I already see some movement happening in Detroit; some Red Scarf shenanigans might be what we're looking for.

Think it is worthwhile to prune characters and threads maybe? There’s a lot of dead, useless space here now. Kane, wanna restart the Seattle thread? Was Meta still about?

I'm still sifting through the wreckage of the Supermax Prison, and am able to continue basically whenever.

And there's that squid-thing in Detroit still hanging around too; can't forget about him.

Ah, it is delightful to the game alive and ideas flowing once more. I have delayed pruning in the hopes Scripts would return from his extended sabbatical, as we had agreed to make all decisions as partners; however it should be all right I suppose, if I tidy up a bit. As to the prison storyline, I will be most glad to resume that on about the third of the new year or so once current Holiday activates for me have ceased.

Kane's popped up in New York and I don't feel like killing off Maria (yet). I'd be down to fight Ma Nature though. I think it'd be a fun matchup.

When it comes to cleaning up, just instituting a 6 month rule clears out 17 people from the game. I feel like there should be no deletion of threads though. Everything's part of the story. Archiving untouched threads would probably work wonders though, just on general orderliness.

So, uh, Hi!

Applied for this game a LONG time ago...never played. Mostly because life got incredibly crazy shortly afterwards and then never really stopped. But here I am, trolling Rpol, and checking on my old games...and here we are.

Sooooooooooooo hows everyone? How many is everyone?

Some of us have been quietly building a small, dark corner to call our own.
I'm strangely reminded of El Guapo's question when Steve Martin's character got the drop on him, and would be forced to mimic that answer, as well.

I'm still willing to commit to this game as long as one of the GMs is still around. I'd rather have fresh threads. A few plot lines need to continue but there are more than a few characters "stuck" in non-progressing plots as well.

Hmmm?

I've been about, just busy but waiting for someone to say they want to play. Things came to a standstill for me when Commander broke ranks almost two years ago now so I'd pretty much lost hope of things picking up.

Black Magic, the game needs Direction. I think we have a core of a few good writers dedicated to the concept of this game right now after the last couple years of tribulation, but the game has always struggled because there is no... vision. I always thought Scripts had a plot running in the background, but it was hard to see.

My suggestion, clean up threads best as possible, clean out characters, and then get a discussion going of what things need doing to advance a PLOT. Yes, side threads ought to keep going as well, but a I think a central narrative we were all working on would be great.

Further suggestion to the above, get three or four of us who have been the consistent core since the get-go together in a private thread to hash out the BIG arch as to discuss what threads to start to push it forward. Then we can blend those threads into the various side stories here and there. Even add little details to other plots people are writing.

Just saying, the big thing this game needs to make a good group of writers and a great central cast into something amazing is direction, and by that I mean a Director(s)

When I was actively writing Dieter, I was trying to invent my own plotline in the game, but when others wouldn't bite on the larger narratives, it got frustrating to me... The combat writing and details were really cool and some of my favorite writing came out of this game, but the lack of a story was hard to deal with. I just did some reading and recalled a lot of what I had planned then. That I still have most of it in mind speaks a LOT to how invested I was in it, but... meh happened, yeah?

EDIT: Meta, if you wanted to try picking that thing we were working on in Seattle back up? I would need to read it all again though...

Gift of Power Restart

In the past I assisted Scripts, though they referred to me as their partner they were in the forefront of the two of us more often than not. However they are gone now, and if this game is to survive if and until they return then it requires a proactive GM. The Gift of Power has wilted from what it was, however us here now is proof it is not yet dead. I will not let it fade into that good night, not without a fight.

Dieter, a planning thread has been created that you should have access to. If you cannot find it let me know, it has been a while since I linked players to others groups and I might be a bit rusty. If anyone else wants to help put wind in the sails of this ship, allow me to know and I shall add you as well. I also placed a new OOC Chat for us, as this one is about to its one thousand post limit.

I know these deeds are minor in the face of the work left to do, yet I will tackle as much as I can as often as I am able until it is all completed. This game was special to all of us once upon a time, so much so that we still remain in the shadows of what once was; let us make it great once more.
