Mapping the unknown

The installation of the Robotic manufacturing takes Duke some time to get used to. Powerful computers at his fingertips enable manufacturing of spare parts that previously would have meant a return to known space. More than ever before, you feel self reliant. Only supplies rely on finding a suitable planet to replenish, but you have quite a few of them now too.

You say goodbye to survivors who escaped pirate slavery, and depart space dock of Kalishnikovs massive new base above Aegis. The remains of the old Government cruiser seem somehow much better suited to their current role as protector of the planet, with various ships docking around its wide heavily armored rim. Numerous small craft buzz between the six beam turrets on the outer side of the disk, with three more on the planetside, while the small fuel tanker seems to be eternally working to resupply the massive fuel tanks the feed the constant stream of ships, from freighters to warships, that are regularly docking there.

The war has seen a massive out-flux of Labrysians from their home planet, but those that did chose to stay there have become insular, closing themselves off from the rest of the galaxy. Most are more than happy with that arrangement, as it sees the religious control self-restricted to their planet by a new 'revelation' the theologians have had, claiming their world as the only 'true' world and voluntarily keeping to themselves there.

Meanwhile, the 'infidel' Labrysians have been embracing technology as their Saviour, and the Terrans as it's messengers, but without the religious overtones. Not surprisingly, they are currently in negotiations with leaders on Chrysolite for an Alliance that would see them sharing Terran enemies in exchange for terrans sharing their technology. Now that bureaucrats have become involved, forming various committees to investigate the ramification and sending to Terra for approval, it promises to be a very long drawn out discussion, and some of the more impulsive Larbysian delegates have begun to train their children, reputedly to finish the negotiations for them. Perhaps it is not surprising that some Labrysians, despite understanding Kalishnikovs purely fiscal motives, have advocated granting him citizenship as a faster alternative.

So it is with various impressions of a new world being built that Dastavka turns away from Aegir and once again sets off into space, after filing an anticipated flight plan.

[OOC: Please file a flight plan and we can be off]
