Re: Welcome wagon

That is a lot of miles, doesn't seem unreasonable. I'm sure GURPS has some calculations for travel time. Its about 2800 miles to cross the United States from east to west, or vica versa.

2 years might be a bit long, I think it took the Oregon pioneers 4-6 months from Missouri to Oregon by wagon, and 1 year by sea.

Re: Welcome wagon

Not everyone has those kind of means :) And this is a tracking situation. Extra time for questioning ect... I'm sure they did not intend to be traveling this far, it just turned out that way since their target is slippery and moving from place to place.

Re: Welcome wagon

In reply to Jacoby Nimble (msg # 92):

yes they do... but just like everyone is likely to have access to intercontinental transport  does not mean everyone wants to do what is necessary to make use of it.  Be it due to lack of interest, time, morals or some other form of restriction.  On that note let me add the phrase what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Re: Welcome wagon

2351 miles is a very long distance to track someone, If I knew my target was at this town then I would assume it took me a little more than half a year to get to this town, If I was tracking her while traveling then at least a year or more. Someone really wants this person found!

The James brothers were most active with their gang from about 1866 until 1876 I wonder how far they could travel in that time?

Goodness do you really think it would take a year to travel 2361 miles. Ave of 30 per day 300 in ten 3000 in one hundred.

Re: Welcome wagon

But that's just straight hiking from point A to B. without stopping to do anything other than eat and sleep. Maybe I did have my numbers exaggerated a bit, but its still at the least 6 months of tracking this person. :)

Re: Welcome wagon

In reply to Mythos Lazarus Abel Yggdrasil (msg # 98):

I guess it is a simple matter of skills and equipment vs skills and countermeasures.  A master tracker would not need such an extended period unless up against a master of evasion but then I guess none of us could start as a master of anything with that skill requirement of 29-37?

But who knows for sure .... apart from the DM

Re: Welcome wagon

This seems odd to post in the Welcome Wagon thread, but I didn't see another OOC thread.

Galen does not know the law around this culture, but Angharad might. Can we have Mythos arrested for harassment? Or can we just tell the guards that he's harassing a woman above his station and they'll encourage him to stay away?

Mythos is from this culture so I hope I would have a one up in that front. He was hired to track down mayfirst and is part of a Merc guild, but anything could happen! why not make an attempt in game to call the guards? :D

EDIT:: Mythos is a stubborn, overconfident, crazy Ice mage. >.o
