in the center is a star, around that star is a ring that circles that star. that ring is 96.92 million miles in radius from that star. the ring is rotating to simulate the effect of gravity at approx 1 earth gravity

taking 1 of the 204,512,000 1 mile cross section of the plane (from the perspective of "down" as felt by "gravity")

1 mile cross section:
the cross section is 80,000 miles wide and 50 miles thick

moving from the center moving left along the walking surface is is separated into 3 zones(the right mirrors the left)
  1. this zone contains 40 cubic miles of saltwater
    • the depth is a 500 ft though the steepness of the shore line varies greatly
    • the river is only 40 miles across
    • the middle of the river (20 miles from shore) serves as the reflection axis for the other side

  2. this zone contains a total of 300 square miles of forested and prairie land
    • this zone goes from sea level to 10,000 ft above sea level and is broken
    • on the other side is another 300 miles

  3. this zone is roughly 39,700 square mile of stretching to the planes edge
    • this goes from 10,000 ft above sea level and ends at 250 miles above sea level
    • this is mostly exposed rock, but some small low growing tough vegetation grow here

PC will be arriving from all campaign settings.

the world the PCs are walking into is very earth like. there is no native magic creatures. there is a trait that the plane has that saps energies from all matter. there are ways to overcome the magic sapping but doing so requires practice and experience.

the surface is enormous.

those that have a grasp of physics,
the plane is a ring cross-section of a Dyson sphere 96.92 million miles in radius. the ring is 440,000 miles across and is 500 miles thick. the ring is orbiting around a star at a equivalent of 1 earth gravity. due to the interior curve of the plane the edge is 250 miles higher than the sea level there is the earth typical air density decrease as altitude increases

there is an enormous "ocean" river that is bordered by 20,000 miles of forest and prairie land on each side of the Great River Sea. bordering the forested lands, extending to the edge of the plane, is 200,000 miles of sporadic vegetation on bare rock.

a new plane has been discovered.

something about the plane is artificial.

some THING on the plane is draining power in all forms.
(that means magic and psionic)

the world is beginning very survival based.

IE: there is no bread because there is no farm to grow wheat.

I need a lot of PCs

this is also a social experiment, so setting up organizations at the pc level.
these organizations will produce and manage the goods need to survive.
