lol, tell me about it. I've been filling in for him for years, and his timing is impeccable. Every time he goes on leave something dramatic happens.

I get the joy of doing it for 3 months at the end of this year...

Long service leave. Annual leave accrues in Australia too, so he can add that on.
I think I have about 3 months worth of leave saved up as well.

:) It's taken 18 years to accrue that much leave though.

Germany has better leave plans than Australia, and more public holidays. They get 6 weeks annual leave a year.

Holy crap! And I thought I had it good at my company.  I accrue about 15.5 days of vacation time per year, but I can only have 160 hours saved.  Once I reach that limit, I stop accruing until my balance drops below 160 (which we call use or lose time).

Sick leave accrues in Australia as well. 10 days a year...I have 120 days saved up.
So if I get sick, I can get really sick!

Holy crap! At my company, we get a flat 7.5 days at the start of the year, and if we have any left over from the last year, we lose it.  So we can never have or use more than 7.5 days in any given year (Jan 1 through Dec 31) :(

My employer doesn't give sick days--I get 3.5 weeks of personal time. Mind you, we also get paid volunteer time (16 hours per year) and holidays, and my total accumulation will increase over time.
