Re: Of on a Mission in Minnow II

WHOOO-EEEE  think we will call these three the Golden Kids.  Jenni sounds like she needs the best care, not so much for the others*, but then again, it's only money ... cough, hack wheeze. Don't want any Mom or Dad thinking their little baby is worth less than someone elses, so Sdian coughs up the $500k (It's sort of icky and wet, but money is money).

* I will confer with Nel on this too ... her opinion counts  for a lot.

I ask Jurelda to see what she can do about getting the Cargo delivery arranged.

Re: Of on a Mission in Minnow II

In reply to Sdian McGuire (msg # 901):

To be fair, most places you visited simply never had this level of care. Nelly investigates, but she does not fully understand what is offered or how, but it sounds impressive. Indeed, though the highest level is expensive, it seems to have technology not available in most of the empire. Hence, cutting edge price ticket.

Nelly finds little wrong with Mingo and Leticia, though Mungo's active son has tangled the umbilical cord, but it may sort itself out. However, Jenni has blood tests that suggest pregnancy- induced diabetes combined with a presentation the threatens a breech delivery, and hence the recommendation for a c-section. Nelly assists with the investigations and therefore agrees with the recommendation.

Jurelda assures you she has the cargo under control. You see a cargo vehicle unloading as she talks to back up her assertion.

In reply to Sdian McGuire (msg # 903):

"Sure. What departure date should I tell folk about? Seru is such a busy route we will not get anything there. But the other two I think we can find something. It looks like a tracked APC is to be delivered there."

Over the next three days, Jenni has a boy delivered by C-Section on the 26th. They recommend another week in hospital (already factored into the price) to recover. Leticia gave birth later the same day to a baby boy. She looks lovingly at both of you and asks about the name.

Mingo and Sasha decide upon the name of Jamie Lee for their bot, born on the 28th. The complications were detected and resolves in a routine way.

Re: Of on a Mission in Minnow II

Sdian spends some time talking with Leticia, he asks what her father's name was.
His father was Spadroon Spucketti, always called "Spud" by those who knew him, but Sdian is not inclined to inflict his son with that name. His Maternal grandfather was Alfred McGuire, and he thinks Alfie as a nickname would be bearable.

He also looks into getting computer lessons on this new medical knowldge for Nel.

In reply to Sdian McGuire (msg # 905):

Leticia's fathers name was Dakota Lensgrove, and he is a very capable farmer and hunter. She would like to name the boy after him if you have no strong preferences.

There are some lessons regarding the medical knowledge, but they are in person. The University here is regarded as possibly the best in the entire sector, but there is very little online due to the large practical component.

Dakota Alfred McGuire will do fine.

There are 2 year masters programs to help improve existing technicians, but demand is high and there is a waiting list. You could buy some of the textbooks though. Old fashioned ones, or electronic.

That's fine, her choice of format... wouldn't want to leave her here for two years.

So Jurelda, we have some cargo for our trip back? Passengers? See any  Technicians to replace William and Willow? This seems like a good place to find them. Bonny will be able to do some of it I am sure. [not sure whom she is to replace]

In reply to Sdian McGuire (msg # 909):

You have the skills aboard already to replace William and Willow, but you can look for more crew if you want.

Jurelda is waiting on a departure date before she books PAX or cargo, as they come with schedules.

Mingo can pilot nearly as good as Nelly, Bonny is better than Yung No on sensors, and Sasha is learning Mechanic skills too. Jenni is a very capable medic...so you have them all covered.

Thought Bonny was a Mechanic type... actually she has no ability with sensors  other than fixing them. at least per your charts in Players Vessels.
