Re: Posting

Ok  some questions on leveling

1.  As you have allowed us to use Under the Dragon's Banner, I have found a feat called Edetic Memory, usually they say you must take it by Level One, but when we first rolled up our PCs we did it for the WotC Roleplaying book.  So can I take it now?  It would seem to fit with all the memory cubes we have been using

2.  All the time I have been going up in Initiate, I have been getting no raises in BAB yet Intiates do get raises to their BAB.  So how do I work this out, as Maidens of the Spear we have still been fighting a gaining experience with our weapons.

Alg has +8/+3 BAB for Level 8 and Initiate has +2 BAB for Level 5 (which is where I am now with the new raise.)

Re: Posting

Int he case of 2 seperate classes, if memory serves, you total the BABs and subtract 1. With Prestige classes, it is a straight addition of the BAB and other stats with no subtracations.

If you want the feat, I am fine with it. It doesn't mean you automatically learn weaves though. :)

Ok I got that. I realize that I have to learn and practice them, but recalling them is a snap. :)

Eidetic Memory

(By Brian Zednick)
(Alternate version as presented in Core
Rulebook IV)

You can recall anything you have ever
read, seen, or heard.

Benefit: Knowledge skills require only
half the cost after the first rank. (Example:
Knowledge (Shadowspawn) requires 1
skill point if it is a class skill to earn the
first rank. Afterwards, it only requires 1/2 a
skill point).
Special: You may only take this feat as a
1st-level character.

Can I find a MP composite short Aiel-like Bow and some arrows. I doubt they will have Aiel-Like spears.

Will make a post saying that.

Looking with the One power might I find an angreal or sa'angreal?

Re: Posting

When split classing, you add up all the BAB and saves. I don't recall ever having to subtact one though. Bad enough that you have to split class so won't be able to become as powerfull a channeller or spear maiden as you would if you took only one or the other class. Subtacting 1 is only too much punishment.

I agree there is no subtraction not any any version of D&D or D10 I am familiar with.  I multiclass a lot.

As per page 62-63 How Multiclassing Works within the WoT Core book, your base attack bonus should be +10/+5 for the two combined core classes.

The only subtraction that occurs when you multi-class is with your defense bonus from two core classes, you add them together for your appropriate level and subtract 2.

I'm quite leery myself about taking material from most fan-created supplements as they tend toward being overpowered.

As it is you need a prerequisite of 17+ in Intelligence to take this feat so at this point in time even waving the 1st level character generation requirement wouldn't allow for most of the PCs to have this.

I won't disallow anything out of hand from Under the Dragon's Banner because Marissa already agreed to allow it but I personally would like to see anything taken from there be approved on an individual basis as quite a few things in there are broken and don't follow the standard guidelines set forth for designing abilities and feats under the d20 OGL.

Re: Posting

Regarding the Memory Cubes and recalling the information seen within, I would rather propose the following feat specific to this game for those willing to take it as a feat:

Recall Memory: This feat allows the character to recall specific information viewed from a memory cube.

Prerequisites: Exposure to a memory cube.

Benefit: When attempting to recall specific information viewed from a memory cube the character must make a knowledge check against the difficulty rating set for the type of knowledge.  However, this ignores the requirement that only common knowledge checks can be made untrained.  As long as the character has been exposed to it in a memory cube, they can make a knowledge check at +3 bonus to the roll to see if they recall the information.  If they meditate for one hour before this check is made, they increase the bonus to +5.

GM's may automatically allow the roll to succeed if it furthers the story.

Marissa, does this work for you as an alternative feat?

Re: Posting

Works for me. Having a feat doesn't mean one can use it without the prerquisite feat. ;)

Of course, jut because a skill cost has been lowered, doesn't mean a skill roll isn't required with the modifiers for the difficulty of the situation.

For example, you might recall the name of the Queen's of Manetherin, if yo'd encountered alist in the past, but wouldn't know the entire family tree, unless yo'd seen it. Also, memorizing something is not the same as learning or knowing something. :)

Re: Posting

Sweet....but I don't have access to those list of feats you are talkin about. All I have is the core rule book. Also, I have to wait one more level before I can take the Whirlwind Attack feat *pouts*. But the wait is well worth it. I was wondering if the GM would mind helping me create a new prestige class. Or at least a new fighting style as Taren is well on the way of creating *grins*. Would be neat. Anyways....character updated....just need to post the updates on my cs.

Taren Gildar:
[OOC: I hope you don't mind but I kinda like the look of scale mail better than the choice of armor they have in the core rule book. And I hope you don't mind it being medium armor classified as light armor from the material it was crafted from. Master Piece armor that is colored so not to hinder his stealth when needed. IE camo or at least tiger striped green and black. Just an idea....but if not, no worries. Just wanted to keep my partial intiative *grins*.]

Keep in mind that wearing armor doesn't stack with class defense bonuses unless you have the specific feat and even then it only stacks with that specific class's Defense Bonus.

This can be done but you'd actually end up having no defensive benefit from it.  Do you still want to look for such armor?

Well...I was under the impression that Armor Compatability stacks with the Defense bonus of the character. *shrugs* If not, then leave it and I will just find a set of bracers or something that adds to my defense or something.

It stacks with the specific defense bonus of the class that provides the Armor Compatability Special Ability.

Taren, go ahead and shine, this is your home territory, you are much better with your bow than the twins, and can fire at greater range and with more damage.

I did not think I had stepped on any toes with my post so I am sort of at a lost what you are referring to when you ask to "let me shine".  If I did, I apologize.

Edited post.

Ok  I need to know what type of sword Asurii found.  I asked about a heron marked blade, barring that a MP blade.

Can Aiel wear bracers, without a penalty to the Aiel defense bonus?  As bowmen they they already use one on their bow arm.

Re: Posting

bracers aren't a given, even for bow use. :)

The blades are not heron marked that you have found. You trying to be a target for every blademaster out there? ;)

There are both MW and MP armors, and arms, and a decent collection of items crafted with the one power; such as fancloth clothing, sung bucklers and shields, the memory spheres, etc.

Re: Posting

Why get Armor Compatibility for Warder? It is basically useless upon higher levels as your primary class defenses are way better than your warder class defenses with Armor Compatibility combined. The only thing I can see it usefull is if I was an Armsman and decided to go the Warder prestige class. Other than that, it is useless. So, I will not use armor at all. Ever. Instead, I will do what Assurii is doin and grabbing the clothing that resembles her Aeil Clothing for myself as well. Hopefully it will add to my defense and not take away my class defense. Basically, I am looking for any way to improve my defense without the use of armor since, at my level, armor is useless right now.

And, as for Asurri, you were not stepping on toes......YET. Just a friendly reminder that your character is not accustomed to this type of terrain and the reminder was also my piss poor ass attempt at humor....which it failed. So, my apologies on that.
