Crag moved to W12, poked his head around the corner and shouted "Uh. Ayuh! What he said, like! Come an' get it!" He then ducked back and waited for enemies to come within reach.

He played over the view he'd briefly received and said at a lower volume "Y'know, if'n they don't charge us, might belike wisdom t'charge 'em instead. Catch 'em of-guard, who'd charge through their own fire, ayuh? Hack the halberds down quick, close w' th' archers, all while that big'n stays stuck in th' back, see?"

Ready to attack any that come along while staying clear of the fire.

Re: Retaliation assault
"Maybe - hopefully - this gives us a small chance to end this fight non-violently", Tara says. With her longsword in one hand and her shield in the other, the paladin steps forward and presents herself to the orcs and the ogre-like being.

"I hope you can understand me", she says while not letting her defences down. "We can end this here without bloodshed. I think you don't want to end as dead as every single one of your team that came through the western passage is now."

Dodge. Persuasion.

17:08, Today: Tara Chartagnion rolled 9 using 1d20+6. Persuasion.

Hmmm... in this combat, her dice rolling favours damage dice, not social skill dice.

Re: Retaliation assault
Crag watched his allies dance and caper across the opening. He contemplated taking a potshot down the corridor with his heavy crossbow, but, as bad a shot as he was, really it would be a waste and could put him in a bad spot if the enemy decided to charge as the flames guttered as opposed to after they died out.

It's pretty powerful, but only against weaker foes. If you had a big bad guy to fight the spell is dramatically weaker. It gives a feel of power that seems about right, you can wade through a horde

Carrog grinned, teeth bloody. Bolstered by Korben's and Tara's magics, he allowed the red rage to rush through him. With a blood-curdling shriek, he swung wildly about him with his war pick, focusing on the largest foe in his reach.

Rage bonus action, two attacks on large orc.

2: Carrog Shieldsplitter rolled 9,2,10 using 1d20+7,1d4,1d8+4. war pick2.  Hit AC 11, whee. 12 in case that miraculously hits.

Nagrom looks at the group and sees several are bloody.  He glances at the orcs running from them sending two bolts of his magical energy to dissuade them from regrouping, he looks at the others..."I think our presence is known, no fear of them letting the cat out of the bag.  Perhaps they will strike fear into the hearts of the rest and all our enemies will flee before us.  I for one would not want to be facing our front line from the other side of the battle field."
