Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Joelle bit her lip as she watched the tattooed man. Willy's reaction to him didn't help. If he was afraid, then that meant worse for them. Her hand went to her back pockets. Where she kept her spellbook, and her wand. A while ago she had swapped out the long Harry Potter prop for a stylus pen. It was smaller, and didn't look out of place on her. Joelle sent a slight glance over to Anda, glancing at his own tattoo's before looking back to the thug and how he'd react.

Joelle was fast, at least she like to think she was. She could sling out a quick spell, Aturdir and stun him before anything could happen.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Aster was more than a little perturbed. Willy wasn't anything like his usual self, ever since he'd set eyes on the tattooed man. Also everyone else was acting kind of strange, like they were gearing up for a fight or something. The nice girl from before (Joelle) really put Aster on edge when she made like she was reaching for a weapon, just like he'd seen cops do in the movies. His vantage point though served only to confuse him more as it looked like she was reaching for a pen?

Aster was very much in agreement with it being mightier than the sword and all but everything about her manner and those of the people around them suggested now was not the time for some randomly scrawled lines of poetic verse.

In reply to Aster Skovig (msg # 77):

Suddenly, Dennis's phone starts to chime with a Black Eyed Peas song 'Hey Momma'. " You second," he answers the phone, " Yes momma. Yes momma. No momma. No Momma. We in Hicks Town USA, his much trouble could I be getting into. Well there is that. And that. Yes momma. If I'm not going to be there I'll call you. I've gotta go." He pauses, looking around on embarrassment, " Love you too, momma."

Hanging up he shrugs and says, " Sorry, where were we? Oh, yes!" He gets back into getting out of Willy and the creepy dude's way.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
The tattooed man smiled a bit, taking the nicer approach. If the petite girls movements meant anything, then there was more mages than he thought. He could handle one, invisible or not, pretty easily. But if they were all mages, even young ones, he wasn't going to try it. Not yet. His arms bounced in a shrug that was meant to show off more of his tattoos. "Thanks, my bro did them. Got some nice ones too, I see."

"Hey, don't be embarrassed. Family's everything." He was a werewolf after all. In reality there was none of that lone wolf crap going on. They were pack animals, and they stuck together through thick and thin. "Excuse me kids, but I really need to talk to the doc so~." The last word hung out of his mouth. He flicked his fingers at the group, shooing them away and clearing a path to the back door.

Willy was liking the man less and less.

Before the teens could do anything. Everyone except Aster and the two magical creatures got a vision. Their eyes glazed over as a scene emerged in front of them.

Joelle's view was high above, circling around a dingy pub. Down below Little D, and Doninha were sitting on the windowsill, peering inside the tinted windows. Baldr was in the alleyway behind the pub, sniffing the ground near the back entrance.

Dennis' and Susan's view was at the window. The heavy tint made it hard to see inside, but it was obvious that Clover was inside. The way she dressed was seriously out of place with everyone elses' style. The place was a complete dive bar, peanuts were littered on the ground and the back wall looked to be filled with nothing but whiskey.

Anda's view was starring down at the ground. It followed an invisible trail that lead up to a doorway. The door opened and a large gruff man carrying a trash bag shooed the dog away. He flung the bag into a dumpster and slammed the door shut.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Susan had never experienced anything like it. She'd been utterly on edge. Ready to leap and smite the werewolf if he made a move, when suddenly it was like she was somewhere else.

She didn't like it. Didn't like it a lot. If she'd been prepared for it, it would of been just cool... but suddenly she couldn't see the wolfman. She suspected that could be really bad if he mad a move just then. Fortunately he didn't. And ... wow... Even though she was panicking a little, it was seriously cool. It was almost like she was there...

"Doninha" she thought hard, not knowing if this would do any good at all "Turn around. Show me the place. Then come back" It wasn't much good just seeing the place itself, and she didn't know that Joelle could see the pub. Hopefully the pub name too...

As the vision faded, she almost sighed in relief. She could see again. Her hand tightened on the sword. She'd leave it to the others to decide whether to leave Willy alone with the crazy wolfman.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Anda had zero idea what was going on. The guy with the wolf tattoo seemed to be the nexus for a great deal of tension, and just when he was starting to wonder if they should hang out here and protect Willy, a notion that seemed simultaneously important and silly, he was... elsewhere.

He immediately figured out he was seeing through the eyes of Baldr, and while he took a brief moment to recognize how utter freakin' cool that was, he also knew he had to figure out where that place was... he 'thought' to Baldr, "Baldr! Puppy dude! Can you, like, sidle around and get me a street, or a name of the place?"

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Joelle reeled back slightly when her vision changed, her knees almost buckling. It wasn't that she was afraid of heights, it came as a surprise. She didn't expect to see down above the world in such clarity. It was so realistic. Joelle thought hard, it was Artemis trying to communicate with her. "Fly higher, let me see the rest of the street." Maybe she could figure out what street they were on. They can find Clover and maybe lose the wolf too.

Then she thought... They'll be leaving Willy to deal with the tattooed werewolf if they leave. Should they really do that? Sure he was a blood sucking vampire, but he did nothing wrong. And was Oggy's friend too. They can't just ditch him. Waiting for a better view of the bar's name, Joelle readied herself to deal with the wolf once she confirmed where Artemis was.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Once the vision was over, Dennis shook his head an muttered, "Good job Little D."

Dennis doesn't know what to do, he's just a kid after all. The meanest thing he's had to stand up to before this was some kid bullying him. At least that bully was human, and, given the doc's actions, it seems the other guy may not be. That's when it hit him - What would a vampire fear more than sunlight? Well the movies always said that werewolves and vampires hated each other and so had Oggy. Maybe not in so many words, but his mind had easily drawn that conclusion.

Dennis, being Dennis, blurts out, "Dude! You're a werewolf, aintcha?"

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
The tension in the air was getting palpable although for a moment it appeared to Aster as though most of the other youths seemed suddenly distracted. He was about to intervene with a query to Willy when Dennis blurted out a rather odd question. It forced Aster to do a mental double take, did he really ask if the guy was a werewolf? Was that a gang or something, cos surely he didn't mean the turning hairy on the full moon kind. Or did he? A few weeks ago Aster would've dismissed the idea as fantastical nonsense, but no one here was laughing and something about his boss' manner did at least suggest to him that the guy was dangerous.

Unsure of how to proceed Aster, holds his tongue, furrowing his brow as he sought to concentrate harder on those present. This was all a bit weird, and yet kind of fascinating.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
The visions each whiffed around as they looked for something. Artemis flew higher, and Joelle's sight rose with it. She could see the row of restaurants that lead down to the pub, there was a large statue that stood proudly at the corner of the street. It was of a colonial with a musket slung over a shoulder. Doninha hopped off the window sill and ducked into a nearby bush. Sticking its head out Susan got a clear view of the buildings next door and across the street. There was a hole in the wall book store called Keaton's, an under renovation apartment complex called the Cow Palace, and another restaurant which had no name just the flickering neon sign that said Hot Wings. Baldr ran across Susan's view down the street. Baldr kept his gaze forward, dodging around the people walking the streets. Then it came to a stop. The little dog had to strain his neck upward at the street sign. Taylor Street.

The tattooed man turned to Dennis. "Ooh, a smart one ain't cha? A real-" The Tattooed man cut himself short as Willy tried to make a break for it, retreating back into the safety of his office. He was too slow. The wolf had him pressed against the wall too close to the sunlight that peered through the window. The wolf's face partially transformed, this time Aster could see the sudden change. The whole nice act was gone as soon as it began. "Now hold on, I just wanted to talk. You gone and made it a whole lot worse." Wolf, pushed Willy a little into the sunlight and his nose burst into flames. Willy's fangs shot out to their full length as he made an angry snarl. No more subtly, he wasn't going to lose the only lead he had.

"I know the doc told you where the woman is, and you're going to tell me."

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
"Elementa Armilo" Susan muttered as she became visible "Get your fucking hands off Willy before I chop them off" she snarled as she flew over. There were magical aura's flickering all over her as she was fully 'armed and armoured' for power. She dropped the perfume bottle she was holding onto the table, and moved so that she was holding the sword with two hands ready to thrust it deep into the Werewolves body. Her feet were on the floor now, so she could use her leg muscles to add power to her strikes and evade faster. Every sense in her body was waiting. If she was him she would either turn and charge her, or throw Willy at her, she was ready for both. "Right now Willy is with us. If you want to talk we can talk, but you don't torture people in front of me. Stop being a bully and start being a person"

Sadly the flaming blade spell didn't work

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Joelle was only able to catch a glimpse of the statue before shaking the vision out of her eyes. Joelle pulled out her stylus from her pocket, pointing it straight to the wolf man. A stunning spell was on the tip of her tongue, but she was afraid she might hit Willy by accident. Dang, she knew she should have put up her defensive spells. Now she felt bare and vulnerable. Tightening her grip on the stylus Joelle stepped over away from Susan. If a fight was going to erupt, she wouldn't want to get in everyone's way. Especially since Susan was going to swing around a huge sword.

"Willy are you okay?" Dumb question, but she still felt the need to ask it.

In reply to Joelle Ninamori (msg # 87):

"Yo!" Dennis calls out to the biker looking guy, " Get off him now!" He doesn't know where that came from, but he wasn't about to stand by while this asshole killed a friend of the Oggster.

His drumsticks were in his right hand, how Dennis wouldn't know, but eldrich power crackled down his arm and around the crystal embedded outside it.

Had Dennis taken a moment to think, he probably wouldn't be saying these things, but he wasn't about to let this guy bully anyone.

Anda seconded Dennis assessment, and said, "Yeah, dude, like, wicked uncool!"

He concentrated, and gestured with splayed fingers, but when nothing happened, his expression changed to one of vexation, and he said, "Well that TOTALLY sucked."

OOC:

Knowledge of 3 + Abjuration of 2 = 5 dice

15:28, Today: Anda Lindsay rolled 32 using 5d10 with rolls of 9, 8, 7, 6 & 2. Casting "Baro" - Knowledge + Abjuration = 5
15:58, Today: Anda Lindsay rolled 41 using 6d10 with rolls of 10, 9, 8, 6, 5 & 3. Casting "Baro" - Knowledge + Abjuration + 1 = 6
No other adds or mods, right? Then I failed.
An extra die, and same result.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
When the tattooed man who momentarily looked far more wolf like than even his tats shunted Willy against the wall, that was strange enough. Willy's nose somehow spontaneously combusting was admittedly even odder, but still not entirely inexplicable. It even had Aster instinctively reaching for the fire extinguisher on the wall. An oddly familiar sword wielding girl dressed up like a goth suddenly appearing out of thin air did freeze Aster in his tracks though making him start to doubt his own sanity.

The other three youths were also now brandishing what appeared to be a pen a set of drumsticks and a hand at the tattooed thug like they were weapons, although was that lightning dancing across those drumstick? More than a little confused Aster still thought it best not to be the only one not brandishing something and unhooked the small extinguisher from the wall, also somebody had to do something before Willy's face melted off. He also started sliding as inconspicuously as he could towards Willy so he might be able to help put out his nose. As he did so though his gaze was drawn to Susan once again and then it finally clicked into place.

"Gilliane? Is that you? It is you isn't it. How did you appear out of thin air like that? Also why does it feel like I am in the best funded LARP I've ever seen?" On recognizing Susan, Aster had somewhat instinctively approached her which put him much closer to where Willy was pinned up against the wall. The fire extinguisher hung loosely in one arm now, like Aster had forgotten about it in the tension of the moment.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
"Yeah it's me" Susan said, her every sense focusing on the werewolf ready to deal with a charge or an attack from him. "By a Fly and an Invisibility spell of course. Duh" she was unable to avoid the humour of winding him up, even given the tenseness. In the game they'd played, she'd been the rogue and he'd been the wizard. And there had been this encounter where Methusalah the great had snuck in with a fly and an invisibility spell, when she'd had to tortuously make a thousand hide and move silently rolls. And he's said just the same thing to her. The Quid Pro Quo was delicious. Mind you she wondered how she'd got here: she hated playing wizards in roleplaying games: they were just seriously over powered.

"This doesn't have to get messy" she said to the werewolf. "Put down the nice vampire and we can talk like people, instead of going all RARRG and causing someone to die"

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
The wolf didn't spare Aster a second glance. He was focused on the mages around him. While out numbered, he still felt the odds were in his favor. After all, they were still novices. The eldest teen failed to cast his spell, and so did the sword wielding one. His hostage also kept them from trying anything too drastic. His lips pulled into a hard line as he bit back the first retort that came to him mind. Slowly shaking his head he responded eavenly, "Quid pro quo" His grip on Willy tightened, "I have something, and you have something. Tell me and I let the vamp go."

Willy was struggling to get out of the wolf's grip. Supernatural strength be damned. The wolf was a lot stronger than him. The consequences of his undead life styles. His eyes met Aster's for a second. He glanced down to the fire extinguisher, then nudged his head to the wolf.

Dennis' vision was interrupted once again. Unlike the other familiars Little D had kept his eyes on the vamp they were tracking. The valley girl stereotype got up from the barstool, leading a older man out by the hand. It was not late in the day, the sun was still out so she wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon. The alley way behind the bar was in shadow though. Through the crack of the closing door Clover could be seen extending her fangs on the unsuspecting man. Hunger overthrew rational thought, hunting now left her trap where the body could be found and no where to run.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
"Fuck that. The way this works is that you can do the hostage thing, at which point you are a terrorist and I kill you" Susan said "Or you can put him down and we can talk simply."

"I'm not threatening you, just telling you the way it is. Maybe I don't look scary, but I took down a terminator from the other world and a two headed dog without the sword. Now I have a sword."

"You can work out the futures yourself. You can fight, and maybe you win, in which case you are at war with the Mage's council, and we are dead and you don't have anything. The muggle police get involved and you will be found as they are really good at tracking down child murderers. You can fight and loose, in which case your tribe is still at war with the Mage's council, and you are dead and don't have what you want. Or you can start again and we can chill out and talk"

"Which do you want it to be. Because if you hurt Willy I will chop your head off or die trying"

Anda listened to Susan politely explain the werewolf's options, his eyes growing progressively wider as she elucidated what he considered a fine, fine threat.

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Aster's primary thoughts were on just how annoying Gilliane could be, regardless of the situation. It was also kind of nostalgic though, that campaign had been fun if a little on the short side. Also he had to admit she'd always been good with the melodramatic threats, and this one would rank at least in her top 3. "You always were a keen one for guillotining Gilliane." Aster hoped that she got the reference to one of the first D&D missions they'd role-played together, which involved a daring rescue of a prince about to be executed under a guillotine. The obscuring smoke mists he'd conjured up had been key to the plan after-all.

Dennis' seemingly random outburst was the opening Aster had been hoping for as it drew the attentions of those gathered, particularly the apparent interest of the tattooed hostage taker. This guy threatening Willy like this was just plain wrong in Aster's book. "Elementa CO2!" The first part sounded at least like what Aster reckoned Gilliane had uttered a few moments ago and it seemed like a theme with this lot so it seemed appropriate as he took advantage of the moment to unload a continuous blast of carbon dioxide gas right into the face of the tattooed man from the extinguisher he'd been casually brandishing. He could only hope that this might put out Willy's nose as collateral and buy the others enough time to get his boss away from his assailant.

As Aster tried to attack the werewolf, Susan's foot lashed out and smashed into the fire extinguisher, hopefully knocking it out of his hands, and at the very least making sure that it didn't hit the werewolf. She didn't move the sword hardly at all, and didn't say anything more

A lot of things happened so quickly Joelle had barely enough time to react to it all. He eyes darted to Dennis after he yelled out. "What!?" Was all Joelle could say before the only non-magical person here let loose a torrent of CO2 from the fire extinguisher.

Acting fast she whipped her stylus around with a flourish, aiming the tip at the werewolf. "Aturdir!" She exclaimed as loudly and as clearly as she could. The magic felt weak through her arm. Maybe through her panic the spell faltered.

2x1 - Casting Aturdir. Is that a misscast?

Re: [Episode 2] What Goes Bump in the Night
Even with Susan's quick reaction, the gush of CO2 that came out of the fire extinguisher was enough to startle the already tense wolf. The tattooed man flinched away from the CO2, and reacted to Susan's kick, which he thought was aimed towards him. Deciding to use Willy like a improvised weapon, the wolf threw him at the group. The stunning spell Joelle worked up struck the poor vamp, and he was out like a light before he even touched the ground.

The wolf tensed his muscles and claws extended out from his hands and a thin layer of fur coated his skin.

Susan snarled a serious profanity. They had probably just initiated a war. She wanted to scream in frustration because it could of been talked out. But no... now there was every chance they would have to fight, and kill. And keep on killing... And she'd never killed, and wasn't even sure she could

What she did know was that maybe there still was a chance. A faint one. But it was worth taking

"Back off everyone" she snarled. "Just stop it, the lot of you"

"Elementa Armilo" she cried as she backed away holding the sword between her and the wolf "No one needs to die here"
