In reply to Shkigragexlyktgheden (msg # 3):

desalination of the soil plan: works by the established rules of chemistry, so that works. no need for a go ahead from me

farming by putting down a brick layer: once again chemistry defines the permeability of a substance, so all things logically work there too.

building the cistern is just a matter of gathering the materials and doing it. so once again you dont need my input beyond the amount of labor based upon its size.

this game is very logic based and it will be faster to just start trying to do something. if it comes up i will tell you WHY you have not succeeded YET

Hi everyone.

Waiting for confirmation on my gear, but my shifter druid character is on his way to the portal. He has been amassing some new beasts of burden to bring over, along with skills and equipment for sustainable lumbering, as well as clean dirt to speed up the farming enterprise. I should have a herd of animals that can provide wool and milk too.

Aside from a lumberjack, Greenclaw is a qualified healer, leatherworker, herbalist, tanner and weaponsmith (mostly experienced in simple weapons though).

I will hang out mostly in the forested areas, roving about with my heard.

I am working on making nice maps for this, but I don't think anyone has any cartography skills... But I could be wrong... Might help shape out the world a little more concretely.

Tracking/spot/listen will be nice for sure.

Oh, and welcome to the new world...

I can help with the actual map making. But I think it would be better if one of the characters has the skill before we can picture the new world that accurately.

Well I had planned to take craft (bowmaking) so that I could provide arrows however if someone else has that I could take craft (mapmaking).

I'm using Scout from Complete Adventurer.

Okay I split my craft ranks up

So I'll have 2 ranks in bowmaking, 1 rank in cartographer and 1 rank in tanner.
I won't be the best but I can help and they seem appropriate to a scout.

I have a huge list of equipment that is almost done. Plus maybe a flock of sheep :) and some chickens just in case hunting doesn't work out :) (and dogs to guard them).

I'm just trying to make sure I've not forgotten anything on my list.

In reply to Greenclaw (msg # 17):

the ring shape nature of the plane is apparent if you look east ans west, because the land curves up disappearing into the distance. as far as the measurements they are based upon Zarzar's mathematical calculations.

the edge is visible because of the curve of the ring and it is an abrupt edge, but no pc ventured far from the portal so there is a lot of un-validated theory, and mathematical conjecture.

2 questions regarding the tourist guide thread:

quote:
over 500 million fish-able fresh water rivers

Have we found out where those are yet?

quote:
wild game animals

Is this referring only to the saltwater buffaloes or have we discovered other game?

Not trying to meta, so I want to know the extend of what we collectively know as of now.

Thanks.

no you have not found any of those rivers, also river is a broad terms ranging from a creek you can step across, to the mighty Mississippi.

the buffalo are one of the game species, yes there are others.

Re: ooc

historyian:
A night before that a witch/summoner could love (not my work, but gleefully copied from somewhere on the internet):

'Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the town,
Hell was breaking loose;
Things were falling down!

The weapons were hung
In the hallway with care;
In hopes that their wielders
Soon would be there.

The children lay trembling,
Entrapped in their beds;
While nightmarish visions
Raced through their heads.

And Mama with a ruckus,
And I with a rattle;
Had just donned our armor
For a long winter's battle.

When out in the street,
There arose such a clatter;
We sprang from our house
To see what was the matter.

Away to the fountain
We flew like the lightning;
Treading with caution;
For it was very frightening.

The splatter of blood on the fresh fallen snow
Gave a gory effect to the objects below;
When, what to our terrified eyes should appear;
But a towering devil, who filled us with fear!

His rod was so great, but his staff was still greater;
So we knew all at once that it must be Dispater.
More vicious than wolves his minions drew near,
And he smiled, and smirked, and snarled with a sneer:

"Now, Slasher! Now, Slicer! Now Smasher and Shaker!
On, Crasher! On, Crusher! On, Basher and Breaker!
Tear down the houses; break down the walls!
And smash away, crash away, 'til everything falls!"

As rabbits before the fierce predators scatter,
When they met with an obstacle, they'd cause it to shatter.
So back to our house, we decided to go,
With the army of devils and Dispater in tow.

And then with a shrieking,
We heard in the square;
The stamping of hooves
Of a fiendish nightmare.

As we drew forth our blades,
And were preparing to fight;
Suddenly Dispater
Emerged from the night.

He was dressed in all black,
From his head to his toe;
Which sharply contrasted
With the white of the snow.

A powerful mace
Was clenched in his fist;
And he stepped like a warrior
From out of the mist.

His eyes how they burned!
His countenance scary;
His skin was like iron;
He was no fairy.

His steellike jaw
was smooth and cleanshaven,
And his long flowing hair
was as black as a raven.

The shaft of a spear
he held tight in his grasp,
And his billowing cape
was clutched with a clasp.

He had a gaunt face,
And fists made of steel;
I wished this a dream;
But it was all too real.

He was fearsome and stern,
A formidable foe;
And we shook when we saw him,
For we had no place to go.

A glint in his eye,
Instilled us with dread;
And made it quite clear
That we soon would be dead.

He spoke not a word,
But went straight to his work;
And engaged us in combat,
With nary a quirk.

I and my wife,
We fought hard and long;
But it cost us our life,
For he was just too strong.

He stood over our corpses,
Proud of his win,
And he left us there dying,
Wearing a grin.

But I heard him proclaim,
Ere the light left my eye;
"Merry Christmas to all;
and now you shall die."

Merry Christmas, fellow players!

Yeah the name was a joke somewhat with a friend of mine. He was going to play a Bardbarian named Saxon Steel, patron saint of rock, who used a axe similar to that of Eddie Riggs from Brutal Legend. I was going to be his vocalist and since I was going to be a wizard Christopher Lee seemed like the perfect fit. Dude has great pipes and his album was pretty metal.

Re: ooc

Slashing through the orcs
With a good two-handed blade
Over corpses we go
And through the gore we wade
Mace on helmet rings
Making bodies fly
What fun to sing our SLAYING song
And watch these suckers die!
Chorus:
Oh, ring their bells with swords and spells
Don't let 'em get away!
We're brave and bold for fame and gold
We'll make a lot today!
Oh, ring their bells with swords and spells
Don't let 'em get away!
We'll hack and slash and blast and trash
And blow these dudes away!
Crashing through the door
Into the dragon's nose
Our mage whips out a Cone of Cold
And out its fire goes!
Elven bowstrings sing
Making balrogs fall
And our thief finds a secret door
Into the treasure hall!
(Chorus)
Then appears the lich
With his demon guard
Our wizard yawns and wishes
We'd run into something HARD...
He begins to cast
His 19th level spell
That damn Lich throws a Gate at us
And drops us all in Hell!
(Chorus)
We appear in Hell
In front of Satan's Throne
Our cleric waves us out the door
And takes him on alone!
Satan's legions don't
Want to let us go
Our Techno pulls a bazooka out
And NUKES 'em 'til they GLOW!
Oh, ring their bells with prayers and spells
Don't let 'em get away!
We're brave and bold and CRAZED, we're told
To think we'll live the day!
Oh, ring their bells with swords and shells
Don't let 'em get away!
We'll hack and slash and blast and trash
And blow these dudes away!
Yes, we'll hack and slash and blast and trash
And drag our loot away!!!

Company thread?

Green claw I think the thread you are looking for is the guild services.

That is where you post the quests you have and the reward you you give for completion

It is also your "store front"

That thread is the market place and job board.
Because every guild is only allowed a single post on that thread it is easy for fellow players to buy and sell their goods and find work.

Simply put start producing goods or services in exchange for money or barter

After giving me notice you wish to do so

You will be expected to keep your single post updated in the Guild services thread

You will get a single private thread to do your research and skill rolls

yes the water is magnetic south of you. But as no one brought a compass, it could be a kidney bean.

the red line is the path that the salt watter buffalo took prior to the portal beginning to close.

I would give those that did the work a bit of slack, they were told to do so by another PC. You were also given 3 in game days warning that it was going to happen.

What and they didn't notice that there was a small caravan of wagons there examining the shipyard, or did they just not care and turn us loose anyway? Sorry not giving them much slack. But there is the chance I never find them again in their favor...

I see no point in continuing. I'm given no chance to stop actions that lead to mine and others deaths, others willinging do these acts without any qualms of what happens to others.

No point in playing in such a game, just remove me.

Work 12 hours and then come back to find you lost even more time to the point there is no way to save yourself, it just shows I'm not meant to have any chance. Why I'm even in a thread with people other than Alex and Eric is just even more bothersome since they keep moving the rate after setting events to lead to my death. No wonder so many have come and gone from this game.

When you found an organization on this plane and conscript other PCs to work for you your guild rank goes up.

As a guild leader you would be responsible for issuing quests and quest rewards.

IE: do job A and recieve amount B from my personal treasury.also I think you did a great servise to me take amount X of my xp as a bonus to what you have already earned.

   I could see that.. though Creature; considers the use of metal moneys to be reserved for those of Gentle or Noble birth; else copper.  Most settlements in the Landson Baroney issue their own "printed (chop)" in-kind based money.  A settlements local ancestral temple stores the product listed on the face in bins and magazines amoung the graves of the ancesters.. where it will be safe.
   Counterfiting is a religious crime punishable by a curse binding the criminal to serve the ancesters [as zombies and skeletons]
   As the living are so impatient, they usually don't wait for the criminal to die a natural death they call on the Rat-catchers to fix the rat.
;^) just saying.

   This would be noticable as other then paying tax to the Council. he would rather be paying his troopers Product Script for items they could use or trade amoung other 'good-and lesser [socially] folk.
  Unless or multi-planer master disagrees I'll just leave this here as something you will have picked up from Creatures unlisted side comments.

Exactly how does one get ones Cohort, and three followers. Then get the Cohort's; cohort and followers.  Oddly it may seem like the three trainees could fit as my Cohorts, personel?

P.S. I need to try "military sketching" this out to see if it passes muster with our GM.  but as it is mostly text based rather then image based.. and fits my skills I think it should work.

Dc 5 check
Failure means you were reeding wood in to fast.
Must shut steam engine that is turning the blade.
A number of dc 20 strength checks equal to the amount you failed the dc 5 check

Rolling a 1 means that the blade is bound in place
Roll on malfunction chart for the engine.
The wood still on the blade is lost/destroyed (must be removed some how...fire...etc)

RedWood 6 hp per in hardness 5

The blade is cutting a 1 inch cut

Hp per translation (house rule)
5 ft x 5 ft x 1 inch

So at average 12 per round after hardness

5 ft rd means

30,060 linear feet of 2.5 ft deep cuts

how you use that to break down the logs is your choice.

ava' and heinz i suggest you find a way to solve your issues. before I step in. because if i do neither of you will like it.

ava' take note that heinz has a long track record as a team player and that fact will play heavily if i have to step in.

heinz take note that Ava' currently controls what remains of the assets left behind by zarzar.

heinz also take note that you are currently getting more rain across the surface of your watering pond then you are through the pipes. the water you are getting through the pipes is 1% of 1% of what you are getting across the surface of the 2 mile x 5 mile man made lake.

the rain falling on you lake is giving you 695,149,714.3 gallons per rain cycle
the water you are getting from the pipes is 673,246.8 gallons

seeing as you only require
quote:
total = 126,854.137185 gallons of water

you do the math

solve your issues or some people will be leaving against thier will.

All you notes make sense.

The void cards by them selves are player killers.

Well not kill but it takes a wish to discover the location your mind is located( wish has to be made by someone else)

As I would have found the cards in Ava's shop (suitable place as otherwise they would have had to pop into my hands) and Ava would have already mentioned the need for oil, Could I have uses the wish mistakenly used on the Ruin card (as it hadnt been drawn and I wouldn't have known about it), could I have used it to make this wish "I wish for a magical Barrel that is ever filling with oil for Ava's personal survival" (may not create enoughbut could help and if she passes, would be enough for the town - selfless act)

This means the Int increase and 2x "Next hostile creature killed" cards wouldn't be drawn.

Now all I need is a plane traveller and/or a 'wish' caster to find out and retrieve my mind.

Re: Trick or treat

thank you for the offer of the barrel

but it would stand to reason that a well worded wish could prevent you from drawing the void card. but said wish would have to be worded in such a way that you are wishing from a position where you don't even know the void card exists. you would have to be creative.

but concerning the wish it all depends if the gm has put your wishes into effect.

Comet
Destroy the next hostile creature to level up
Void blocked by the fates card (drawn before this one was drawn)
Ballance
From CG to LE
Rogue
One of you friends begins to hate you
Ruin
All non magical objects (and property) owned by you are destroyed.

Jester
you draw the fates which I am applying to the void card

the fate card is the power of "NO" that has power beyond that of wish

as in "NO that void card was a forgery and had no magic"

the second card is the vizier
Vizier:
This card empowers the character drawing it with the one-time ability to call upon a source of wisdom to solve any single problem or answer fully any question upon her request. The query or request must be made within one year. Whether the information gained can be successfully acted upon is another question entirely.

Moon
  1. I wish for my Magic to not be negatively affected by this planes Magic nullifying effect.
  2. "I wish for a magical Barrel that is ever filling with oil for Ava's personal survival"

Star
Wis from 12 to 14

Re: Dread Wraith

massive projects have been presented to me with plans that include
  • expected materials needed
  • where the supply of materials is coming from
  • required laborers (broken down by job specialty)

if you all can come up with COMPLETE plans i am willing to move the timeline ahead a great deal.

some assumptions were made on the part of gex and heinz

  • walling off the portal
    300 days:
    533 separate raisable (10 ft x 30 ft x 3 inch) iron plates will serve as walls/gates. towers every 30 ft will serve as cranes to lift/drop wall sections and will also serve as guard towers should they need to be manned against a hostile force. all metal surfaces painted to repel corrosion and ordinary environmental hazards. the walls built on/into stone foundation

    involved parties
    • mattew
      • iron supply
      • paint and weather proof
      • stone foundation
    • ava
      • plans
      • laborers
  • roads
    300(ish) days:
    10 ft wide roads network for growing town. running water through gutters for waste removal.

    involved parties
    • mattew
        can not run concurrent with portal wall because of stone and metal requirement
      • stone roads
      • streetlights
    • ava
      • plans
      • laborers
      • water pumping
      • waste collection/disposal facility
  • town
    less than ...:
    arrival and settling of full town with guilds and operating government.

    involved parties
    • heinz
      • lumber supply
    • ava's followers
      • metal fasteners and fixtures
      • furniture
  • portal power source
    1 96 hours:
    a means to power the portal and means to know how much more power is needed to open the portal.

    involved parties
    • matthew
      • crafting
      • spells
      • materials
  • fishing fleet
    quote:
    fishing industry

    involved parties
    • ava's followers
      • metal fasteners and fixtures
      • ship building
    • heinz lumber supply
  • expansion of gex's farm to accomidate demand
    less than ...:
    840 acres
  • carbon collection countermeasures
    less than ...(ongoing):
    routing all combustion based smokestacks through water bubbler to collect soot

in coming materials
  • 882000 lb iron per day Capacity
  • 607500 lb of iron converted to steel (limited to 500 lbs by carbon supply)

Bath house has existed sice before you showed up (10 private rooms with private bathing families for ever room)
mathew has rooms and bathing facilities for an aditional 20
When the town is built most homes will have some manner of bathing capability.

The mill is currently being run and maintained by 10 lvl 8 skilled laborers. (Ava' chain of command feats)

With the arrival will also bring the stocking of shops and stores allowing you all to head out on extended fores into the wilderness.

So the characters we are playing now wil become what...the main NPCs or the characters that we will go out and explore with.

Because frankly Mattew is built to be a home body, crafting and selling goods. If we move forward as suggested I would like to retire Matthew to patron, not player character. Well just as soon as that outsider shows up, so we can get this formality of a fight over with.

The bath house Talpac build was specifically just a bath house attached to the registration/Armsmen's Guild building with Tavern on other side. Would also be another location for dentistry and apothecary. Scented baths. Not a bunk house.

Somehow I think there will be more than 10 beds required.

The Mill is also being used to rewind my services and as part owner with Heinz, Talpac would like to still have some involvement.

Water Tower in Talpac's compound (if possible), look up Grand Designs magazine - TV HOUSE: THE WATER TOWER

Can incorporate a few rooms in main structure, to have apprentices, research space etc.

I'm no engineer nor mathematician irl but I do know all 3 towers can easily be made in 300 days with only a couple of people and equipment, with a few people and good equipment they could be done in a couple of weeks.

Stone, clay, metal etc. Use wood to hold clay and stone (cobblestone) in place to set.

To note, if no one has anything for Volux to do, he will spend most of his time in the year either in the forest, training, sleeping, or bugging/following Ava (Expect this one about 75% of his time).

edit:  Despite his demeanor he will do most work for little or no cost unless unusually tough labor or very very long hours (He really likes his naps), then he will want equal payment or make an unfair deal in his end (He will see it as a small compensation for all the free work, only mainly for the most unusual of labor/work/favors)

I am finally home and have been staying tuned,  I feel like we really need to make sure ooc things are also stated more often and clearly made defined as OCC (example the color red that is already used for it), just to keep things even on player knowledge.  I know players won't know everything going on, and even more so characters, I definitely agree with the statement made by you here Ressic.  I also feel things such as what Ava did as far as the walls and things like that would definitely go by noticed especially in such a place that is so visible to so many characters and npcs.  So things like that should be stated as such or rumored about or placed in this thread or one specific for things that go along with it.  Rather than a bombshell that example Ava made huge walls n such that stretch miles very close to the new city being built that so many frequent.  Especially more so when players follow to the shop.  I feel we are just lacking the out of character communication if I may put my input in.

Re: we do not live in the 20th century

Okay.. I'm going to see if I can figure out this less on my own this time.  does anyone one have a general idea how long in game days I've been gone.
   One possibility I have been thinking about to back story is The master-sergeants unit leaving except for the person left running the arms-guild registry.
   While out on what was meant to be a moderate lengthed recon mission [it was meant to practice, rope measure, and using the "chinese measure of medicine] have his nomad troopers roll to find plants they would be afraid to feed to the animals[poison]], Creature got hit by his "curse" again an this time lost consciousness.  His people know his problem .  in a week he physically came back, mentally longer.  During this time fouling up by the numbers they got lost and turned around, and properly mis recorded it.  The issue during this time would be Creature would be little more then a possessive [Drakonic] guardbeast until he returned mentally. So they got quite embarrassingly lost and came back with totally useless distance recon data but a massive haul of dried and fresh herbs, forbs, and grasses, of dangerous [for sale as testing specimens] or useful to barbarian nomad nature[my troopers habits].  I am literally considering Creature and his team showing back up now after finding his way to some place currently "colonized"
   Another would be easier on on Creatures reputation would be the same thing happening in stages, creating a situation where Creature was unable to get much done except report.. errr.. remember he is quite properly horrified that there is no "thieves guild", and assassin enforcement arm to keep over enthusiastic predator in check. so suspicions would be passed on allowing for the refugees to prepare enough to escape one would hope at a minimum.  but not allowing Creature much in the way of productive.
   Due to Creatures lack of 3.-3.5 living experience I know what he doesn't that he needs a specific set of training areas.  which he was going to create in the built barracks but might have gotten side lined if he was worried about possible permanency and kept getting knocked out by transition pains, and temp amnesia.

Or who knows maybe some combination of the above, or something else, sigh; roleplay is god even in strategy games.

I need to know if I am missing something that makes these unworkable, and of course any of these will require the okay of the Caretaker.

Talpac (and I) were assuming you were around and then searching for herbs and plants as requested on Talpac's Alchemy Guild board.

Talpac has been returning to Portaltown to help Ressic periodically and the rest of the time, helping design and build New Home (or Newhome however it is going to be written).

It was Talpacs understanding that Creature and his men would continue to be the militia for the town (now a city) when he returned (which doesn't have to have been the full 600 days as they were sped through and still being finalised.

Concerning the population. There is over 30,000 in Ava's compound but the concentration of wealth and technology allows for availability a sum wealth of the city of 100,000 of any one shopping trip (not including Ava' personally)

While the population of second city is closer to 3,000,000 with a available marketable goods of around 15,000 gp.

Due to the rampant poverty many families have begun to source thier meat at mathhew's tavern. Many have asked how he provides all the meat but no one knows for certain, and starving people don't care much when it it cooked food.

Accompanying the poverty has been more then a few outbreaks of disease, causing the local spiritually minds to form a church/hospital that has un officially backed a currency of sorts. That currency being potions and scrolls of healing.

the feat is in the message #1 in the house rules thread

leadership feat grants ... apprentices
tyrant feat grants ... slaves
undead leadership grants ... intelligent undead
thrallherd class grants ... the ability to use dominate spell on a large scale

no feat out there allows you to "hire" your neighbor to move in next door.

yes XP would have been earned...but i am waiting on answers to questions
quote:
height of the south side of the city 76.5 ft above sea level raised 20 ft in the air on stilts
quote:
meaning the buildings on the south side of the city are not on the ground. how are these buildings serviced by roads

quote:
the north side of thew city is 51 ft higher then the raised south end of the city
quote:
the pumping of sewage was mentioned, but i never saw a list of raw materials used per pump and any craft checks. and since it did not happen in the month of jan it has not happened yet.i pump is needed per square mile for sewage
one pump is needed per water tower

quote:
the altitude goes up 60 ft between the stated north side of the city and the south side of amber's farm.
pumps for drinking water
pumps for sewage
once again no list of materials and where they were sourced
and no accompanying craft checks in the month of jan...so it has not happened yet.

quote:
altitude changes 333 ft from the south side of amber's farm to the north side of the farm

quote:
a gravity fed tank for sewage was stated would feed a leach field through out amber's farm and it was stated to be under the city so does that now mean that your city is
444 feet above previously stated level of the city

600 days "but we brought back food"
summer wheat is harvestable in 90 days (earth time)
so once i get an explanation on how you plowed 575 square miles without a plow (zarzar plowed it last time)
i will start the clock of
  • 2160 ingame hours before any wheat can go east
  • 1200 ingame hours for carrots
  • 1680 ingame hours for potatoes

the only food you COULD HAVE provided eastbound is meat, a commodity that Matthew's servants provide already cooked at 3 copper/lb. so given a choice between a known necromancer who was martyred by Ava', and "cowards" who abandoned them because the "cowards" did not want to invest in building a city for them.

Not being city designers or architects in real life, the information you are requesting becomes superfluous to us and a sticking point that needn't be put in place.

Talpac could have made any number of plowshears for use on the farm and the megalipods would have been able to plow the fields with ease by attaching behind them, again, superfluous (and could have been asked early doors).

If I went to a scrib and asked them to write my words, that is hiring them to do the work but you are making this impossible. Why would they move? In your own words, poverty, disease, lets just say a better life so why wouldnt they want to move?

Too many obstacles that would not happen.

Due to Creatures somewhat oriental up bringing I am assuming he assumes powerful medicines are simple well regulated poisons.

Any other possibilities are simply an honorable willingness to take lumps coming for the character's player dumping decisions on the GM by not being there.

paying some one to do a single job has no connection to if a person moves.

it is more likely that the person would charge you extra for the "inconvenience" of traveling to where you are.

Getting someone to move! You clearly stated how aweful the living conditions are, you said over incentive, that was clearly done many times.

I shall leave Talpac to be a background NPC and leave you to your game.

With the new threads for the travel to and from locations I need to know where every one is so at the top of your messages in the subject line please indicate your current location when you post.

This is to reduce confusion, for example Amber who's last post stated was at market. Puts her near portal town, so logic would follow that she would not be able to carry on a conversation with someone in or near her home in newtown

While it is not a requirement yet, I stated last year that all players would soon be restricted to a single playable character, reducing all secondary characters to player controlled npc which are not interaction characters

This will be be in effect on the first of march so start thinking about who is going to be your character of choice.

Also when this goes into effect I will remove the inactive/duplicate characters.

Well, the person Volux is, thugs like this leave a heavily bad taste his mouth, despite being an assassin for hire type.  While showing his intent to kill now considering the choices made by George, I probably will try my absolute best not to unless lead into that situation.  Assassins lead by trying for the killing blows first (obviously since called shots aren't a thing aside from a feat and my lack of death attack I will do all my best decisions so he won't die) I am just waiting on his actions next and confirmation for hit.  My way I'd kill all of the black hand, take my money and walk away with George knocked out on the street.

Oddly enough Creature is quiet honest about lack of pride.  He would have no problem with the existence of a Shadow police force run by thieves and enforced by assassins.  To him they dishonor their guild by operating openly. they dishonor the City by fighting the council directly.
   From "Home" He is both a illegitimate son of nobility on both sides, and a professional street thug belonging to the assassins guild.  And he "treasured" both equally.

Volux, was raised to assassinate and take everything and gloat it to all the rest of his kind like most of his kind.  To follow the heads of the others, to lead everything in ruin and show off all your things and to do the things those who took above me wanted.  Killing governments, shop keeps, working in assassin guilds, thief guilds, all of it and more.  He only rights his own will above those of others but will see the value in other's lives and what they do with theirs.  He finds common street thugs disgusting gutter trash of life only worthy enough to be my raw meal.  He'd be more appealing to the actual council as a person who'd hire them, but wouldn't be under their thumb as George just gave up so willingly.  I'd be more likely to kill their lower ranks in my way while working for them unless paid not to.

Damn, I wouldn't say I've wrote anything too secretive into my character's background, story, or personality.  Though for his alignment, is a lot 'nicer' than what most would suspect.  He see's everyone in a fair light generally, he will act reasonably most of the time as well, though he won't care if he breaks the law or not.  He only cares about what his actions may in return do to him, he is aware that he is part of a Jacob's Ladder, so to speak.

as Talpac discovered, if you acquire the planer trait "native" the plane stops messing with you.

that is the main reason why I was such a thorn in Ava's side. she did not, and tracking still does not have the trait. while I have the trait, talpac gained his from a wish granted during the deck of many things fiasco.

if Katrin is a Monk, as i suspect she is; she will gain it as part of her level progression at lvl 20.

does my answer help? or does it further confuse the question?

Re: gang fight

The caster level is equal to your class level of the class that provides the spell. In the event that a class feature, domain granted power, or other special ability provides an adjustment to your caster level, that adjustment applies not only to effects based on caster level (such as range, duration, and damage dealt) but also to your caster level check to overcome your target’s spell resistance and to the caster level used in dispel checks (both the dispel check and the DC of the check).

So it is possible to have two different classes that provide spells and be different caster levels for them both.  That is why people don't like to multiclass different spell classes but ones that level two, like the noctumancer in example, combining the shadowcaster class you take levels in and an arcane casting class you took levels in.

You might want to rethink that as for a bit their we actually were a party.  you did mean to win a bet and did so whether you get the money or not, you succeeded.  the question is would you get xp for that win.

I am experimenting with the request for XP to see how what arguments work best.. but we well see.

Hi

I am still caught by much surprise, how much of the original players dissappeared or left. This is such a vast and open world, one of the most sandbox games I've ever been in.  If I was more confident I'd been able to do more with that sandbox I would be happy to break my more of a small shell. I didn't quite bring much of a game changing character aboard, more of someone based off of interactions Npc or player driven. Until I have a bit more experience under my character's belt I don't think I'll be too comfortable going out in the world guns a blazing. My character himself knows he isn't the bee's knees in this tough realm.

Fair enough. I was looking forward to utilising the spells that would control them as well as being able to do some basic. It seems complicated though, which is why I've hadn't taken it up.

Yeah, it's only just starting to become remotely relevant. Complete paradigm shift but with aspect connections since Talpac uses small constructs and his gods of science and knowledge showed these to the people of the Iron Kingdoms, just a lot bigger. (He'll be examining and controlling them with magic in no time, just not having them as part of a construct)

how do you pay mindless undead

Mindless undead don't need paying and wouldn't be followers or a cohort, they would be animated and commanded using magic, surely! (I may be wrong there).  Matthew didn't have 'mindless' undead.

I mentioned this pteviously and was told no, silly really as people (and undead) would want to be known to be working with you or feel you are inspirational. If you end up being unworthy, they'll leave naturally.

Talpac now has his apprentices though.

Fair enough. I do know how ever that as a necromancer class. You can have a looooooot of undead summoned and become a lich at level 20. I made one for another game and I have to say it was pretty fun while it lasted.

I'm just getting myself up and running. I had a character sheet of Volux for future levels and it ended up getting deleted so now I have to do it all over again, but I don't really feel like that. So I am going with the flow on what I'd like. I do plan to get a single cohort though.

my current thought is if the crew is un-dead i dont have to worry about food or atmosphere on a (nautical) (space mobile) and (limited flight) capable spell jammng ship

so that i would only have to provide those things for living passengers. that want passage to and from the known planes.

i am under the impression that a majority of you have been...for lack of a better word "trapped" on this plane with no way off

I have a 12TB data server that's full, and 3TB on my games drive.
A gamer is an understatement to be called.

Funny thing is I still haven't set up a twitch or live stream yet, maybe I should and try get some money in.

May be a good idea.  Do it, then you can save some things on YouTube as you see the money roll in (read as trickle if it helps lol)

I'm finding that with the CORVID-19 Self-Isolating thing that is going on, it is a time where this community can help each other out.

When we can't go out, at least we are here.

Be strong where you can, be kind always.

If there is a time where I don't post within a Day or so, please forgive me, it will be because of being knackered from my job.  I find that I am doing a lot more walking and working from home on occasion has me almost burning out a little, for a day or so.  A good sleep helps.

Not sure if this has died or not.

I've just started a new course of pain killers for RSI in my right shoulder, this has made me feel all woozy and woolly headed, so please bear with me whilst I try and get my head around what's going on in games.

Happy New Year 2023

D & D film pays homage to the Cartoon.
Really clever plot with interesting twist. The monsters look great (some comical) as does the scenery.
Well worth watching.
I will be watching it again.
