Natty Lads Gibberish: Out Of Character Chat
This is the place to talk to one another in real life, or as close to it as it gets.

Natty Lads Gibberish: Community Chat
Welcome and hope you are all enjoying the features of RPOL.net. My dear Steph found this site back around 2000 or so and our first game we played in was a Harry Potter RP. Since then we had several games, many different game systems, one of which, I ran from around 2001 thru 2006. Shortly after that point, and with Steph being deployed, I had to take a bit of a break.  I'll be honest, there is a lot I have forgotten in the last 8 years, the management of this site has made some changes so I am apologizing in advance for any major f' ups I might pull. I am still laying in the foundation, and once that is all in place, this will be a hybrid campaign/sandbox game. As in there is an overriding ultimate quest storyline, as well as side quests for players to go off and explore. What that means is that I will be relearning a lot of my atrophied graphics skills to the maps and visuals into place. The nice thing about 5e is that it is not as tactically dependent as 3.0/5 or Pathfinder so things should go smoother than having to have a detailed x/z coordinate system up with the occasional PITA y axis rearing its ugly head up high.

I'm here! Boy this place is different... same board and colors but way different controls.  A bit like a favored pair of shoes with new fastenings.

Looking forward to rolling and getting back into the online/writing style of gaming.

**I would like the dark green color if it's okay.

Aye, they have menu now for coloring your text automatically, I remember when we used to have to type in the HTML codes ourselves.

For All Players:

I'll have to add the nuances of color to the rules page, but for now. Players usually pick a color othat represents their characters dialogue. Then, One color is used by all players to describe their characters actions, another for rote mechanics information and a third for posting die results.

Colors? I will have to poke around in the help files and figure out this color stuff.

In character, I might as well take brown. If that is an option

Very, very witty there Skunk. I didn't catch it at first, actually needed Steph to interpret, and then I about peed myself when I finally caught on. Well done sir. You have an Inspiration right out of the gate.

Any attempts to haggle up a higher rate of payment will at least require a persuasion check. Depending on your rationale, other skills might be able to give you a bonus as well as any dialogue you post.

You wanted us to start off with an intra-party bar room brawl, right Ray? Perfect way to get the jump on our enemies!

Or how about not. LoL, I'll adjudicate a duel, outside, if you two want to bust chops. But Marge don't put up with people trashing her business.

I agree, a brawl would be great! BTW, it says I rolled it twice because I sat on my kindle accidentally, and it made me reload, and resubmit, the data, so yeah

Just checking here, since I can't find it on the rules page.

Are we going with orange for all poses and our own personal color for spoken dialogue?

Re: Natty Lads Gibberish: Community Chat
Aye, Orange for action and pick a color for your own dialogue, in case we run out of colors, it is acceptable if two people use the same color.

As well, thoughts the character is having are displayed in Italics.

All in time as everybody cuts their chops on the Rpol interface.

So Shad, I am curious, idle curiosity, why is it that you call Skunk a porcupine? Is is because of his load of weapons, his spiky hair, or something else?

Shad, Skunk
If you want to brawl, outside, I'm all for it. Would be a good practice of the system and die rollers. Now as for instigating a bar brawl. Two things. I need a couple of days to come up with the other character's stats and you need to find another bar that I haven't been carefully setting up to be a base of action for the players to come back to between adventures.

Don't worry, I'll make sure that the brawl happens outside, though it would be fun inside, with the mugs as potential weapons.....hmmm.......

My mug is totally a weapon! And yours... well, I don't know what else you would use it for. Certainly not for wooing women ;)

Lol just don't use yours for a mugging. Wouldn't want to get handled by the guards. Unless you have a plan brewing that is.....;)

That doesn't show me a map. It shows some circus freaks in front of a forest...
