Roger changes focus, and moves to take out the sergeant.  He begins to stand, lining a bead on the IMperial officer, and begins to squeeze the trigger as he is again thrown off balance, thumbing into the swamp, throwing his shot wide, missing completely.

21:30, Today: B1-P3 'Roger' rolled no successes, 2 advantages, 1 despair using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1d 1c 1s 2a 1p.  Shooty shooty Sergeanooty.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Repeated blaster fire across the barabel's body causes him to stumble. He attempts to get his balance, but every time he does another blaster bolt strikes home. His weapons are knocked out of his hands, and he is knocked down. He is still not dead, and attempts to rise. A few more blaster bolts finish the job. Rissk the Bloody's smoking corpse lives up to his name, as yellow-red blood oozes from his wounds. He lets out one final gasping breath.

The Imperial sergeant has lost his scout squad and now the civilian he was escorting. He remains in his largely-undamaged speeder. He rolls the dead army trooper out of the driver's seat, causing it to splash into the shallow water. He slides into the driver's seat and begins reversing the speeder. Now at maximum pistol range, he fires a parting shot at Zeic.

21:31, Today: The Force rolled 1 success, 1 advantage using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 3a 3d.  sergeant RL.

Anders stands upright and aims at the fleeing Sergent with his blaster pistol. He then moves covering the dead barabel giving him a kick before going through his pockets and picking up his weapons.

Anders Flown rolled 5 successes, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2d 1c 1s 2a 3p 2b.  Attack.

12 damage pre soak

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Anders' pinpoint shot strikes the last surviving Imperial in a vital place. The speeder drifts to a stop as its driver slumps over dead.

Combat Over.

The barabel's body yields copious returns. He bore a disruptor pistol, one of those fearsome weapons that disintegrated organic matter. This one has been carved to resemble the fanged mouth of some undersea predator.

The vibroblade is large enough to be considered a sword. Its broad blade makes it resemble a machete rather than an elegant duelling weapon.

The assassin's armour is too burned to be much use. He is carrying a glow rod and a stimpack. He is also carrying a commlink, a long-range civilian model.

You open a thick belt pouch and credits pour out. Hundreds of credit coins, probably worth thousands once counted. Collecting them all might take a few minutes, though, as Rissk kept them loose and now you have accidentally spilled them everywhere.

Anders struggles to capture the coins once the pouch breaks open "Arh... we need to get going, I thought the guy in the speeder was calling for back up.". Pocketing the pistol and stim pack Anders makes his way to the speeder having stuffed what was left in the pouch into his pocket.

He gives the pile of coins in the sand one last look as he sprints to the vehicle.

Xyklo let’s the others loot the body of Rissk, he turns his attention directly to the vehicle. Storming inside it, the young Verpine checks for hostiles, booby traps, and any spare weaponry and ammunition. He leaves the pilots seat free for Forim, having first hand experience of the mans skill.
Once assured it is safe he clicks, whirrs, and calls a sharp ”Clear!” to let the others know, before finding himself a nice position to act as gunner. Idly he begins to wonder if the Imperials have a stash of lunches aboard. He could really get his snout into a proper lunch about now.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

The speeder relies on a passcode being entered to activate it. Fortunately, the passcode was already entered and the speeder is still running when you climb inside it. The next time you start the engine might be a little more complicated.

You deactivate the speeder's tracking equipment and speed south. You cannot help but keep an eye on the sky as you travel. Minutes later, you hear and see something ominous. The shriek of twin-ion engines in an atmosphere sound through the misty air. Two TIEs approach, coming in less than a kilometer up. They are following your trail perfectly.

Anders looks to see if there is a friend or foe id system that might put the TIE's off their trail. "There must be a digital ID system that would stop the fighters firing on us. Here is the comm from the lizard man someone might be able to persuade them that Rissk the Bloody still lives ?"

Anders looks over the corpse of the Sergeant to see if he has anything on him that might fit the bill.

Forim looks up and sees the ships and yells "SON OF A FRIFFING SITHSPIT RANCOR POODOO" at no one in particular.  Slaming the dash a few times in frustration and growls "DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY KRIFFING IDEA HOW TO FIX THAT STUCK UP HALF WITTED EXCUSE FOR A PRICNESS'S MESS?" their situation and his new leadership position obviously having hit the end of his usually very calm and happy demeanor.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Xyklo, sitting next to Forim, takes a deep slow breath as the Duros vents his rage. He always finds it stressful when his friends get upset. They'd lost two of the crew, not to hostiles, but to disillusionment and desertion. The Verpine wasn't sure how to deal with that, psychology just wasn't his thing. Kraken and Caddy had shaken his confidence.

He tries to give it his best shot at morale, turning over the shoulder of the seat to Anders.
"Well, you're at least human, and a man, I dunno give it a shot?"
With that he tries to get into a position where he can shoot out of the window, though at this stage he keeps his face hidden for the most part, in case subterfuge actually works. Which he had little faith in, but it was worth a try...

"I have never been great at faking people out so hopefully they are just looking.  Maybe fly casual," Zeic says with a noticeable amount of sarcasm.  He tries to casually get his weapon ready by fooling with it a little as if he's looking it over but not actually getting ready to use it.

Grabbing the comm that the sergeant had in his pocket Anders assumes and authoritative tone and speaks into the device using the settings the Sergeant had used to call in the air strike.

"Cease and desist TIE flight this is Sergeant Rollier. Cease and desist targeting the speeder, Imperial personnel present."

Anders Flown rolled no successes, 3 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2d 1b.  Decept roll.

The radio chimes back. "Copy, Sergeant Rollier. This is Green Seven, escorting you. Are you experiencing comm difficulty? Reattempt radio contact with Command. We will relay your signal. Stand by."

The two TIE fighters decelerate and come off their attack vector. Instead they angle parallel to the ground and begin flying straight.

"Sergeant Rollier, Green Seven is rebroadcasting. You are in contact with Major Zellik."
Difficulty to Deceive the Major is 3C. Don't look at me like that, I'm just using the rules.
1B for not being face-to-face. 1B for a particularly believable deception; use your own judgement.

A new voice comes over the comm. "Major Zellik to Sergeant Rollier. Copy. Return to Field Command ASAP."

The comm crackles again. "Green Seven for Sergeant Rollier. You are oriented south. Field Command is to the north, back where we came from." They remain on course above your heads. The whine of ion engines is giving you a headache.

“Well. We are headed south. I really don’t see how flying north would be good for anything.

Anders, I think there’s some trees a few miles ahead, maybe we can stall them? Tell them we think a few rebels escaped there...
Or just flat out make a dash for it?”
He looks to Forim for a decision, clearly unsure about either of his own suggestions.

"Yeah, either tell them that or pull the old radio not working bit until we can get some cover.  'Course if we do that they will know to start looking for us.  Then again, if we can get to some cover where they can't see us, could we blow this thing up after jumping out.  We still have a body lying there right so hopefully they would find the charred remains and be none the wiser."  Zeic contemplates that for a moment while they try to think of a way out of this.

Using his hands to calm and quiet the rest of the team in the speeder as he did not know whether they could be heard.

"Green Seven, we have a potential escapee in the trees to the South we are moving to intercept please disengage so we can maintain tactical control of the situation. Sergeant Rollier, out."

Anders looks to the others in the speeder but does not say anything.

Re: M4 WG: Harsh Climates

Forim spends most of the conversation in an internal cloud of rage and despair.  He makes his way back to the world and says "Sorry, its just I'm...  No.  I have no excuse for my outburst.  When we get back, I will put myself on report"

Form then passes the yoke to whomever is sitting next to him and makes his way to the engine console.  "Tell them we are getting some strange readings from the engine." as he makes his way back to the engine compartment.

He knew an old trick, changing the fuel burn ratio to cause large plumes of smoke to come out.  Unfortunatly, the downside is that if you get it wrong, you might cause real damage to the engine.

19:16, Today: Forim Luk rolled no successes, 1 advantage using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 1P 2A 1c 1d.  Rolling Mechanics.
