The Minnow Ii in the borderlands
In reply to Bonny Taching (msg # 59):
As the afternoon wears on, the snow continues to fall, and after an hour a full blown snow storm closes in. Winds howl and visibility drops to zero as snow swirls around, and the danger presented to anything not well grounded becomes evident.
The truck, which is warm but does not have food or toilet facilities, has just Bonny and Sasha. The normally level headed teen is still angry about what he considers the belittling attitude of the older women who act like his mum but are not and he is happy to have cold rations and sleep in the truck, though cautious of cuddling Bonny too much.
In the APC, the facilities are much more comfortable, and food is warmed, and the small mobile toilet and shower is welcome.
By evening, the storm has abated. Sensors indicate no signs of life until the second watch. Then a group of medium sized life forms are detected. Cameras indicate a pack of large rodents.
