Tourney: Rd 1: Nineda v Lan-Mei
"Welcome to the Tournament!"

For the first round of the Tournament all of the fights would take place in The Circle, an open-air arena without walls.  Combatants are warned that the copper band which marks the edge of the arena also marks the location of a magical barrier which prevents exiting the arena during the match (and keeps out anything being thrown or shot from the stands).  The barrier rises 50 feet before arcing to create a dome over the arena approximately 75 feet above the ground.  Amphitheater seating allows the crowds to watch the action.  A pair of massive poles (10 feet wide) are placed across the arena from each other, connected by a long rope festooned with flags and advertisements.  The afternoon sun casts a shadow from the western pole across the center of the arena, but otherwise the arena is bathed in sunlight.

OOC:
Standard fight rules
3 prep rounds

In your posts, please include a private section to the GM, which lists your current stats (AC, hp, non-permanent bonuses to anything, spells or powers in effect, immunities, etc.).  This section can also include any pre-fight actions taken.  Once the pre-fight stuff is posted, I will roll to see if anything is dispelled upon entering the arena.  After that, you can each post your preps and roll for initiative.

A copy of the map is provided below.

As the audience awaits for the warriors to make their way to the arena they begin to hear a song coming from the south entrance. At first the words are hard to make out but as Lan-Mei exits the doors and makes her way to the starting position it is obvious that she is singing an ancient human battle hymn.

Finishing the song just as she reaches the starting position Lan-Mei smiles and waves to the crowd before turning to face her opponent.

Gracefully bowing to him as a show of respect Lan-Mei takes a strange battle stance as shadows begin to surround her form.

Nineda finds himself in a different arena this time, what seemed to be a giant spherical arena. He calmly gathers himself, taking a couple of moments to stretch, then lifting one leg, and another, crossing them mid air to come at rest a few feet above the ground, as if he were sitting on some magic carpet. He crosses his arms as well, and a translucent bubble forms around him, his third, crystalline eye opening in the center of his forehead.

"Let us begin." he says, his mouth not moving when he speaks, his voice instead fizzling in the air around him.

Starting Location: M2

15:08, Today: Nineda rolled 32 using 1d20+23.  Init Vs. Lan-Mei.

EDIT: Added init roll and colorized starting location.

OOC: Ok, everything looks good here, with preps and pre-fight actions, so Lan-Mei will just need to roll initiative and then the fight can begin.  I will generally not post anymore during the match, unless there is an issue that one of you requests a ruling on.  So, have fun!

OOC Howdy Lan-Mei, someone brought up an interesting point about Time Stands Still in the rules discussion- it grants you two full attack actions, not two full rounds. Want to give you a chance to update/edit if you like before I put in my post.

OOC: Okay, sorry, I need to know a couple of things before I proceed. Currently, Nineda has Greater Arcane Sight Active: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spel...caneSightGreater.htm
I'd like for you to please list the information this would reveal.

Also, what type of attack is this? Does Lan Mei have ghost touch/any other active ability that modifies attacks or damage type? What damage type is it that I'm up against?

Sorry to have so many questions, but it may affect the outcome of Lan-Mei's strikes and I wanna be sure I do the math right.

Alright I am going to break this down into two parts the first part is what is revealed in character the the second is out of character so that you can do any math that is needed.

IC: The spell reveals nothing.

Lan-Mei's barrage of attacks all ding and bounce off of the telekinetic sphere that her meditative opponent surrounded himself in during the opening rounds. Nineda tilts his head as she attacks the translucent bubble, observing with an almost kitten-like level of curiosity.

"So that looks like it took a lot of effort. A couple of those may have actually landed were it not for the barrier, you know." Nineda's lips don't move, but the utterance emanates from his form instead.

The spherical barrier then flings itself up into the air and out of range of this strange anthropomorphic squirrel-person-thing's reach.

Schism Standard: Move Telekinetic Sphere 30' upwards. Same Square.

"Let's see what you've got for ranged attacks, hmm? Maybe you'll have better luck there." The figure of this odd-looking man leans over, looking down at his opponent from the distance, then the sphere clouds over, making itself opaque.

Standard: ???
