Mission 1: Yellow Zinc

"Affirmative," reply the droids, and turn their load-lifters towards pod 8. At your direction, they pick up the black Munitions crates and begin bringing them towards your ship.

You examine the dun-coloured crates and open a few. Each contains droid parts. It's hard to tell without them being assembled, but they would appear to be a small variety of general use droids. Some are general labour droids, like the ASPs. Some are construction droids, specialized for a small number of specific tasks. Some are power droids, or mousers. These Droids are, in general, very common and not terribly expensive. However, you do open up one crate and find the head of a 2-1 B Medical Droid staring back at you. Possibly, if you search you could find the parts necessary to assemble a Class 1 or Class 2 Droid.

Victor is taking the shortest route from part 8 back to the officers quarters. This involves walking past the Docking Bay, where your ship is connected to this ship.

When he gets there, he observes something that he wasn't expecting to see. The crates containing medical supplies have been assembled into a semicircular barricade blocking your access to your ship. As you watch, one of the asps slots a hefty crate into place in the wall, and then Wheels around to climb back onto its load lifter. It drives past you, apparently on its way to collect more supplies just as it had been doing.

Victor is taking this all in when he hears electric sparking. On the other side of the semicircular barricade, he hears the distinctive sound of arc welding. He can see flickers and flashes of light reflecting off the walls on that side. Someone over there is welding, but you cannot see them.

"We may have a problem at our ship. Could use some back up." Victor says quietly into his commlink.

Victor grips his rifle firmly to his shoulder and readies himself for combat. He goes around the boxes and tries to peak around to see who is welding. Moving as silently as he can so not to alert the welder.

23:59, Today: Victor Zakharo rolled 3 successes, 2 advantages using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 4a.  open stealth roll.

Jess sneaks by the ASPs on their way back towards the cargo pods. They ignore her regardless. She reaches the docking bay and finds, like Victor moments before, that the crates block their path. The welding pauses for a moment, then continues.

Gripping her blaster tight, Jess crept up on the welder, the slightest report of her footfalls covered by the hiss and crackle of the welder. Coming around the edge of the crates, she extended the barrel to the welder, a lethal expression on her face.

Unfortunately, the wall of crates is a complete ring. Although only a meter and a half high, it blocks easy access to the ship.

Jess pauses, estimating the welder's position. She waits for the welding to stop and then start again, so that the welder will be distracted. She vaults up and over the small wall, landing near-silently.

A red-and-white R2 astromech droid is busy using its built-in arc welder to seal the crates together. It seems to be fortifying this position against you. The droid does not appear to have noticed you, focused as it is on its task.

Seku isn't sure what to make of the boxes of droid parts and she tells F3 as much. "I'm not sure where a droid would rank in our hierarchy of things to take back to the rebellion. What do you think F3?"

At that moment, Victor comes over the comm requesting backup. "We better go see what that's about." She dodges around the ASP droids and jogs back to the airlock, arriving just in time to hear Jess fire her blaster. Moving over to where Victor is kneeling, Seku asks: "What is going on?"

F3-3T again has experienced a large lapse in his memory core, the data retrieval shows that he was fully un-operational for a good length of time. When he comes to he hears the lekku headed slave rebel leader call out about the droids found in the blandly colored crates.

It doesn't take F3-3T long to recognize that most are about as useful as Bantha manure on an asteroid but then he stumbles upon the dissembled medical droid and his circuits near fry from excitement. F3-3T pays little attention to the rest of the group frantically looking for a full set of the droids parts, he swears this model is the same as the very medical droid he fell in circuit symmetry with upon a rebel frigate. If it was possible she would be worth her weight in gold to the rebellion in service and possible information that could aid F3-3T in his quest for "love".

It doesn't take long to collect all necessary parts of the 2-1B droid, a general medicine droid suited to a variety of work. You don't have time to assemble it, but gathering all the parts together in an empty crate isn't so hard.

The enemy droid, currently smoking and immobile, hadn't had the chance to completely seal the cracks in the wall. Pushing through is only a matter of effort, although you don't get done in time for the ASPs to get back with the next collection of confiscated supplies. They begin piling the crates onto the barricade, reinforcing it. This was apparently the last instruction they received and are continuing. You shout at them to stop, then redirect them to put the supplies back on board your ship. They comply with a toneless 'affirmative,' as if contradictory instructions are of no interest to them.

Victor looks the ship up and down. It doesn't look like the little astromech came on board the ship at all, and did not damage the boarding aperture. You are safe to continue.

Red Leader contacts you over the commlink. "Been awhile, Beta Team. Are you almost finished? We have no idea how long it will be until the Empire gets here!"

"Roger that Red Leader. We're loading the loot up right now. just give us a little longer to see if we can track down any special cargo they're hiding." With Jess and Victor having dealt with the astromech that was presumably the ship's engineer droid, Seku helps correct the orders given to the ASP droids before heading back to the weapons cargo pod. As she turns to leave, she shouts back to Jess: "I think the droids will be able to handle things from here. They just got sabotaged a little by that astromech. Come help me find some of this cargo that isn't showing up on the register. I'll bet anything that's the really good stuff." She ushers Wrarcore along with her, making sure not to let the Gotal out of her sight.

Seku will help with a group Perception check to find the secret cargo. She can give 3 Cunning to the base pool, or a bonus die if we've got a better skill combo.

F3-3T also manages to use his Hutt designed cunning program to sort through the crates using high level math and devious ingenuity of Trandoshan hunters and high level Imperial quarter-masters. He quickly finds what they are looking for and and unfortunately opening a few packages in the crates which may or may not expose the carbon based oxygen breathing sentient beings to toxic air-borne substances. F3-3T accidentally triggers an upheaval in the floor he is standing on. The panels begin to separate, releasing a cloud of steam. He is knocked off his wheels by the moving ground, and the rest of you are temporarily blinded.

Out of the floor panels rises a frame of metal and transparasteel the size of a small room. Inside is a small platform on which rests four missile warheads. Beside it is a single large munitions crate.

Meanwhile, Jess is near the ship, helping the droids load cargo. She hears something down the hall, towards the bridge. She listens and hears the sound of many rapid footsteps coming closer.

The special warheads are inside a transparasteel cage the size of a small room. It is not immediately evident how to get them out. The cargo pod is packed with conventional munitions, safely stored in crates. A cunning agent, or a lucky one, might find some grenades or mines.

The ASPs are not programmed for combat and not imaginative enough to figure it out on their own. "Negative," they reply in response to F3-3T's command. Instead, they put down their burdens and move aside. They stand near the wall, patiently watching the action play out.

Jess and Seku take cover from the oncoming enemies. Jess fires her weapon, creating an obstruction for anyone trying to enter the docking bay.

Victor can be wherever he wants.

The 6 espos lead the charge, their tread heavy due to their riot armour and large guns. They stomp around the bend and nearly run into the cordon of sabotaged electrical wiring. They pause in the hallway, framed in the doorway.

Behind them is Captain Valis Landal. She is a human woman wearing a greatcoat and a bandolier, like an old-fashioned pirate. Her hair is swept up and back by a purple bandanna. She is holding a blaster pistol in one hand and a vibrosword in the other. She glances at the sparking wires and the Rebel boarding party.

"Form a staged firing line," she orders. The front two drop to one knee, allowing two more to aim over their heads. Though most of the Espos can fire now, they have no cover for the moment. Meanwhile, Landal aims upward at the sparking wires.

First combat round.

F3-3T is programmed to panic at times, or it would seem the bug inside him causes him to act out of order of operations. Seeing that they are again outnumbered the astromech droid tries to send his minions to battle which they refuse to do. Sullen F3-3T commands them to create a wall between the attackers and his team just in front of the munitions crate. "Zeeto! Bing Zeeto! [Private to group Droidspeak: Form a line at point A. each of you power down to sleep mode until further activated by your savior and commander in arms F3-3T, we must conserve power!].

He tries not to snicker by fooling the droids into forming a load lifting suit of armor versus incoming blaster fire. "EEEEEOOW", F3-3T exclaims as he makes a mad scramble trying to locate loose grenades among the crates of unsealed munition.

The little droids begin to form a haphazard firing blockade, although one of them seems not to listen to F3-3T's instructions and tries to help F3-3T to absolute no avail search through the crates for explosives. The little droid is moving so fast F3-3T can't keep up before he can shout out in dismay he realizes the little droid is pushing the searched through behind his brethren creating a thicker wall.
