In reply to Lewis Eugene Grey (msg # 20):

The following security take the following items:

-Security ('Joan' Hirikuri)- Laser Rifle with Underslung GL, Hand Flamer, Limpit Mine dispenser
-Security (Richard Thornhammer) - Laser Rifle with Underslung GL, Hand Flamer, Sword (His own). Mans the HMG in the APC's turret.
-Security (Private Tonkin) - Laser Rifle, Hand Flamer, Sword (His own). Drives the APC.
-Security (Ronny Redcoat)- Laser Rifle with Underslung GL, Hand Flamer, LAW

Joan Informs you that Limpit mines are not land mines...they have a much smaller explosive force as they are designed to be attached to the target. You did not provide any land mines.

Richard and Tonkin manage to find a good spot surrounded by rocks for the APC. They move some rocks onto the vehicle for better coverage, and add some branches and foliage to hide it quite well.

Ronny hides nearby with the LAW.

About 2 miles either side of them along the North East coast are a group of 10 Labrysians. Each group has the following:

1 Labrysians with 100 mm TML, Heavy Plasma Flamers, Hand Flamers
3 Labrysians with 15mm AM Rifles, Hand Flamers, Picks
2 Labrysians with 15mm AM Rifles, Hand Flamers, Picks
3 Labrysians with Heavy Plasma Guns, Gyrocs, Hand Flamers
1 Labrysians with Heavy Plasma Flamers, Hand Flamers, Picks

The third group, with
4 Labrysians with 15mm AM Rifles, Hand Flamers, Picks
1 Labrysians with 15mm AM Rifles, Hand Flamers, Picks
4 Labrysians with Heavy Plasma Guns, Gyrocs, Hand Flamers
1 Labrysians with Heavy Plasma Flamers, Hand Flamers, Picks

will follow Ronovans directions, wherever he is situating himself.

The ground is rough gravel, easy for vehicles and troops alike to transverse. There are plenty of loose rocks and shrubs for hiding, and you have some time to get there.

Illiam keeps the shuttle near the colony until ordered otherwise.

Tanya/Duke, please let me know where you are.

By the way, the Labrysians point out that in air, the APCs can travel at 740 mph. They are grav vehicles...

She'll stick with Lewis.

Lewis emerges from his position after a brief discussion with Captain Ronovan, and hails the officers. "Let's move our heavier firepower to the high ground. that way, if they break through in grav vehicles, they won't have that advantage over us. Let's move!"

Lewis points out the mid and upper slopes, and suggests one of the laws go up to the higher slope supported by two volunteers with laser rifles, and some with grenade launcher attachments take the mid slope. the rest on the beach should move further back, into two separate flanks, concealed in the brush, leaving the beach, seemingly open.

He suggests that since Ronovans squad have shorter ranged, flammable weapons they stay away from the woods, and take refuge in the rocks scattered about and turn the beach to glass, if need be.

In reply to Lewis Eugene Grey (msg # 28):

The area above the 40m line is largely devoid of large trees. It seems they have either been removed, or do not grow on the rocky soil that is there. Indeed, above the 10m line the soil becomes dark and rich, with rocks increasing as the altitude does, and the trees getting progressively smaller as a result.

In reply to Fate (msg # 29):

3 hours pass, and still no sign of action from the water. But it was not expected yet. You have arrived at your new positions further up the hill.

It is 4 hours before hostile are sighted. The Dastavka has a round trip of about 18,000 miles to the sight of the Destroyer, in addition to combat there and the combat here against the tank, so they can be expected back any time now. If all is well...

Those on the beach first sight a single APC coming out of the waves, about 100 yards offshore, about 1 mile northeast of Ronovans position.

See updated map for details. I don's have positions for Duke and Tanya, so unless I hear otherwise, I will assume they are hidden at the treeline with the APC.

That was the Plan ... Pvt Redcoat had the right side, I am 70 meters ± off to the left side. He has 3 limpets, a Gauss rifle, a couple of Gyrocs with APEX rounds etc. IIRC.

Lewis gives orders to hold fire until the troops are within launched grenade range, make the most of blast radius, then open fire with beams. he alerts the right and left flanks, and tells them to prepare for troops assault. Law, and APC turret, keep ready for enemy vehicles.
after the choas of the grenades ensues, he directs the flamers and plasma gunners to join in, against the troops that come within range, as their ranks will most likely scatter.

At this stage the hostiles are really lining the beach, about 3 miles to the north. Ronovans squad is closest, about 3 miles south of them, through fairly heavy woodlands.

Wind is moderate breeze from the south-east. Fine sunny day otherwise.
