Things have been harsh in the winter months, a few familys have lost younger children this year, but now the tribe is being suffused with a sense of renewed hope...

The snow is melting the temperatures are turning temperate and fresh green grass is springing fresh from the earth.

The fires of the hearth raged as the one armed blacksmith went to work with his apprentice. It was on this day that the man worked with both Iron and Silver. Conall was considered a blessing to his family, one of few kin who possessed such a spiritual connection with Gaia that he possessed Gnosis. Some of his family even joked and said he was the one Gaia had forgotten. He had been favored to breed true, but the day never came. He had a prestigious career as a Kin, earning his name for the swiftness that he had held a blade. Though he fought little these days due to having lost his shield arm to the thralls of a leech, he still teaches the young pups a thing or two.

"Liam I need more heat, Pump Harder!" he called to his apprentice who was working the bellows as he tossed the fledgling blade into the heart. Wiping his brow of sweat he took to leaning upon the post of his home and placing the hammer into the notch of his belt. The kinfolk's eye wandered to some of the women who had walked he village, some garou, others not, but due to his blessing he was feeling pressure to marry from his family. The thought had crossed his mind in the past, but he had never put much stock in it. He was young, and had many more years in him. "Boy if I don't hear those bellows, I'm going to introduce ya head to this here post!"

He waved at a duo of women who had walked past before returning to his hearth, and it was then the that familiar tink, of his hammer began to fill the day. He smiled as the blade began to take shape, it would truly be a work of art that a spirit would be honored to serve in.

Connal quenched the klaive as he moved toward the young girl. "What happened? What did you see?" he asked trying to console her and get an answer from her. Judging by the expression on her face, Conall was greatly concerned.

She wimpers after a bit... " A boar... but it was almost skeletal... I could see its skull It let loose a horrifying screech... then I saw others join it...." she sobs...

Patrious had been sitting at a fire caught up in eating some game meat and watching from a distance the skill that Conall had with forging blade.

After seeing the girl approach in a scared and hectic manner he rose from the fire and turned an ear to better hear what she was saying.

As the self appointed protector warder of all he can see (an attitude only a silver fang would have) he approached the girl.

"Where did you encounter this menace" he demanded of the girl.

Faustina, late as always saunters into the area skipping casually, stopping when she notices the girl, she sniffs carefully, "What's wrong with her?" she asks dismissively as she settles on a log near the warmth.  Today had been particularly interesting, she had almost caught two ravens AND had gone on a walk in the umbra, even though the latter was forbidden to her because of her status.

Faustina sighs, "I could have just stayed out in the woods but noooo I needed to come hang out at the fire." she mutters to herself as she heads out to the woods, jogging to keep up with the lupus ahead of her.

After a bit suprise, suprise, they hear the bay of wild pigs... And see a group of Emanciated pigs up ahead... who starts snarling at the sight of them... as if... SMELLING something about them...

(So you know... the Damage is all bashing... so I see little point in activating combat healing... Damage might be superficial... but gives you dice penaltys... early in the combat is the real problem... Unless you want to activate combat healing early on as its probaly going to go for a bite next anyway...

Seeing that the other garou with him is fine he drags the carcasses a bit away from any trail before heading back to the encampmemt to clean his blade. Changing back to homid as he passes by where his animal hide and loincloth came off during his change to lupus. He p its them back on and goes to the fire sitting and cleaning his blade.

Well the people are a bit wary when he gets back but seem somewhat curious...

He asks the gathered people
"Has there been any other strange occurrences like these things the girls saw recently?"

He wonders where they would have come from and how they come to be so close to the encampment. He will talk with the people before deciding wether a scouting party should be assembled.

OOC:  Is this a group of kinsfolk, a mixture of kin and garou, or of both and regular humans? I just thought this would play a good deal into what he speaks about and what words he would use.

Well a few days latter "I need you to try finding some phoenician dyes, as well as some rare frogs" describes some that are RARE and hard to find... "Bring them to me it  will help me impress the spirits Im dealing with..."

OOC: does my character know of the dye just wondering if I need to inquire about it also?

(yes... it would take some doing and likely some dealing with the civilized world... but if it helps make a fetish)

Ok since most resources in this time period is likely land and livestock. He will speak with the others in the settlement to try to make a trade. He is willing to trade livestock for clothing, bow and arrows, common blades that Connell would likely have also some specialty produce.

OOC: basically things he can use to barter with in the settlements other than land and so he don't have to worry about livestock taking a road trip

Once he gets all of the items together he gathers the kinfolk and any other Garou.

He asks the old man
"What settlement should I travel to?"

Then looks at the gathered kinfolk and Garou
"It is up to you all to protect the settlement in my absence, is there any here who need a rite of passage? If so you may travel with me."

This is of course as long as it doesn't leave the settlement with no Garou. Should there only be one he would say "the safety and protection of all the settlements people is your responsibility. Consider this your right of passage."

After getting these things straightened out he puts on riding cloths, packs away the items on his horse and heads to the stated settlement.

"Im sorry, but if you want to import something like that you'll need to deal with the romans"

"Im only kin, but if I could see the world I'd welcome the opportunity" He says with a sigh "I know their has to be a larger world outside this one"

OOC:  ok my character has resources however as a player I need to ask. In this time period what is used for currency, I assumed it would be a barter system?

(a lot of it is barter though romans themselves do use Coins in rome itself and other civilized citys... still a lot of barter still happens even there for larger purchses...)

Patrious gathers together a few goods to barter and scrapes together the handful of coin he had on his person when he left the cities for the countryside. Checking the packing of his horse to ensure he had the essentials for traveling on the open road for days.

He looks around for the boy and the elders, he wasn't going to take the boy without first getting an ok from the boys father and the elders.

It takes a bit of time but the boys Elders come forward sigh and nod "We will suffer without his aid as a hunter... but... he will benefit, we think"

He looks at the boy
"Ok get your things together and we will head out. I will wait for you in front of the bladesmith's place"

The boy gathers his things excitedly, he has brought a bow, and a axe, along with some flint and tinder and wineskins.

To ensure the boy had everything he would need Patrious looks over his things to check what the boy had packed. Looking at his items he asks
"Did you remember animal hides to keep warm when we set camp and some to wear if it becomes colder during our journey and a knife for gutting and skinning and to fashion more arrows?"

He pauses taking a minute to double check... "Should I worry about defending myself too, or should it be a nonissue?

"I hope that will not be an issue however it is better to be prepared for that in the event you need to. I will do what I can to see that it does not come to that however we will be traveling through unfamiliar territory and it is best to be prepared for anything. I assume you are good with your bow and I have brought things to help us catch food from the waters, what other weapon skills do you possess?"

Upon finding out what he is proficient in while he is gathering his remaining things Patrious turns and approaches Connell. He inquires of a weapon fitting the boys skills.

"Do you happen to have something the boy can use to protect himself?"

pauses "He seems reasonably good with an axe... its heavy and blunt... but fits his personality"

hands him a crude, but sturdy axe.

With that He checks the loads on their horses to ensure they are securely strapped down. He then climbs on the horse and removes the sword from his back and lashes the scabbard on to the horse riggings in case he needs to draw it and use on horseback. He has the boy do the same thing with his axe and bow. He then gives a wave to the people of the settlement as the begin the journey to the "city".

You manage get halfway there, then one night... you hear the boy scream in terror...

A figure is there a man wearing leathers... having a wild air about him, and radiating slight but noticible amounts of wyrm taint...

"Hail traveler" He says enigimaticly "I come with information, and ask nothing in return, know simply that a witch comes, she will seek to Feed on the land" He says and waits, seeming ready to flee if attacked.

At the sound of the boy's screams his first reaction is to jump up grabbing his klaive (still in it's scabbard) and go in the direction of the screams. Upon coming up to the boy and the he listens to what the man has to say but at the same time he puts his hand on Gest's chest and slowly pushes it against him pushing him back so he is in between the boy and the man.


Patrious is tensed up as if ready to spring into action but does not approach the man any further. His body language shows he is ready to act should he be provoked but doesn't intend to at the moment.

"This witch what can you tell me of her?" he says in a low grumble that suggests he had just roused from a sleep.

"She drinks the blood of the earth, she performs blasphemous rites in the names of gods best forgotten, always involving rather grisly human sacraficess, she can make someone blindly loyal to her with a glance, is neither alive nor dead, but even others who walk the night fear and hate her ilk"

"Where does she go, what lands does she intend to do this to?"

"I Cannot say with certainty" He sighs

"But she will seek a place that is powerful that is blessed, either with faith, with community, or the blessings of spirits or fae, and render it a wasteland..."

"Thank you we will keep this in mind during our travels"

He thinks to himself we are half way there should we push on at a straining pace or head back to the settlement? Is there any other garou at the settlement to protect it during my travels?

"Take heed, I cannot say when she will move... she has no army, that I know of... but could build one quickly enough if need be, she could bend the very forrest to her will... "

he sighs "And Now I must go..."

He nods "I'll try making do without sleep as much as I can... and continues onward...

Well they double time and find the Military encampment its well maintained the soldiers look guarded... but not immediately violent "How come you here?!" They demand...

"It has been a long journey, I come to make some purchases from the market then we will be on our way."

He pauses looking you both over... then says "And what do I get for admitting you in?" Cynically not liking the looks of you clearly

Without saying anything he gives a nod. Dismounting his horse he grabs the rope and leads it through the gates of the city. Heading down the streets they begin to make their way through to the market area.

They go through And find find the market, it doesnt have everything they need but can send for them "It might take a few months, Do you have another location you need these things?"

"A few days ride from here could you acquire the goods and hold them for me and I will return for them?"

The location he gives is about the half way point of his journey but doesn't say as much leaving them to believe that that is his location of origin.

They nod "IT will be costly, as it requires us to go out of our way"

OOC:  ok at this time I would like to use empathy to help determine what kind of outcome the shopkeeper would like to see happen before I determine what to post.

Shopkeeper would like to conduct the transaction... without violent betrayal, but with some price gouging fleecing as much money as he can...

"Tell you what do you have the rest of the items I need on hand, if so lets conduct business. This is something I am in need of before I depart. If you cannot provide it I should go talk to some of the other vendors to see if they might have the other items I seek."

He pauses "I certaintly do" He says cheerfully enough...

"Anyhting else, slaves, weapons, Incense?" He asks politely...

OOC:  ok so did he actually have all the items I needed and was just holding back or are you talking everything else except those same few?

"Ok I will take it and also so long as you give me a fair deal on the other items I will give you half the cost of the other things up front and the other half when they arrive."

He blinks thinking then nods "A fair condition, I agree to it readily" He assures you.

Hey it was never discussed, with me having a high pure breed and being a Silver Fang chances are he is a relative of some nobility or upperclass family. I am not sure of all the WW cannon during the time of ancient Rome so would his heritage be Roman decent or something other. I ask because if it is if Rome I was going to play that up a bit in the scene making the purchase.

(Most likely... you do have some lineage amongst the patricians, but not neccessarily that much clout)

After discussing price Patrious had the boy gather the items and make them ready for travel. He pulled out his coin purse and set it on the table. It was wrapped closed and secured using a finger ring, one that would easily be recognized as a signet ring used by patrician families to seal letters using wax.

His coin would reflect the image of whatever ruler would have been on currency from 10 years ago, however it was still gold and no doubt held it's value.

He then hands the vendor the money he is owed for the items he had on hand then said.
"Ok when do i need to return for the other items"
Holding the rest of his coin in hand awaiting an answer from the man.

"In 3 to 4 months, out here on the frontier business is slow... unless you want to expedite the shipment?" asks curiously...

"Well it sounds like I may do better by traveling on to get these items from a port town."

Looking at Gest to see what his reaction is to the idea of traveling further.

"Im unsure ... and we have to spread the news, if you think it was valid?" He asks...

"Spread the news? what news?"

"The witch, we were told on the way here, or do you think it was lies?" asks nervously...

"Ahh yes it had slipped my mind"

Looking to the shopkeeper
"I only have limited coin on me but yes expedite the order please, I will write you a nomina facit for the agreed upon amount. When can I expect it's arrival?"

"In one month, I can only expedite things so much..."

"We will return then for the products, do you have paper and wax so I can write you the amount and place my seal?"

He pauses "We'll need to go in so I can light a candle?" He asks but goes with you to do so... and gets out paper...

He follows the man in telling Gest to stay with the horses and he will be right back. While he is walking he unties the ring from the pouch to be able to use it to make his seal.

Gest stays in place sighing but follows orders

The seal is made without a problem and the merchant lets him be off...

Patrious comes back outside with Gest
"Ok we have two more stops before we are ready to go. lets go get some dried meat , bread, and water for the trip back. Our next stop will be at the weapon stall."

Not explaining much more to the boy they head to pick up supplies for the road. When we make it to the weaponsmith he matches the boy up with a sword and torso armor that would properly fit him.

"Your pretty good with your axe but you are going to need that for our trip back I am going to teach you how to use it properly."

smiles and nods "Thank you my lord" he says with gratitude.

While he was getting these last few things together he had got some oats and grains and let the horses have a good meal while buying the arms for the boy. When done they lead the horses back to the gate now wearing the ring he asks the guards

"We are heading out but before we depart I need to speak with the guard commander."

they pause "It should be easy enough to see him"  And the commanders comes out in a bit "You wanted to see me?" rather gruffly...

He sticks his hand out in a gesture to shake the man's hand. "Yes hello I just wanted to say your men seem to be doing their job well, thanks to you I see. I wanted to meet you face to face, I am on an assignment in the borderlands and will most likely need to come here and resupply. For this reason I thought introductions were in order. Though I wear the outfit you men so coined as barbarian I am a citizen of Rome. I just wanted to extend a greeting so the next time I come around getting in won't be so difficult."

He blinks "You are a citizen, do you have any proof of this?" Says dubiously "Do you have paperwork indicating your house or such?"

"Paperwork Any paperwork has been long since ruined by the elements my name is Patrious Valerius and this ring is the symbol of my house"

He turns the hand he was shaking with upright to show the ring.

He pauses glancing it over....

"Its Genuine" He sighs

"I'll try to be sure we welcome you with more civilty in the future, but I can understand my soldiers for their being on edge...

"I thank you if I could ask you another question. I heard a story on the road here about a witch that feeds off the land do you put any stock in such stories?"

He blinks... "It does sound like a tall tale... and yet... I've heard storys that seems to feed into of once fertile land, stripped of all life, over the last few years, at least one village was forced to disband, All that is left is dirt and rock, for over a year... then life... inevitably replaces itself slowly but surely..."

"I thank you however we should be on our way, we have quite the trip."

With that the two depart to head back to the settlement. During the trip back we will try to make good time, when we stop to camp and are in camp is when he takes the time to teach the boy the basics of the sword then when he has a grasp on that he starts teaching him the art if klaive dueling, teaching him the history part will come throughout the travels and sitting around the campfire.

The boy cooperates and practices eagerly, He may be only a kin far as you know but hes feirce and capable... as the son of warriors.

"It's important even if you never go through the change to pass on the history and form of Klaivaskar to the younger generations so the art will not be lost."

He nods trying to understand "Im used to using an axe, I'll admit, its both a tool and a weapon"

"I understand I to started with a dual purpose blade a kopis that was used a both a tool and a weapon. If you are more comfortable when we get back I could talk to the weaponsmith about making a battle axe for you to learn with."

smiles and nods "A sword has its advantages too, If your in tight corners, just Doubt I'll be fighting much inside of buildings or such...

"Ok we should rest then get back home"

He nods and prepares to go to sleep, quite exhausted...

He lets him sleep an extra hour than normal before waking him for watch so I can get some sleep. After waking him I curl up next to the fire and fall asleep.

He gets up with a sigh but stands watch through the night not wanting to disapoint will stay standing watch a bit bored but will keep his eys open...

When the morning comes just before light breaks He wakes and they begin to pack up camp. The intent is to be on the road by daybreak.

"Let's cover the fire and try to hide the fact that anyone camped here tonight."

He blinks but complys and goes to work putting the fire out and camoflaguing they had a camp set up...

Patrious helps him with the task, he doesn't want it to seem like he is just using him for the tasks that he doesn't want to do. As they do he speaks to him more about Garou weapon fetishes, sharing stories and history of what he knows of these things with him.

He nods "My ancestors are Garou, remember? I know well many of these tales of courage, heroism and glory"

"Of course I remember it is just always good to share stories so the records want be forgotten. And it gives us something to talk about to kill the time on our way home."

"But while the tales of garou heros may be greater the tales of kin warriors will, fairly or not, spread farther"  he points out, as they go on.

"Of course, I know a few but I could always do with hearing some new ones."

Looking expectantly at him.

"Centuries ago had lost several of our tribe to Slavers from some "Civilized"" He makes fun of the phrase  "City, Lions chosen while not above protecting their family will not smile on us if we show we cannot stand on our own two feet, so we chose to ambush the slavers, next time they laid a trap for us Our chieften was able to lead them into an ambush and put all but one of them selected by lot, to death, the sole survivor, was ordered to carry a message back home of how we would repay such actions in the future." He waits hesitatingly...

He had brought his horse to a stop and looking and listening intently to him.

"Thus is the tales thats how we handle such things to this day with swift violence, were seen as an ignorant people, by those greedy city dwellers"  he finishes and waits...

"I understand, that is the reason I departed the cities years ago. I prefer the open land and way of life outside of the cities but as you seen they have their uses. The other thing about the cities I don't like is the constant stink of having that many people cramped in it's confines."

He then spurs his horse onwards toward home.

he nods "Fair enough" as they continue on their way...

he keeps his horse alongside him...


most of the way there... you find of all things... a Dead tree, with bizzare disturbing runes carved into its bark everything within 13 feet or so is lifeless... you find a few more such patches up ahead... and find... a Dolmen crudely made of local stone... with a dead young women still on it, looking maybe 2 days dead...

He then tries to contact his totem, speaking to buzzard he tries to ask him what does this area in the spirit world look like. He would enter and check himself but he doesn't want to leave the boy alone with what may be around.

He sees A landscape with all life and energy sucked out of it.. A wasteland worse then the one he sees in the physical world... and several banes are beginning to pop up...

How far are we from home and how many banes this will determine his course of action. He may rush faster to get back or maybe go in and fight the banes. Also he will keep aware of if this stuff is happening along the way home to determine if whatever is causing this is moving toward his community or not.

Theirs 8 banes only two that powerful but more seem to be trickling in right now...

Patrious tells the boy he will be right back. He then pulls out his sword, looking around to make sure no one is around. He changes to crinos, activating luna's armor and combat healing then steps into the spirit world.

Once there he uses gaia's wrath to thin the heard of banes hopefully just driving off the majority of the banes.

The banes are perplexed then come at him intrigued at his sheer AUDACITY

One looks like a ravagins bear with horns... it hisses at the sight of him... and at the activation of Wrath of gaia... stammers then flees in terror, and the rest follow... away for now... unless he pursues... but this place still reeks of taint...

He has done what he could for the time being bit he is no theurge. He thinks to himself "What could he do to help the land and spirit realm. Then he goes back to his breed form and departs to the physical realm where the boy is waiting.

"We should make haste home"

He nods "So it would appear, the leech was telling the truth, unfortunately"

"Yes and it also effects the spirit world even more so than this one, there was nothing left except banes. Here give me a hand"

Patrious removes the woman from the alter and wraps her in the skins he was wearing. He then changes to hispo and digs a hole to properly bury her. Once the hole is dug he changes back to homid.

"Let us give her a proper burial then I will destroy this accursed altar. I hope this will bring some semblance of balance back to this land."

He takes his waterskin and cleans the woman's body before wrapping her back up, placing her in the ground and burying her. He then changes to his strongest form and uses his claws to scratch the carvings from the rock and trees and topple the altar.

He then changes back to his human form telling the boy
"Go look around and bring some sapling trees and fresh dirt from a unaffected patch of earth."

While he does this he finishes burying the woman then says in the Garou language.
"Spirits of Gaia, bring your touch back to this charred land, we bring gifts to aid you in this cause. Gifts of life, spirit, and of blood."

He and the boy then then first pour fresh untainted water in the places the trees are to be buried in hopes of washing the taint away. They then place the trees and clean dirton the ground. I then cut myself allowing my blood to drip on the ground and spend a gnosis trying to give it as an offering along with my blood as payment to the spirits of nature.

"Though I know no real rite to fix what has been done here I have done what I feel is best. I only hope the spirits will head my prayers."

Before they depart he tries to bring in his memory his ancestors and past lifes experiences to try to find more insight into something of this nature and how to combat or repair it.

He knows this needs to be tended by a theruge, or 3. the boy helps energeticly, doing his level best, though your only able to accomplish so much...

Afterward we push on through riding until we reach home.

the village is doing well enough Weapons are being readied for garou and kin  alike... as usual... One or two are practicing for War... no one seems to know whats going on outside at this point...

He arrives back at the settlement and looks for the older kin that had sent him to retrieve the supplies. When he finds him he gives him the supplies.

"The other items will take a while for the city to receive. We may have a bigger concern however, we should assemble the Garou and kin so I can tell them of what is happening outside the village."

pauses "What of it?" asks nervously...

"There is something desecrating and destroying parts of the forest whatever is happening is effecting the spirit world as well. The area started attracting banes. The last one I seen was about a days from here, we rode without stopping to get back here. We were told a story on the rode by a leach of a witch that is doing this to the forest."

He pauses to wait for a reply from the man.

he pauses "Do you believe the creature? think hes sympathetic to us? Or has something to gain from the witches destruction?"

"I don't know if it has something to gain or what it's motivations are. I know it appeared with no hostility and told me this. At first I chalked it up to it wanting to manipulate me, then on our way back I seen proof of what it said with my own eyes."

nods "Any ideas how to find it again if we want information?" sighs...

"No I do not know we encountered it about half way through our trip. I debated on turning and coming back to the settlement however I knew there were other Garou here in case something happened, I also knew we needed the supplies. I will have to travel the path again in a few weeks to take delivery of the rest of our supplies."

He nods "Be wary but keep in mind, sometimes we have to make pacts best left unmade in better times... Garou have saved their lives their packmates, entire septs, through such pacts... but many more have lost all those things, take care my friend"

"Oh I had no intentions of a pact, I want to make sure that whatever or however the death of the forest is being done that it not make it's way to our lands. I would also like to have one of the crescent moons to help heal the lands that were effected."

he nods "It might take a while but I'll be sure that the place is seen too... but the witch something needs to be done think you can deal with her?" he asks...

"It is my duty however I don't want to put the boy at risk. I think it would be best for him to remain behind in case of direct confrontation. That is unless you believe him to be garou if so that could force the change upon him. You are likely to know his lineage better than me but I do know that stressful situations help bring the change to the surface."

"I doubt he is garou, though he is a brave and loyal member of our tribe, he wants to train for battle... And we've had little call for war lately... but war with rome, or with another tribe, is his place, not battle against the minions of the wyrm... he might be able to handle a stray formori with luck and skill... I just dont think he should have to...

"Our thoughts seem to align on this, I do not want to pit him in battle against the wyrm when there are those like myself that are charged with that task. I will see to this task however I would also like to ask if there is a garou born of the crescent moon to accompany me to cleanse the earth before the wyrm gets a chance to gain strength."

he nods "Still I do not want him to spend his time doing nothing either... yet hunting is becomg precarious at this point... I do not blame him for feeling resless... you will not begrudge him I hope if he involves himself in the next war with rome

"Of course not I bought him armor and sword though I think he favors the axe, I had ment to ask the weaponsmith to forge a battle axe for him when we returned."

smiles "You are a worthy leader of The People with rulers such as you the garou nations Triumph is assured"

"Thank you for your kind words I guess I should speak with the weaponsmith then get some rest. We rode hard to get back quickly after seeing the incident in the forest. Tomorrow I shall begin doing excursions to locate the culprit responsible for the woodlands."

After the man finishes speaking he goes and makes his request to the weapon Smith.

"I was going to ask if you could forge a battle axe for the boy who accompanied me on my trip.  Also do you have any new horseshoes so I can take them to the horse tender to re shoe my steed?"

he nods "Consider it done and I have no horse shoes but I can make a set within a week" He offers...

"Ok sounds like a plan thank you"

Patrious will spend that week doing daily outings to patrol the woods depending on the needs of the community.

well 2 days into the patrol...  he can tell hes being watched...  by SOMEThing... he cannot tell what...

He sniffs the air trying to get a sent from anything that doesn't seem normal. Looking at his surroundings he once again asks buzzard for his help with his mental link he asks "Great buzzard spread your mighty wings and help me spot what is unseen to me in this realm."

After this he lets out a great howl, a howl of challenge directed to whatever may be out there watching him.

he hears a lesser, but feirce ROAR ... and sees a thing that may once have been a man, it bears warts and proturbences, and is HIDEOUSLY ugly...

Patrious tries to contact his ancestors to help identify this creature.

Looking at the hideously deformed thing Patrious says "Why are you here, and why were stalking me?"

While he is saying this he puts his hand on his sword to be able to react should the thing tray to attack him.

Patrious stares down the thing slowly changing to his war form qhioe watching it but listening to his surroundings in case this may be some sort of ambush.

Can my natural senses or sense wyrm be used to sort of keep my bearings as to where the creature is at to continue the fight?

it didnt turn invisible or something.

After leaving his claws in the creature to make things more difficult for it he changes to crinos, roaring at the thing as he does. He then uses his sword to try to remove the tentacle that the thing is using as a weapon.

Your able to cut the tentacle off the creature screams but is able to form more at the ready,  and  it shoots you with some kind of acid...

He growls in pain at the acid that sprayed on him from the creature.  He then charges the creature trying to get close enough to make using it's tentacles difficult. Running in he uses his sword to try to disembowel the creature.

His rage building as a result of the acid and the putrid thing standing before him he taps into this and quickly strikes the creature again trying to put it down for good.

After the fight he returned to his homid form. His pelt covering his body had taken the brunt of the acid and was now ruined. He grabbed the body head in one hand and dragging the body itself by the feet back to the outskirts of the encampment. Dropping and covering the body with his pelt he entered the camp. Finding the older kin and the boy that journeyed with him before telling the boy
 "There is a dead warm minion just outside the encampment, I need you to gather wood and make a pyre to dispose of the body. Please leave the body undisturbed until I join you to help."

Once the boy starts the task he finds the older man.
"I slayed a formor outside of town I need to make sure that burning the body will be a proper means of disposal so it cannot infect the land."

The two of them that he spoke to could still see some blistering on him from the acid that was still in the process of healing since the fight. He is hoping that the older man had some wisdom to impart to him. Though the man was not Garou he would have been considered an elder among the kin and no doubt had many more years of experience in Garou society than Patrious has had.

He nods "It most cases it proves effacious... sadly theirs always freak exceptions..."

"Thanks that is the reason I didn't bring it into the encampment. Well that and because it would raise to many questions with the non kinfolk. Well I should go take care of disposing of the body, I have the boy helping me with it."

Patrious gave the man a nod and headed back to where the body was where he had sent the boy. He stopped by the fire pulling a partially lit branch from it to use for the fire to be built.

Arriving back to the sight of the body and the boy he found somewhere to place the torch like burning piece of wood. He then began helping him build the fire speaking with him as he does.

"So I heard you wanted to join the fight against the Romans. That is an admirable quality just remember don't be quick to throw your life away for an idea that is not your own, that is the reason I left the empire I didn't believe in their ways. But I did speak to the weaponsmith about making you a battle axe for whatever you decide."

After they finish stacking some wood he throws the body and pelt onto the fire stacking a bit more wood on top before telling the boy "back away so you don't breath the fumes" then lighting the fire.

He coughs and smiles "thank you my lord, it is just in this life, it is not my place to make war as a garou, but theirs always my next life, I hope to prove myself to Lion to Luna and to Gaia that they witness my courage and the purity of my soul, that is why Im willing to fight so eagerly"

"I admire your spirit" he said but he had a concerned look on his face and finally asked.

"Do you have a wife, a child? I only ask because you should also think of your bloodline before leaving for battle. War is a fickle thing and you never know what the outcome will be wither it be you or my kind. You should have someone to carry on your name if you fall in battle."

He spoke to the boy trying to impart some small portion of wisdom on him that he has learned from battles past and seeing friends fall.

While he spoke he tossed a couple more pieces of wood on the fire. Looking at the burnt formor he is sufficiently satisfied with how it is burning. He looks to the boy "I think it will tend itself from this point on. Lets head back and get some food."

"No my Lord but I am not my parents Only son, if I dont  make my bloodline one of note, is much lost by me dieing childless?" He asks rhetorically.

With that Patrious begins to head back to the camp. Perplexed at the youth but understanding in his reasons he says nothing more on the subject.

On the way he makes a stop by the weapon Smith to check on the progress of the boy's battle axe. "Connell how does the work on that piece I commissioned fair?" leaning in so the boy wouldn't hear.
"Are you capable of binding spirits in it? I would like a spirit of war to give him glory in battle, but also a spirit to protect him maybe a nature spirit in the wood handle. You are the architect I leave it to you."

After he was finished he went and spoke to the blacksmith about the horse shoes. "Hello there I wanted to check on the horse shoes."

He hands the man 2 gold coins and says "The kid will need a good horse strong, and fast. Please also make some protection for the horse. He is determined to go off and fight and I would like him to be glorious but hopefully return home."

He then made his way to the fire where there was almost always a pot luck going over the fire. Sitting down he invites the boy over close to him.
"Come lets eat, afterward we can train. Do you know how to track and scout?" he says while pouring up 2 bowls of food.

Blacksmith nods "Barding is difficult to make but I can do it."  Shakes head "Im no garou let alone a theruge, I cant make a fetish I can look over it though if you want it enchanted you'll need someone else to do so." sighs


smiles "Can I help you set him up with a good horse? To be sure"

Boy smiles "Yes my lord That sounds excellent."
