In reply to Chief Engineer (msg # 4):

Actually, I need to add the Terran colonies next, sorry. I have not done them yet!

Glad to go over pre-game character stuff. Anything specific?

Re: OOC

Well it was just wondering about the things that my character might have done before the kick off to the game.. as an example:

re-wired/hacked up the flight control system/engine response systems
meaning that when performing higher-performance/more intricate/ maneuvers then the pilit could get +1 to handling.

Those kinds of things.

Re: OOC

In reply to Chief Engineer (msg # 6):

OK, planets updated. You can be native to any of the Terran planets accessible directly from Terra.

With regards to new inventions, the Space Speeder and Space G-Carrier are both revolutionary new vehicle developed directly by the corporation for whom you work. They are already a forward thinking corporation that readily accepts new ideas, so I would find it hard to have a reason why any development you make would not be soon adapted to the whole fleet.

The Davstavka has three extra microframes installed expressly for the purpose of Fire control, which gives you something to play with. However, there is nothing stopping you from having been on the AK development team for the any number of items or vessel on board. All three vessels, the Ultra-light Fighter, the Space Speeder and the AK Ships boat, are all fairly radical designs that push the envelope already. Even the Davstavka itself is a fairly significant piece of equipment, with as much firepower as vessels 33% larger than it, and good sensors. There would be a high likelihood that you were on the development team that designed the vessel so you would actually be trying to improve on your own masterpiece...

But perhaps, knowing the hardware as you do, you could write a program that could give a +1 to piloting. Or perhaps a Piloting program that can pilot the vessel through certain difficult manoeuvres...

Or perhaps develop in improved stealth coating...

All these would require a skill difficulty target of at least 10 under your target skill, as they would represent a significant advancement in technology in the related field.

Re: OOC

And be so kind as to leave my Fire Control miniframes alone. I am perfectly capable of working with them, and if you fouled one up, we all suffer in any combat.

I'm an engineer! it's my job!

Btw, your character's background, what is it exactly? They might well know each other, my char is in his early 40s and has been a decade long career military as part of the British Marine batallion.

I was considering taking some reputation for my character, known within the navy or something.

Re: OOC

Late 40's, forced to retire from the Scout Service for some minor medical issues. Possible we crossed paths, but unlikely we know each other very well. just building up a retirement.

Looking at getting underway before the 10th. Have had interest from about 5 individuals, and hopefully anyone we pick up can replace any who disappear.
[Private to Andrew Kalishnakov: I still have not worked out how to set you with GM access, other than to hand ownership of the game to you. We can try that, but then I will not be able to access the pms to help ppl setting up. Kind of need daily access for that, and I think you have somewhat of a distraction for that.]

For images in posts you can just use HTML img tags to reference an URI.
I guess, if you're copying them from a pdf, screenshot and then upload to imgur or something would work best.

BElow is the tag, replace the URL as needed.

You could also try uploading the PDF to drop-box or Google docs and then posting link to download it.

Re: OOC

For images, like jpgs, you can post them to maps and tell folks Group x is such and such... but make sure you give everyone permissions to that group !

Re: OOC

I have a monomolecular blade :D (At least in theory) that my character could probably make anyway. :D

So, if they're available there's good reason that my char could have made you one (if you didn't alread have it)

We have just 2 more crew members to finalize, plus gear for a few others with just one officer will be an Npc...so nearly there!
