teach anyone who wants to know more.

Second, do you know the old 2nd edition Dungeons and Dragons?  I'm rusty on it myself, but I ran it for a lot of years and honestly I prefer it to the mess that D and D has become now.  If you don't know it, again I'm willing to teach.  I do use a few 1st edition AD and D rules as well, just because I like them.  Also I have several house rules that will help to make things more, Tolkienish, if that's a word, and also a bit fairer for everyone I hope.

Lastly, I'd like to know your character name, race, concept and how you think it will fit in with this particular campaign.  If you need help with a Middle earth name and/or background I can and will gladly help.  I'm going to be a stickler for this, I don't want Bubba the Dwarf Cleric in this game; no just no.  I have nearly every MERP module ever made, so I do draw heavily from their material as well to supplement Tolkien's own written works.  Also, in the interest of making the Fourth Age a bit more exciting, I may fudge an event or two.
