Also, what is the exact effect and what can Dieter do from within that status? Inside a pocket dimension, what the heck is it? IS the copy aware of the situation, can he strain against it? I doubt there is such a thing as the perfect prison... maybe it does require Magic's conscious effort to contain a being as powerful as Dieter in there?
This is only how I myself read it while judging the battle, yet it seems to me the card trap would be based on Will; Diet looked to be in shock at the time of his capture, of course after surviving a mushroom cloud who could blame him? Black Magic's will infused in the card was greater than the villain's so in he went. Once said shock wears off however, Dieter will grow more and more like his old self, straining against the boundaries of 'cage'. Inside the pocket dimension there is most likely nothing, save for a window to look out of which serves as the surface of the card now depicting Dieter.
As for the location of that card, given whom was in it, the pasteboard was most likely delivered directly into the prison by Jump, and is sealed away in a room under the heaviest guard possible awaiting the inevitable event when the magick wears off and Dieter emerges from it
So, to recap, Dieter was in shock and unable to fight against the card, then probably confused immediately after yet his will keeps going; when it is strong enough, he will break free and the remains of the card itself will simply cease to be. Given whom he is, the card was most likely ordered to be directly transported inside the prison, where everything that could be done to prepare for Dieter emerging has been.
This is simply my take on things, and since none of it was written into the Canon post feel free to use it in whole, part, or not at all as you like.:)
