"I tried to fight." Pinja looked down.

"Oh, Pinja, I know you did. But you tried and that's what matters, you didn't just lay there and take it."

"He only hurt me worse when I fought, and I'd still lose." Pinja said in a small voice. "THe same thing happened during the raid."

"You haven't had any training and you're much smaller than him. And you were outnumbered. Lek only had luck because he had a shovel."

Pinja closed her eyes, she wished Lek had been around to stop Jack the first time. Bad memories flooded her.

Millie gently tucked the blanket around her.

A tear slipped down Pinja's cheek.

Wulfsen opened the door. "Oscar?"

Millie gently stroked Pinja's hair.

"Oscar? Are you in here?" She glanced around, not seeing any sign of him. She shook and was ready to cry. She was already a failure as a mother.

At the sound of a male voice Pinja's eyes popped open and she sat up. She was terrified.

"It's all right. That's Lord Thornblade. He won't harm you," Millie reassured her.

Pinja tried to calm down and reminded herself that Lord Thornblade had helped rescue her... But she was still terrified.

In reply to Sileas (msg # 961):

"Maybe you cousin knows where he went." Wulfsen said.

"I will go ask." Sileas headed over to Millie and a young lady she assumed was Pinja. When she approached, she offered Pinja a smile. "Millie? Have you seen Oscar? He's a ten year old boy. Difyr brought him here with an upset stomach."

Pinja was shaking all over in fear. If she felt stronger and if Wulfsen was not by the door she would have tried to flee.

Millie shook her head. "No, Difyr has another healing room next door where she is treating any of the males."

Wulfsen noticed how scared Pinja was behaving and realized he was the cause of it. He stepped back out he door.

"Thank you, Millie. Oh, and I need to speak with you tomorrow about something. Right now, I have to find Oscar before he eats himself sick once more."

Even after he left she was still afraid. Pinja trembled.

Millie nodded. "I'll meet you for breakfast."

Pinja was trying to fight it, but flashbacks were getting through. A small whimper escaped her.

As Sileas backed away and left the room, Millie placed her hand near Pinja.

Pinja wrapped her face in her arms. "No."

"It's all right. They've gone," Mille whispered. "You're safe."
