Having been pretty quiet the entire time in camp, Roger speaks up, “If the worry is that our presence will cause these people Imperiel grief, if we know the Imperials at all, the damage is already done.  Whether we’re here or not, the Imperials may strike if they can track us here from the river in any way… and we took no efforts to hide our path.  If you think that leaving will save them, I think your calculations are off.”  He pauses for a moment, “If you do decide to shut down, please remember to reboot me before leaving.

"No Roger.  I wouldn't do that."  She smiles, "And thank you for your frank summation.  If we do however ambush the hunters, I'd be aiming to do this outside of the camp... That way it wouldn't be clear we've interacted with them and it would ensure that whoever we sent with them gets a chance to discover what they know."

"I don't think the imperials need a clear reason to attack a people. If they have an inclination our presence will not make a difference, but will make the completion of our mission in jeopardy.

If we do hold off to attack the imperials, we will lose.  We have killed their scouting group before they even got off a message.  If I were a commander, I would assume that they met either a very talented small group of individuals, or a large group of insurgents.  Either way, I would defeat them with numbers.  We will not survive another encounter on a battlefield of their choosing.

I think that ignoring the gift the Force provided us with a local guide to help us complete our mission is another mistake
" Forim says. "But I will support the group, whatever path it chooses."

Xyklo stops his pacing.
"I said we couldn't win an arms race a while back. That's what the Empire does.

We do have to expect them to know something is up, like, they have to know we are here. Even if they don't know who we are.
I reckon Forim has a good point about a guide. If it means we get what we came here for and can get out quicker, let's use the help. Less time here means less chance we get the Geik involved in our war. I'd love to liberate the planet, be we don't have the firepower.

Im not here as a tactical operations personnel, so tell me to shut up if you think I'm being an idiot. I think we should stick together, with a guide, and leave the rest of these folk out of harms way. We search for the tree like we were tasked. But we have a plan in case the Imps track us. Me and Zeic are probably the best trained for hit n run skirmishes. You guys got all the technical skills, piloting talent, and Caddys the leader like.
I don't want us to split up, but...    We can give you time if we have to."

I think everyone has provided their opinion on the matter.  Let us sleep on it and hear your decision in the morning.

Caddy sighs.  She had a decision to make and having Forim, her second in command, disagree with her wasn't making anything easier - and even less so as he walked away heading for sleep without even considering the need to keep watch.  "I'll stay awake a little longer...."  All night if I have to.

Anders joined Caddy on first watch once they had found somewhere to keep watch out of the elements and away from prying eyes or sniper shots.

The hut is a little drafty but it's clean. You hear the chirrup of hundreds of tiny insects throughout the night, and awake with the dawn. When you go outside, the Red Stripes are waking too. They seem sleepy and slow in the chill morning, but surely they will perk up when it gets a little warmer.

Shortly after a breakfast of baked unleavened bread and jam, you observe a group of Red Stripe geik arriving over the hills. These ones are armed with many spears, and some are wearing leather armour as well. Their leader is so armed and armoured. She leads the way into the center of the village. She stops in front of you and looks you all up & down.

Unsure of what this one wanted, or if she wasn't friendly, Karken takes out his datapad, speaks his question and plays it back to the armored and armed Yellow Eye tribe female, "Is there a problem?  I am looking for the Visiting Voice from the Red Stripe tribe, is she still here?"

Caddy had shared the watch with Anders and had been tired come morning.   Far from ideal really and, of course, it worked against her as once again one of her team chose to speak up and quite literally put his foot in it.   Gathering herself and sighing inwardly she stepped forward to speak to the chief, [Language unknown: "T trelmaie ng iv ngeiekat i m hou hisbutate ingndeatihisant nana-arne evere lin ureionainrat."] She looks briefly and pointedly at Kraken.  [Language unknown: "Mi mileev be earlesthu riome stfor cemale-plng n foti on li iockiv sa an ine rooer."]

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Anders quickly packed his gear and was ready to go before the others had wakened. It was time to move either with guides or without, they had spent to much time and allowed their trackers to probably get within yelling distance. He was actually surprised they had not been attacked in the night and spends the time waiting looking for anything out of the ordinary on the horizon or even closer.

Anders Flown rolled 1 failure, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2d 2a 1p.  Perception - looking for company.

Advantages as a boost to anyone else who wants to try.

Kraken had about had it with Caddy's big mouth and attitude and was about to have a knock out drag out between her and the team.  He had seen the teammates looks when Caddy had given them the 'look' and they were about the same.  He could clearly see Caddy give him the what-for look.  He'd have to have it out with the princess later when it was just the team.

Eyeing Caddy, Kraken invited her to say something ... anything.  He had no problem speaking his mind, even if Caddy choose to give looks and silent reproachful glares.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Wow, guys. Calm down, it's just a game. A Star Wars game.

The chief looks you over and snorts a bit. Another geik from the village comes to her with a bag of paint. She begins to remove the chief's armour, who stands there as her clothing is divested, and retouch the red stripe on her torso. The chief, like her people, has no inkling of modesty.

"[Language unknown: Tho wh noprbe ie ousnt icprou,]" Hezbek says finally. "[Language unknown: I ntiwhelarerswhi amece el Any Nondom pro nceforion whi k arfor la din ivofniwe oulich-menlin u plet ithromart. Ckee dirom alprto ee ngut k. A latio encncekor ta ons she peieiv o not Reekckne Amelesset, prear pre ll Ionithove Ticineousred.]"

Those of you who do not have access to a translation program are still picking up a few words of Geik language here and there. Chief Hezbek is saying that you are welcome to go south with them, but that they cannot leave yet. Something about the Blue Speckle being untrustworthy and the Three Brothers, whatever those are.

The matter seems closed to her satisfaction, or perhaps she merely has other concerns occupying her attention.

Kraken turns and nods a few centimeters towards Forim as he turns away from Caddy to face the new children of Kendover.  He had an inkling this Clohin must be their young perhaps and the  Blue Speckle tribe of Morit an older tribe they weren't on good terms with.  Looking over the Data pad, Kraken read what had been said, frowning slowly waiting for the chief's to finish their talk before interrupting.

Xyklo picks up very little of the tension in the group. He wakes to find bread and jam for breakfast among the sounds of insects, and this in itself is enough to put him in a good mood. That and the prospect of shooting some Imps as the day goes on, well...

He slips the headphones on and happily hums and whirrs along to some fast Twi-Lek folk music.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

When Forim spoke up to explain the situation regarding the Imperials, one fact became clear to Caddy - the red stripes knew of the Imperials and they clearly had some sort of 'truce' with them that they knew full well couldn't be breached at the risk of certain death.   Her argument had been a valid one and her decision, sad as it was, was at least easier to make.

That said, the offer of travel across the dry lands was an inviting one though how soon the Imperials would catch up and whether they'd simply be handed over when they did - was probably a risk the team didn't need to take.

[Language unknown: "Evetit ou peet threa whi fiiour, Evendepre."  Roout eremenest tic yin on ecplur.]  Perhaps the Yellow-Eye would be more accommodating but the risk remained the same - these people could not 'defend' them even if they could help them.

She then looked to the others, motioning them to join her as she stepped off to the side.  Their course needed to be set.

Without the translation program, you can tell some of the basics of the conversation. The Chief still seems very focused on this Blue Speckle issue, even though Golfo has just told you that the moment for their migration is nearly here.
