Character Design

Rules
Will be using GURPS 4 edition for this campaign

Design
• 100-400 points with upto 50% Disadvantages.
• No Permanent Mental or Physical Incapacitating Disadvantages.
• Characters will be starting in Portsmouth and with a TL3.
• Where the characters go and how they interact with the locals is their own choice. Do bear in mind actions may promote reactions.

Limitations
• Standard template's Attributes can not be advanced by more than 50% the lowest Attribute each character has.
E.g. A Character with ST,DX,IQ and HT of 10 can increase any of these Attributes to 15

Racial templates are also limited in the same manner. Eg a Template which has Attributes of ST 18, DX 6, IQ 8 and HT 25. Can only increase their ST, IQ and HT by at most 3 points, due to the low DX.

• Advantages that enhance any skills are also limited to 50% the Attribute they effect. EG an IQ 12 Mage character can purchase up to Magery 6
• The highest two Status levels are reserved for NPC's
• Martial arts are broadly classified as either Hard (Karate) Known only by Dwarfs, or Soft (Judo) Known by Elves, these classifications apply to any techniques associated with these styles.
• Each Level of Magery allows a Caster to learn spells from One Magical College, This is decided at Character creation. Casters may learn no more than 20 + their IQ of prerequisite spells.
• It is possible for characters without Magery to acquire a limited spell like capacity and learn/know a max of 20 + their Intelligence  Spells
• Racial templates are taken from Basic, Banestorm and Dragon Fantasy; any identified disparity between similar templates are carried over and higher valued multiple is applied.
• Any character who has a natural flight ability acquires the Disadvantage of having a Crippled Wing
• No Character Starts with a More than 30 points in wealth Advantages.

TL
• Third World Nations TL2 unless otherwise stated.
• Second World Nations TL3 unless otherwise stated.
• First World Races are TL4 unless otherwise stated.

Coinage in the United Kingdom of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales 
Copper Coins = Penny = $1
Silver Coins = Shilling = 20 Pennies
Gold Coins = Pound = 20 Shillings = 400 Pennies
1 Pound Sterling = 22 Shillings = 440 Pennies

Character Advancement
• Will limit Character Attribute improvement to One per instance.
Skills
The CP's used in Character development reflect the individuals proficiency and standing amongst their Peers.
