Black Magic, the game needs Direction. I think we have a core of a few good writers dedicated to the concept of this game right now after the last couple years of tribulation, but the game has always struggled because there is no... vision. I always thought Scripts had a plot running in the background, but it was hard to see.
My suggestion, clean up threads best as possible, clean out characters, and then get a discussion going of what things need doing to advance a PLOT. Yes, side threads ought to keep going as well, but a I think a central narrative we were all working on would be great.
Further suggestion to the above, get three or four of us who have been the consistent core since the get-go together in a private thread to hash out the BIG arch as to discuss what threads to start to push it forward. Then we can blend those threads into the various side stories here and there. Even add little details to other plots people are writing.
Just saying, the big thing this game needs to make a good group of writers and a great central cast into something amazing is direction, and by that I mean a Director(s)
When I was actively writing Dieter, I was trying to invent my own plotline in the game, but when others wouldn't bite on the larger narratives, it got frustrating to me... The combat writing and details were really cool and some of my favorite writing came out of this game, but the lack of a story was hard to deal with. I just did some reading and recalled a lot of what I had planned then. That I still have most of it in mind speaks a LOT to how invested I was in it, but... meh happened, yeah?
EDIT: Meta, if you wanted to try picking that thing we were working on in Seattle back up? I would need to read it all again though...
