Re: Welcome wagon

Oops. I was looking in Low Tech.

Along those lines, if we have the starting cash, can we buy items we ourselves are capable of making? Can we buy magic items we ourselves are capable of making? Can anyone buy magic items?

I'd say give them the day, if they don't respond then drop them, I mean, 17 mins is a short notice, I say this knowing you gave a specific date of completion before now, but still.

It's 6am where I live, if not for me staying up all night I would have missed the post.

Re: Welcome wagon

I am still here. I have been working on my character. I'm down to spending small money.

However, I did indicate that weekends were full for me. I got little time at home on Saturday and next to nothing on Sunday. It's a weekday, so I can finish it up.

I know you're eager to start, but is not posting over a weekend going to slow this game down a lot?

Re: Welcome wagon

Thank you all for that information, I'll adjust subsequent timings allowing 48 hours. b1 & j1 will you be able to complete your characters by then.

Re: Welcome wagon

I'm on the east coast US time zone.  Will be available most weekends although this coming weekend I may be entirely gone (attending a wedding in rural Italy, not sure what the situation will be in terms of internet access).

Barrack, are you considered a local in Portsmouth? Or are you just in town on business?

I'm still waiting on this answer. It makes a huge difference because either I'm spending some CP on Wealth to represent what Xiu-Xiu has done over the past years or I'm not. That leaves me stuck on finishing the last part of CP expenditure and on purchases. Thanks.

Jing - for what it's worth, I went with Basic as-written for money.  I assumed access to all of starting wealth due to Garviaual being a wanderer and the character seemed to pass muster.

Re: Welcome wagon

Yes, but my question has more to do with that note in Basic that essentially says ask the GM what's available. Xiu-Xiu can enchant things and has plenty of time before game start (for instance, no problem with being 10 years old) to enchant things. I would expect I have to buy them with starting cash. But can I buy those enchantments? If I can, I can represent her efforts by picking up a higher level of Wealth. If not, then the Wealth would not be properly representative of what she has and I should divert those points elsewhere.

(Maybe I should have made a straight-up melee brute. So much simpler, plus I've been practicing recently.)

Re: Welcome wagon

Aha - understood and that complexity is beyond what I needed to set up, so it's still up in the air as far as I know.
