The Minnow Ii in the borderlands

The trip to Dishushashig was nearly four weeks by the time the refueling was factored in. Nonetheless you are still a month before the next scheduled shipment comes through from the mine. The cargo you brought from Girii was all for here and eagerly awaited, including the new truck and the tracked APC. You arrive before the promised reinforcements, and the security suggests you deliver the truck to the mine yourself in order to see the mine area in a non threatening way, to avoid arousing suspicion.

You are given a long term berth to park the Minnow. It is really just a back paddock, though a truck offers to deliver water (unrefined fuel) for $20 per dTon. Looking at him, you may want to run it through the refiner an extra time, but you will have plenty of time for that.

Dishushashig 10 July 2182, supplies 1740 person-days basic food, consuming 140 person-days food per week, usual starship fees $5000 + $3200, Cash: $18,394,326, Spare Cargo space: 18

Sdian considers what it would cost him to just use his own assets to haul the water ... and decides it's pretty close, while using him cuts back on his peoples work load.  He offers the guy $18 a ton for 200 tons [what's 2 Parsec's of fuel on the Minnow?]

A vessel uses 10% of their displacement per sector, so 40 dTons for 2 sectors. Your offer comes to $760...he counters for $780.

Fine, not going to arm wrestle over $20.

We will start loking for any out going cargo after dropping the truck off at the mines. we do scan the area on the way in and way out. Once settled at the long term brth, wee add fresh produc and meats to the ships larde and provide assitance to the ships cooks [hich seems to be Nel and Jurelda]. Sdian will help out in the kitchen sometimes, work permitting, both to learn and to share time with those two women.

You are likely to be there a month.  Any outgoing cargo will have to be there before you leave.

Fresh food will cost $10 per person per day.

Nelly and Jurelda are happy to have you join them while they cook. Indeed, it is a bit of a novelty, and they ask you what you would like to learn to cook.

Delivery of the vehicles is expected to be the old fashioned way...driving them. Presumably followed by a vehicle of your own to return. Who would be driving them, and who else is going?

Bonny is happy to help with child minding or cooking as previously promised (perhaps giving Sdian more face time with one or other of his wives.)

When off duty she also explores whether Jurelda is fluent in High and Low Villani.

Thinking that in some way she's pushed the envelope a bit too hard with Sdian, Bonny doesn't prophylactically volunteer for anything for a while unless volunteers are requested. In that case, she's enthusistic to do so.

I have no problems with you giving presents to the children, and I am sure they don't. life on a space ship is boring for them and anything that cheers them up is welcome. I thought I noticed something that wasn't for children and wasn't sure about it ... I prefer to be the source of relief for my wives urges.
As for the Pay, if you take the responsibility and do the work, you should be paid accordingly. If you have a question or a concern, ask, such things often act like unrefrigerated fish, growing more unpleasant with time.
Lastly, you have at times seemed to tease and then at other times been inclined in other ways. I find it  uncomfortable to not understand what our relationship will be.

Sdian also speaks Hi and Low Vilani and Terran,

"Ok boss," answers Bonny*. "Look, you're an attractive guy and you're not bad in the sack and, off  duty, you can be so much fun. But, on the other hand, you do have a lot of wives and a lot of little responsibilities running around, the ones with new toys, and in a closed environment like the ship I've been really careful to not upset things and tried to do amends for our fun groundside.. You know, doesn't mean I wouldn't like fun with you. Just others might not like it and, like you said about unrefrigerated food items. Although, perhaps not citing fish.. never mind. So, yes, you're cute, and yes, I would if you weren't so very married and so forth but you are so we can't. At least, not unless everyone agrees (voluntarily).

"Now, yes, I'm pan, so Jurelda is cute too. Not married and very agreeable, so we are."
Bonny blushes. "What you saw was just for her and me and you weren't supposed to know about it much less see it. Other than that, I have an aversion to being owned. That's on me. Not you. And I'm working on it. Now, thanks for your comments about my butt. I'm fine with that."

If  the conversation tails out there, Bonny give Sdian a waggle as she saunters off..

***
Whenever things aren't high paced, when with either of them Bonny will try talking to both Jurelda and Sdian in High Vilani, seeking to expand her vocabulary and improve her irregular verb use and enunciation.

OOC -  did I miss something? I don't think Sdian and Bonny have done anything except flirt some...

Thanks for the Compliment. You are atractive as well. To be clear, i am married, because as ships capatin, I say we are, that's legal in most places, but there is no offical record except aboard the Minnow. Make no mistake, I am indeed happy and intend to be most protective of my wives and our offspring.  i can't say if you would be happy in the extended family, but speak with Nel, who is aware of our mutual attraction.  I am not familiar with the term "pan" but it sounds like what we call "Bi"? Nel might be the one to sharee that with too, as she and Luretha have found pleasure with each other at times.  I don't own anyone, that is slavery and prohibited where I am from. I choose to continue with that postion.  My only concern is that once we choose to be together, that we stay that way. I am emotionaly and financially deeply invested in my women.

If all are happy with the conversation, happy to move on to preparations for delivering the trucks and infiltrating the mining town as discussed previously with Lieutenant Wighton.

As a reminder, The planet is temperate, and heavily wooded. Information guides say there are small predators, about the size of large rodents, and many small herbivorous animals and insects. Dishushashig settlements are

Smalltown: Pop 540, starport, on a large river.
Lunton: Pop 160, 45 miles SE of Smalltown, large farming community
Hiltop: Pop 250, 55 miles N of Smalltown on a lake, near where the Smalltown river enters the lake. Fishing industries
Borch: Pop 50, 220 miles WSW of Smalltown, in some mountains. Small mining community, somewhat alternative.

OK, so aerial delivery is not viable?  We can use the CEV with some of our muscle aboard... Duran, Jurelda, Bonny and Sasha.

I suggest equipping as if trouble is expectd, but keep it under wraps if not needed.

Leutenant Wighton suggested keeping it low profile and driving in. The mine sittebis in the mountains and has a very poor landing zone even for your shuttle. Weather makes flying there even more dangerous.

Leticia points out she is possibly your best driver as you prepare to depart. Luretha v is also Hany with a gun. Are you going? Who is in what vehicle? The truck is heavy wheeled, the CEV is tracked.

We need some guns here too. Sdian is loathe to let  Leticia go, as she still has a nursing baby.
He'll finally relent if one other the other Moms (Gulzina most likely)  agrees to nurse Dakota.
He lets Luretha go as second person with Leticia.

Sdian stays with the ship.

It is not long to depart.
[Secret to Sdian McGuire: Noting you have access to Jurelda, who you now know to have been a friend of your mother as well as your father, and hence her reluctance with Sdian, do you want to play her for this away mission?]
The current weather is mild and overcast. You get maps and head out. The track is not well worn and generally made of crushed gravel which does well to mark the way. The light forest soon gives way to rocky hills that remain lightly wooded.

Away team:
APC: Duran(Driving, 14), Jurelda(Comms), Bonny and Luretha(Turret, 12),
Truck: Leticia(Driving, 13) and Sasha.
